Celý díl na http://zimakpodcast.cz Nový díl podcastu Zimák pozval speciálního hosta, známého z pořadu NHL INSIDER, ano, do dlouhé debaty o dění v extralize zavítal vítěz Stanley Cupu David Krejčí. „Co je teď, neřeším, chci jen finále Sparty s Pardubicemi,“ rychle vyhlásila a pobavila legenda Bostonu. Tohle zrovna bylo jedno z témat. A další? Enfant terrible nejvyšší domácí soutěže Marek Daňo a jeho trestní recidiva, u níž postihy nepomáhají k nápravě. Jak by se měl vyřešit případ Martina Ševce, sportovního manažera Boleslavi, který nechutně vyjel na rozhodčí během série s Hradcem? A co dál v Třinci po této sezoně? Neodejde Petr Sikora do Washingtonu? A kam zamíří v Liberci nechtěný Filip Pešán? A kdo je jeho nástupce Jiří Kudrna? A dál – skoro extraligový zlozvyk: podávání rukou po každém zápase. Proti je i David Krejčí. Je toho mnohem víc…
Hokejisté Sparty vyřadili ve čtvrtfinále play off Tipsport extraligy Třinec.

Comedian, performer, and writer Robin Ince has been asking questions about the world around him for as long as he can remember. Perhaps most famous for his radio show The Infinite Monkey Cage which he co-hosts on BBC Radio 4 with Professor Brian Cox, Ince has been bringing science to the masses in new and hilarious ways since the 90s. In this interview with our sister publication, Research Features, we discover what it's like performing 'science' at Glastonbury, why people may be frightened of science, and neurodivergence in STEM.

Nothing gets the crowd going at K-State basketball games this season more than Gerry Ince, 83, and Janice Edwards, 84. The two friends are longtime K-State fans who had gone to basketball and football games with their husbands since the '80s. Gerry was the first who got into dancing along with the timeout music. The first time they went to a basketball game this season Janice had just sat down, and Gerry told her stand-up and cheer. When the time out music comes on Gerry grabs Janice and they start dancing. “The first time, we heard a really loud roar,” Edwards said. “We looked up, and I said, ‘Oh my god, Gerry, we're on TV! We're on the jumbotron.'”

Hope is what propels us through the uncertainty and chaos of our slumps and our challenges. But in our broken, imperfect world, a lot of people are finding their peace is constantly under threat, and because of that, it's harder to experience genuine hope for the future. Irwyn Ince is a pastor, author and coordinator of Mission to North America for the Presbyterian Church in America. In his new book, “Hope Ain't a Hustle: Persevering by Faith in a Wearying World,” he explores the true nature of hope and its transforming power. Irwyn reminds us that true hope isn't fleeting. It's rooted in something much deeper: our faith in God and his promises. Using the book of Hebrews as a framework, he shows us how to place our confidence in the finished work of Jesus and how that can change the way we think and live. He reminds us that even in—and especially in—the midst of suffering and disappointment, we can find hope and persevere. This is a conversation about the source of true hope, the instructions for hopefulness we find in Hebrews, and the role community plays in our ability to sustain hope over time. This week Nicky and Paul are taking you back to 1995-96: the season of Cantona's return, grey kits, Keegan's rant and, of course, "You'll never win anything with kids". Nicky and Paul recall their reactions when they heard Hughes, Ince and Kanchelskis had been sold and how they felt after getting well beaten at Aston Villa on the opening day. They discuss Eric Cantona's comeback against Liverpool and how he got different treatment from Sir Alex, how they whittled down Newcastle's 12-point lead and they remember the manager's furious reaction at Southampton and why he ordered them to change their shirts at half-time. Elsewhere, Nicky reveals how a bet with Kevin Keegan at Newcastle ended with a load of 2ps on the manager's desk, he and Paul discuss how they felt battling one another for a place in the team during their United careers and who was singing their own song on the way back from Middlesbrough after the league was won? While at the Archives of Falconry Spring Rendezvous, I had to pleasure of meeting this episode's guest, Jim Ince. I was bummed earlier this year to not get to meet Jim at the Texas Hawking Association meet, since I had heard great things about him not only as a falconer, but also as a bell and hood maker. Jim is another falconer that has been at it since the early days, and as it turns out, happens to be a pretty good guy also! While at the Rendezvous, I was happy to learn that Jim will be part of a Masterclass video series that the Archives of Falconry is going to be releasing for members, and hopefully by the time this episode is released, if not shortly after, his video on how to make bells should be released, so if you're not a member of the Archives of Falconry, now's the time to be! These videos will be another great membership bonus on top of all of the other great content the Archives offers, so head to falconry.org and sign up if you haven't! We hope you enjoy hearing about Jim's journey in falconry, including a pretty epic falconry tour through Europe, and then have fun checking out his wonderful bell craftsmanship! In this episode, Irwyn Ince and I talk about hope in the context of race, oppression, community, and lament. He inspires us to persevere in hope through difficult times. We explore the roots of hope in Christ despite past rejections, detangling oppressive actions from the gospel message, and the importance of fixing one's gaze on Jesus and enduring through suffering by looking to his example. Welcome to Monday Mentor, a Write Medicine series. I'm your host Alex Howson and today Helen Folsam is back to share insights on CME medical writing. Helen Fosam is a seasoned medical writer with over 20 years shaping her career, beginning in academia in the UK then moving to the US where she discovered medical writing working at companies like Ince, WebMD, and small remote startups. She launched her own medical writing consulting business, The Edge Medical Writing, through which she founded the Milo initiative to provide continuing education to improve health outcomes in Africa. In this episode, Helen dissects the nuances between medical and healthcare writing, discusses the challenges new writers face, and shares invaluable tips on asking the right questions to provide tailored content for clients. Key Takeaways 1. Distinct Differences Between Medical and Healthcare Writing: There are important differences between medical writing and health writing in terms of target audience, objectives, accreditation status, and writing style. 2. Challenges in CME Writing: CME writing requires specialized expertise to effectively educate healthcare professionals through accredited activities. CME writing requires adherence to accreditation requirements, maintaining unbiased and evidence-based information, and preserving the integrity of CME. 3. Professional Development: Mentorship in the medical writing field is valuable, particularly for those new to the area. It acknowledges the challenges in providing quality mentorship, especially for freelancers, and the ongoing debate about sustainable mentorship models. What steps can you take today? 1. Identify Your Niche: Reflect on your interests and skills to determine whether you are more inclined towards medical writing or health writing. This will help you focus your efforts on developing expertise in your chosen area. 2. Educate Yourself: Engage in continuous learning and professional development via specialized courses and workshops. Stay updated with the latest trends and standards in CME/CE writing. Subscribe to relevant podcasts and newsletters (ahem!). 3. Network and Seek Mentorship: Connect with experienced professionals in the field. Even if formal mentorship seems out of reach, informal networking can provide valuable guidance, help avoid common pitfalls, and accelerate career development. Consider joining professional groups or associations that cater to medical writers (like WriteCME Pro).
