We're kicking off our INTERNATIONAL EEKS triple feature with Andrzej Żuławski's 1981 cult classic Possession. Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani's infamous Berlin breakdown becomes the backdrop for one of cinema's strangest monsters—a slimy, seductive tentacled being. We dig into the film's 6 monster reveals, the unforgettable subway scene, the Cold War paranoia beneath the story, and how themes of love, control, and identity feed into the horror. In our conversation on Possession, we found a great balance of serious analysis and our usual off-the-rails banter. From James Bond to human dildos, we explore what makes this monster introduction so disturbing and iconic. Sharon's adoptive father goes missing and she attempts to find him in the alternate reality holding the answers to her nightmares that have long haunted her.Silent Hill: Revelation is the sequel to Silent Hill and is based off the video game Silent Hill 3. Being one of Kit Harrington's biggest roles since his rise to stardom in Game of Thrones, this film brought together both survival horror video game fans as well as fans of fantasy. Unfortunately, we were hoping for a film that hit a bit closer to the source material of an amazing game from our childhood rather than being an amalgamation of all things Silent Hill related. Struggling to tell a cohesive story and assuming the viewer understands and can follow the messy plot, this movie isn't successful as a video game adaptation or as a sequel to the first Silent Hill. Watch the movie and catch our review.YouTube | The Final PodcastDiscord | Spooky PiratesFacebook | The Final PodcastInstagram | thefinalpodcastMusic Credit: Karl Casey @ White Bat Audiohttps://www.youtube.com/whitebataudioWhat should we review next? In this episode one of the FM3's Patreon Top Dawgs picked a movie that the guys were very skeptical about and never imagined watching it. Having heard the name and seen the VHS artwork Jef, Josh and Brian could only imagine that this flick was nothing more than a  janky music video for Boris Pickett & The Crypt Kicker 5's punishing jam "The Monster Mash".  Thank goodness it wasn't and because It is actually a pretty fun horror anthology with some cool musical numbers. Plus you get a monster sized dose of Vincent Price and John Carradine as the book ends of each of the stories and boy oh boy they are hamming it up and down. The best part is that Boris Pickett was nowhere to be found and for the Forever Midnight boys that meant this flick might not stink to high heavens like the Wolfman's nards or the Crypt Kickers crypt knickers.

Send us a textGrab your pulse rifles and motion trackers – we're dropping into LV-426! In this adrenaline-fueled episode, we dissect James Cameron's action-packed sequel "Aliens" (1986) and discover why it stands as one of the most successful genre shifts in cinema history. The conversation explores how Cameron transformed Ridley Scott's slow-burning horror masterpiece into an explosive action thriller without sacrificing the dread and tension that made the original so effective. We dive deep into Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley – her 57-year cryosleep, the trauma she carries, and her evolution from reluctant survivor to determined warrior. That power loader showdown with the Queen? Pure cinematic gold that perfectly culminates Ripley's character arc.We couldn't stop gushing about the practical effects that still hold up brilliantly today – from the hive's unsettling biomechanical design to the imposing Alien Queen puppet operated by multiple performers. The Colonial Marines receive special attention, particularly Bill Paxton's panic-stricken Hudson ("Game over, man!") and Jenette Goldstein's tough-as-nails Vasquez. Paul Reiser's duplicitous Burke also gets his due as the human villain whose corporate greed rivals the xenomorphs in monstrosity. Our hosts debate which film reigns supreme – the atmospheric horror of "Alien" or the action-packed thrills of "Aliens" – and examine how the sequel expands the xenomorph mythology with the Queen and hive structure. From face-huggers to chest-bursters to acid blood, we analyze why these creatures remain among cinema's most terrifying creations decades later.Ready to face your fears and join the conversation? Local authorities delve into a cave system, bringing along a caver who recently made her way out with minimal memory of what happened to her and her friends and encounter unhospitable dwellers. The Descent: Part 2 is the follow-up effort to the tense, and at times, terrifying movie, The Descent. Where the original was successful in not only creating great characters with motives, a claustrophobic environment, and creepy subterranean creatures, the sequel does the opposite on almost all of these things. The monsters are back, but there are so many of them fighting the characters throughout the movie, any and all tenseness is minimal. The characters have forced motives and there's a few twists that had us shaking our heads. As a standalone movie, it would be decent, but we just believe it's not a necessary sequel to a movie that really told a complete story. In this episode of ClassHorrorCast, we revisit Alex Garland's haunting and surreal folk horror MEN (2022) — a film that shocked audiences, split opinions, and delivered one of the most disturbing endings in recent memory. We dive deep into the unsettling atmosphere Garland creates, the layered symbolism woven through the story, and Jessie Buckley's powerhouse performance as Harper, a woman seeking escape from grief only to find herself stalked by something far darker. We'll break down the film's rural English setting, its eerie use of repetition, and Rory Kinnear's unforgettable (and unnerving) multi-role performance. From the visceral body horror to the heavy thematic undercurrents about guilt, gender, and cycles of violence, we explore why MEN is so divisive — and why that shocking final act still has people talking.Whether you loved it, hated it, or are still trying to figure out what you just watched, this conversation will give you plenty to think about. If you enjoyed this - Check out my other content here - https://linktr.ee/FirstClassHorrorBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/class-horror-cast--4295531/support.

A late night tv show host has a Halloween special to maintain his former glory, while evil has other plans.Late Night with the Devil is a unique horror movie that highlights what one man is willing to give up for fame. A lot of movies have portrayed the concept of selling one's soul to the devil, but never with such an original way of storytelling. This film takes place primarily on the set of a late-night talk show and chronicles what happened on a special Halloween episode. This effort was one final hoorah to boost the ratings of the show which consistently loses to Carson. Can Jack Delroy's 'Night Owls' finally have the best night of tv in history? Is film criticism dead? On this week’s episode of Cinemaholics, Jon Negroni and Will Ashton kick things off with a timely conversation about the state of movie reviews in a post-Twitter world. With major papers shedding critics and platforms like Substack taking their place, what does the future hold for film discourse? Then, the guys dig into Weapons, the sophomore horror feature from Barbarian director Zach Cregger. Starring Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, and Benedict Wong, Weapons is an ambitious suburban nightmare told in fragmented perspectives and genre-defying set pieces. Jon and Will unpack the film’s surprising themes, multi-chapter structure, and incredible practical effects. Is Weapons a worthy follow-up to Barbarian? Or does it get lost in its own metaphorical maze? Plus, we read some Letterboxd reviews, play the Rotten Tomatoes game, and share which August films we’re most excited to see next. Devout Irish villagers in a North American settlement are ravaged by disease while a woman and her daughter are thriving amidst suspicion of witchcraft. The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw starts off with a bang with a mysterious witch coven's use of a young girl to remain prosperous during a harvest, while a local village is struggling. The movie does teeter and starts to lose cohesiveness with the backstory of the witch, her capabilities, and the lack of self-awareness for her purpose. The time period and character actions as it relates to the specific time the film is set is also confusing. With some strengths, the movie was better than expected, but with a lacking ending, the film doesn't set itself apart from the rest of the genre.Subscribe to our YouTube channel @thefinalpodcast  Join the Discord | https://discord.gg/UFtVP243Follow us on Facebook The Final Podcast Follow us on Instagram @thefinalpodcastFollow us on X @thefinalpodeverMusic Credit: Karl Casey @ White Bat Audiohttps://www.youtube.com/whitebataudioWhat should we review next?
