The River City is hosting a special event for the first time ever in celebration of July being Disability Pride Month. Teams from across the country will gather at Highland Springs High School to take part in a wheelchair rugby tournament this weekend. On episode 18 of Concussion Talk Podcast I talk to Mike Luke, a World Rugby Medical Educator and Certified Kinesiologist in St. John's, NL. Mike is a co- owner/operator of Pony Locale , a Pilates, Kinesiology, and Massage Therapy studio. In August 2016, Mike was asked to be part of Rugby Americas North (RAN) Mens U19 and Womens 10s Rugby Tournament as a "concussion spotter". I talk to Mike about his involvement with the tournament; what his role was, what he had to do, what he saw, etc. Personally, I have done strength training with Mike several times, and I can attest to his challenging and effective workouts, his enthusiastic and inspiring attitude, along with his unique approach to movement!
