35 years after the "Sweet Sixteen Killer" murders, the infamous killer returns and takes another victim. Incidentally, a young girl travels back in time to 1987 and attempts to stop the initial killings.Totally Killer is a fun, light-hearted horror film to close out Spooky Season. There's nothing worse than a horror comedy that isn't funny. Good thing that's not the case with this one. This movie delivers on laughs, music, and vibes as an infamous serial killer is tracked through time and our protagonist has a personal stake to attempt to stop the killer in the past to preserve the future. The movie has a great array of characters that translate well both in the present and the past and adds new elements to the time travel piece where even minor impacts in the past will cause major ripples and change the future. While this movie didn't have a ton of buzz, it certainly delivers. Step back into the shadows with us as ClassHorrorCast dives deep into the origins of one of horror's most iconic franchises — John Carpenter's Halloween. In this first part of our Halloween retrospective, we're breaking down the original trilogy that defined and redefined the slasher genre: Halloween (1978), Halloween II (1981), and Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982).From Carpenter's minimalist masterpiece that gave birth to Michael Myers — The Shape — to the blood-soaked sequel set in Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, and finally to the bold and bizarre departure of Season of the Witch, we're covering it all.In this episode, we explore: Behind-the-scenes stories and production secrets from all three films Scene-by-scene breakdowns and how Carpenter's visual style changed modern horror Every kill — analyzed, ranked, and remembered Unused ideas, alternate endings, and lost storylines that never made it to screen The characters, the music, and the mythology that built Halloween's legacy And the fan reaction that changed the franchise foreverWhether you're a lifelong Halloween fan or discovering the early films for the first time, this episode peels back the mask to reveal how Halloween 1–3 shaped the genre, terrified audiences, and sparked one of the most fascinating evolutions in horror history.Listen now — where we celebrate the creators, stories, and dark imagination that make horror unforgettable. After partying on Halloween, a group of friends enter a haunted house that turns their deepest fears into reality.Haunt is our next review for Spooky Season and it sure is a fun watch. There's nothing like watching movies about extreme haunted houses in October. There's a bit here for everyone as there are slasher elements, some psychological horror, as well as a mystery. While this movie doesn't reinvent the wheel, it is a nice addition to Halloween horror and one that we believe can be an every-year Halloween staple. Watch the movie and catch our review. In this episode it was Jef's turn to pick a movie for the crew to watch and chat about, Brian and Josh figured after their stinky picks recently Jef was going to elevate the situation and pick a good movie. Well Jef decided it was only fair to stoop to their level and dig into the dumpster for a nice ripe one. Of course he would never just do any old thing, he will always make sure there are at the very least good actors attached to his pick. He was not wrong, he chose 1995's "Hideaway" starring Jeff Goldblum, Alicia Silverstone, Jeremy Sisto, Rae Dawn Chong and Alfred Molina! A whole stack of somebodies! Alas even with all that star power, Hideaway might be best appreciated by those that saw it when it came out, or who knows maybe it is your future favorite movie? Either way The FM3 dig into it and come out the other side forever touched by Heaven and Hell, and revived and ready for the next episode. So win win? Enjoy!
In this episode of ClassHorrorCast, we go deep into the dark and fascinating world of horror storytelling with writer and director Jeff Buhler — the creative force behind The Midnight Meat Train, The Prodigy, Pet Sematary (2019), and The Grudge (2020).Jeff has built a reputation as one of the few modern writers who can take classic horror themes and twist them into something raw, emotional, and deeply unsettling. From the claustrophobic terror of Nightflyers to the brutal beauty of The Midnight Meat Train, his work explores the space between fear and fascination — where the human mind becomes the real monster. We talk about how he first discovered horror, his journey from independent filmmaker to Hollywood screenwriter, and what it really takes to write stories that crawl under your skin.Jeff shares insights on creative process, adaptation, collaboration, and how to find authenticity in a genre often ruled by formulas. Whether you're a filmmaker, horror fan, or simply fascinated by the psychology of fear, this episode offers an honest, thoughtful look at how nightmares are built — one word at a time.Press play, dim the lights, and join us for a masterclass in modern horror storytelling.Check out more of my content - HEREBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/class-horror-cast--4295531/support.

Hey, I get that there's peer pressure and all, but I really hope that I had seen enough horror movies as a teen to know that would be a terrible idea. And as an adult, there's no way in hell that I'm doing that. But these are teenagers, and they just do things a little differently in Australia, anyway. After 10 years, Victor Crowley starts killing again in the Honey Island Swamp.Victor Crowley is the fourth installment of the Hatchet movies and if nothing else, this slasher series continues to have crazy kills in the bayou. What we've come to love from these movies is that they maintain the same premise in all movies which is a group heading into the Honey Island Swamp, only to be met and absolutely torn to pieces in different ways by Victor Crowley. In this episode it was Josh's turn to pick a movie for the guys to watch and chat about. He got so excited that he completely forgot about the ban on Charles Band movies that the FM3 made a blood oath on just mere episodes ago. But instead of choosing something else Brian, Jef and Josh dive dick first into the deep dark dumpster that holds The Charles Band Archives and resurfaced with "The Dungeonmaster" from 1984. Listeners you too can play at home in the Chuck Band Dumpster and watch Richard Moll and the Fondacaro brothers get horribly underused and at the same time see some of John Carl Buechler's Troll and Ghoulies puppet rejects, and really what more could you ask from a "horror" movie?
In this episode of ClassHorrorCast, I'm joined by the incredibly talented filmmaker Armand Mastroianni — a name that might not always make the headlines, but one that's had a lasting impact on both horror and television for over four decades.Armand's journey began with the cult slasher He Knows You're Alone (1980) — a tense, atmospheric film best remembered for introducing a young Tom Hanks to cinema audiences. From there, he continued to build a fascinating and varied career directing thrillers, supernatural dramas, and emotional character pieces, including The Clairvoyant, Cameron's Closet, and the spiritually charged The Celestine Prophecy. Across our conversation, Armand opens up about his early days in the business, the unpredictable nature of filmmaking, and how he's managed to stay inspired and relevant through so many changes in the industry. He shares incredible behind-the-scenes stories, reflections on the horror genre, and powerful advice for anyone pursuing a creative path — whether you're making movies, podcasts, music, or any form of art. This episode isn't just about films — it's about perseverance, passion, and the creative mindset needed to turn ideas into reality. Armand's wisdom and warmth make this one of the most inspiring and eye-opening conversations I've had so far.If you love horror history, filmmaking insight, or stories from the trenches of Hollywood, you won't want to miss this one. Michael and a mysterious cult come to Haddonfield to locate Jamie's newborn child for the evil and dastardly deeds. Spooky Season is back and like usual, we are discussing Michael Myers and now we're reviewing Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. This is the sixth installment in the Halloween franchise and by far the most convoluted. This film stars Paul Rudd in an underwhelming performance, but it's not all on him as the script is all over the place. This film not only has Michael coming to Haddonfield, but also a cult who are on paths to locate Jamie's newborn child. Will the cult be able to get their hands on the newborn for their ritual? Contestants of a reality show titled "The Apocalypse" start filming and find their shooting location is occupied by a family of inbred cannibals who want nothing more than to kill and eat them.Wrong Turn 2: Dead End is the unlikely finale of Sequel September 2025, but it's the follow-up to one of our favorite horror movies growing up and is a fun movie with a ton of crazy kills. The reality show element is ridiculous, but provides an interesting setting as it leaves all the contestants vulnerable to an unforeseen horror in the woods of West Virginia. While not as good as the first, this movie is a lot of fun, and doesn't shy away from the blood and gore, and is overall gross throughout. It's also always entertaining to see Henry Rollins play a badass who takes the fight back to the deformed inbred cannibals. In this episode the FM3 pay respects to the one and only lying ass Warren's with a little chat about the newest installment in the Conjuring universe "Last Rites". It's that time of year again when Brian and Josh can't remember if it is a Conjuring movie or a Insidious movie and tbh do they even care? At this point, our brave heroes feel like they are living in a groundhog's day of endless ghost cliches with no end in sight. Luckily this is the last one...right?

Old hidden secrets come to haunt teens in Woodsboro as a Ghostface killer resurfaces and anyone related to individuals from previous murders become targets.Scream thematically maintains the clever parody of previous slasher movies and tropes, but weaves in new horror insights into a fresh film that still maintains the integrity of the franchise. The Scream movie series continues to have the same types of red herrings in the mystery while remaining innovative. While not as good as the first couple of movies in the series, this movie doesn't disappoint and has another great cast with newcomers like Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, and Mikey Madison, and brings back series favorites like Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette. More great kills, funny deliveries, and unforeseen twists. We're kicking off our INTERNATIONAL EEKS triple feature with Andrzej Żuławski's 1981 cult classic Possession. Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani's infamous Berlin breakdown becomes the backdrop for one of cinema's strangest monsters—a slimy, seductive tentacled being. We dig into the film's 6 monster reveals, the unforgettable subway scene, the Cold War paranoia beneath the story, and how themes of love, control, and identity feed into the horror. In our conversation on Possession, we found a great balance of serious analysis and our usual off-the-rails banter. From James Bond to human dildos, we explore what makes this monster introduction so disturbing and iconic. Sharon's adoptive father goes missing and she attempts to find him in the alternate reality holding the answers to her nightmares that have long haunted her.Silent Hill: Revelation is the sequel to Silent Hill and is based off the video game Silent Hill 3. Being one of Kit Harrington's biggest roles since his rise to stardom in Game of Thrones, this film brought together both survival horror video game fans as well as fans of fantasy. Unfortunately, we were hoping for a film that hit a bit closer to the source material of an amazing game from our childhood rather than being an amalgamation of all things Silent Hill related. Struggling to tell a cohesive story and assuming the viewer understands and can follow the messy plot, this movie isn't successful as a video game adaptation or as a sequel to the first Silent Hill. In this episode one of the FM3's Patreon Top Dawgs picked a movie that the guys were very skeptical about and never imagined watching it. Having heard the name and seen the VHS artwork Jef, Josh and Brian could only imagine that this flick was nothing more than a janky music video for Boris Pickett & The Crypt Kicker 5's punishing jam "The Monster Mash". Thank goodness it wasn't and because It is actually a pretty fun horror anthology with some cool musical numbers. Plus you get a monster sized dose of Vincent Price and John Carradine as the book ends of each of the stories and boy oh boy they are hamming it up and down. The best part is that Boris Pickett was nowhere to be found and for the Forever Midnight boys that meant this flick might not stink to high heavens like the Wolfman's nards or the Crypt Kickers crypt knickers.
