In this episode of the Deer IQ Podcast we are in a new series - the Art of Hunting. We will delve into some very interesting topics, from tracking down bucks, to the debate and high iq strategy of trail camera use, to the fine points of broad head selection, and to what it's like going tech-naked for a whole season. In this episode I'm back with famous writer Richard P. Smith talking about tracking bucks, and in particular wounded bucks - which we've all dealt with at some point and probably will in the future. Here are the top things to look for during this episode on tracking wounded bucks:• Why don't many hunters track deer anymore as a hunting technique as historically was the norm - why has this art been lost?• What should you do after killing a deer, that is a huge learning opportunity that most miss out on completely. • What are key indicators of good vs. bad hits - and an important one that most hunters totally overlook?• What are the keys to tracking gutshot deer and determining the proper wait time, so you don't make critical errors and ruin your chances of recovery?• When should you call in a tracking dog, and what is the dark side of doing this - that may make you really think before calling one in?• And how can other animals (not dogs) help you find a wounded deer when all else fails?MENTIONED IN THE SHOW:• Deer IQ ADVANCED WHITETAIL WORKSHOP SIGNUP HERE : https://deeriq.com/deeriq-whitetail-workshop/ • Previous episode with Richard - https://youtu.be/nD4-me4Y_4A • Get Richard's Books: https://richardpsmith.com/ More from DEER IQ: Website: https://deeriq.com Facebook Private Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511109237864762 Deer IQ FREE Journal: https://deeriq.com/journal/ Pressured Public Lands Hunting Guide: https://deeriq.com/public-land-hunting-guide/ Newsletter Signup: https://deeriq.com/signup/ Patreon - Contribute Financially to Deer IQ: https://www.patreon.com/DeerIQPatreon Scent Control Regimen: https://deeriq.com/scentcontrol-regimen/ • Get a Land Plan HERE: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfEBSw2DrrvyYBr_qzl3OxagG2PJLgL7DotkYxCYltPWr8sUg/viewform Year Theme: To consistently take the top deer where you huntSeries: The Art of HuntingEpisode # 90Guest: Host Adam Lewis, Richard P.
