15. Philippians 2:12-18 Joy in Service-Part 3 Pastor Phil Ballmaier Calvary Chapel Elk Grove 9-10-23 Pastor Phil normally approaches the study of The Bible verse-by-verse, but The Lord has laid it on his heart to study The Book of Philippians topically. Today Pastor Phil continues in Philippians, with Part 3 of his message, "Joy in Service". We are called to serve, not be served. This service must come out of a love for Jesus first, and He will provide the love and grace to do His perfect will! Jesus gave us every example of what it means to be a true servant of God. May He continue to equip us to serve others as He did, out of our genuine love for Him and others... May we reflect on the high calling He's given us to be His ambassadors here on earth. The Book of Philippians was written by the Apostle Paul while he was imprisoned in Rome, likely around 61 or 62 AD. It is one of the four 'prison epistles' that Paul penned while in captivity. He counted it a joy to allow God to work everything for his good—even imprisonment. This epistle teaches us the secret of having joy in a less than perfect world. Today Pastor Ben continues the chapter-by-chapter, verse-by-verse study of the Book of Philippians. *Last week, we covered four characteristics that we need to develop: 1. Sacrifice 2. Servant 3. Submissive 4. Suffering *Three ways to grow from our text today: 1. Understand progressive sanctification 2. Shine bright for Jesus 3. Run the race that's set before me *"Obedience is the evidence of your faith in God." Pastor Ben Martinez *"We can diminish the power of the Gospel by not shining bright for Jesus." What does Paul mean by "work out your salvation with fear and trembling"?
The 8th sermon in a series on Philippians. Paul tells us that we must work out our salvation, but what does this curious phrase mean? What does the Scripture teach us about our life together as Christians? Find us: maranathalilburn.org Follow us: facebook.com/maranathalilburn instagram.com/maranathalilburn

Every day we toil and we work, but the question is are working for the glory of God? Our work will fade and it will come to an end, but the only work that will last is the work of God. Paul tells us that we should work out our salvation with fear and trembling. It is not that Paul wants us to work for salvation, but rather see that we should live a life of faith in light of the gift of grace in salvation. Therefore, we look to God’s work in our salvation and we live a life without grumbling as lights in the world that shine towards the work of Christ.. Visit us online at: http://www.RenewalChurch.net
