This week we are discussing "Psycho Cop Returns" which has one of the greatest horror villains of all time in Officer Joe Vickers played by last week's guest Robert Shafer. Robert delivered some epic one-liners after some epic kills with some beautifully executed special effects. This a video review that you can watch at sequelsonly.com/psychocopreturns The next sequel we are reviewing is “Superman II" and it just so happens to be the 40th anniversary from when it flew into theaters on June 19th, 1981 and we interviewed the Actor who played "Non", Jack O'Halloran. On-screen he is a man of few words but he was once a big-time heavyweight boxer. Ep 9. In 1990, 19-year-old Robert Shafer and 16-year-old David Steinmeyer handed themselves into police in St Charles, Missouri and confessed to the killings of two men; Dennis Young and Jerry Parker. Shafer and Steinmeyer claimed at first that they had hitched a ride with the victims who they claimed attacked them and that they killed in self-defence. However, two years later, in July 1992, Robert Shafer confessed to killing both men and requested the death penalty. Despite having requested the death penalty, just three weeks after arriving on death row, Shafer sought the help of an attorney to appeal his sentencing. Eventually in 2004 he succeeded in his appeal after it was ruled that he wasn’t mentally able to comprehend the consequences of representing himself in 1993. He is currently serving a life sentence. David Steinmeyer received a 12-and-a-half-year sentence for his part in the crime. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Bobby Taylor, Robert Shafer and Robin Kessinger, three of the Kanawha Valley's best traditional musicians, have played together over many years at various musical events in the Valley and throughout West Virginia. They were heavily influenced by the musical talents of Clark Kessinger, a world renowned fiddler. Clark Kessinger recorded many tunes on the Brunswick label from 1928 to 1930, and later, five albums in the 1960s. Kessinger lived near where Robert, Robin and Bobby grew up in the Kanawha Valley, and Robin is his great nephew. This trio uses Clark's beautiful arrangements as a foundation for the music they play. Just like Clark Kessinger, who used every technique possible, they continue to explore new and exciting ways to play the great old tunes.
