Full text: https://www.pecanphilosophy.com/writing/mindtraps"Others Have It Worse, So I Shouldn't Complain.” Self-sabotaging stories that keep you stuck are rarely obvious villains. They come masked as common sense, as truism, as gratitude or kindness, as protection against future pain. We carry them like sacred truths, hardly seeing how what is designed to self-sabotage is actually leaving us feeling hollow and disconnected. In this letter, I want us to see if we can expose some of these hidden self-sabotaging beliefs, see them for what they are, and re-examine if we truly want to carry them for the rest of our lives: “Others have it worse, so I should not complain." "My parents did their best, so I cannot be upset." "If I accept love, I will only be disappointed later." Self-sabotaging beliefs often disguise oppression as morality. They sound rational, even noble, yet they are nothing more than outdated schemas that keep us small. For the full article:https://www.pecanphilosophy.com/writing/mindtrapsEggshell Therapy and Coaching: eggshelltherapy.com About Imi Lo: www.imiloimilo.comInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/eggshelltherapy_imilo/ Newsletters: https://eepurl.com/bykHRzDisclaimers: https://www.eggshelltherapy.com/disclaimers Trigger Warning: This episode may cover sensitive topics including but not limited to suicide, abuse, violence, severe mental illnesses, relationship challenges, sex, drugs, alcohol addiction, psychedelics, and the use of plant medicines. Does it really do any good? I think it does great harm to our witness for Jesus.
TRY NOT TO COMPLAIN. We all do it, sometimes without being aware, but it is harmful to our spiritual health and well-being. We need to find a way to identify it in ourselves and limit its effect on us and others. St. Paul reminds us to "give thanks in all circumstances, and rejoice always!" One of the most awkward situations you'll face as a senior manager is when staff come to you complaining about their boss. After 33 years of managing teams, I know this one inside and out, having been on both sides of it.These complaints can spiral into massive problems if you get them wrong. Team morale suffers, and productivity declines. But you can sort them out if you know what you're doing.I'll provide you with the practical steps you need when someone raises concerns about their manager - what to do first, how to conduct a proper investigation, and how to maintain relationships throughout the entire process.Because how you handle these situations shows your team what kind of leader you really are. When you get it right, you build trust. When you get it wrong, you lose good people.

If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free, beautiful and great. No! Only in this friendship are the doors of life opened wide… Do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away, and he gives you everything…” My Website Podcast PageAll Previous Episodes

VR3 - It 's Thomas, Lydia, and Matt versus the entire National Review editorial board! Join us as we take on the conservative magazine's recent op-ed on why it is extremely rude to compare masked American federal agents of today who refuse to identify themselves as they grab innocent families off of the street and shove them into unmarked vans bound for concentration camps to masked Nazi German agents of 1933-1945 who refused to identify themselves as they grabbed innocent families off the street and shoved them into vans bound for concentration camps. Matt explains with historical examples why ICE is not NOT the Gestapo as we consider what we can learn from Nazi history. We celebrate the recent return of Maryland father Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the US after his illegal deportation to El Salvador with a take so bad that it is hard to believe that the whole thing wasn't actually published in The Onion. What was the audience for this willfully obtuse Newsweek op-ed praising the DOJ for finding a way to bring Abrego Garcia back other than the fact that the Supreme Court told them to, and what is this trying to say to them? Has this thing already aged worse than Stephen Miller? Finally: updates from Martha's Vineyard (last week's patron-only story) as Epstein attorney Alan Dershowitz and his crusade to bring down the considerable weight of the law against people who refuse to serve him tasty Polish food. WATCH US ON YOUTUBE! ”ICE is No Gestapo,” The Editors, National Review (8/6/25) "Why Was Kilmar Abrego Garcia Returned to the US?", Thomas G. Grace & Truth: Complaint, Lament, & RepentancePastor Kent LandhuisTHEME - God is near, God is listening, and God cares.TEXT - Jeremiah 12:1-51. Why do the wicked prosper?Jeremiah 12:1-4Is God watching?2. Why do God's people suffer?Jeremiah 15:5-21Does God care?3. Why me?Jeremiah 20:7-18Do I matter?4. God is near, God is listening, and God cares.Jeremiah 12:5ComplainLamentRepentNEXT STEPS 1. Evaluate your relationship with God.2. Be bold: Complain, lament, and repent.GO DEEPERGod sees, God cares, You matter. We long for control but, in reality, we control very little. (Almost nothing!) Trying to control life is exhausting. When life spins out of control, we want to know if God sees it, if God cares about it, and if God cares about us.2 Chronicles 16 is the last chapter about Asa, king of Judah. Sadly, though, this chapter stands in sharp contrast to chapters 14 and 15. Here we saw that God gave Asa “rest on every side” because of his dependence on the Lord. (God gave Asa victory in the face of a massive army.) God was clearly in control. In chapter 16, when King Asa found himself in another conflict, he had a sudden and surprising shift in behavior. Instead of crying out to God as he had before, Asa tried to control the situation with his own effort. This did not go well for Asa or God's people.Asa lost faith and lost grip with three truths. He forgot that God saw his situation, God cared about his situation, and God cared about him. When facing trouble - and the urge to complain and grab for control - remember these three things.Be honest with God and then trust God to draw near. Meditate on the promise of Psalm 34:18. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”Whenever you realize that you are NOT in control. Stand on this promise and remember. God sees, and God cares, and you matter.
Listen to this thought-provoking episode, we sit down with renowned Author, singer, songwriter and life strategist Dr. Nichols to unpack one of life's most overlooked truths: we often create our own chaos. With his signature mix of honesty, insight, and practical wisdom, Dr. Nichols explores how everyday decisions, relationships, and habits can either simplify our lives — or make them unnecessarily difficult.
Elisa Rosales lay on her back, head spinning, gasping for air. Her bike lay a few feet away, right where she had dropped it. Darkness pressed at the edges of her vision, and she fought the pull to let go, to drift into sleep. The ground beneath her was cold; she was cold. This was her first motorcycle adventure. She and her husband had set out from Argentina, bound for Arizona, but that destination felt impossibly far from where she now lay in the Andes, at nearly 16,000 feet. And the hardest part of the journey was only beginning.

Renaissance fairs have long been a place for workers and visitors alike to find community amid the trappings of a fictional medieval town. “Merchants” bring their wares to hawk, while various “guilds” provide the entertainment, from jousting to smithing to demonstrating medieval textile arts. But some longtime guild workers at the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire have pulled out of the festival due to what they describe as bad management and poor working conditions. They say the organization that puts on the fair – which also operates the Oregon Renaissance Faire and Oregon Celtic Festival – has prioritized profits over maintaining the sense of community that workers and volunteers value. Nathalie Graham is a former freelance reporter who now writes for The Seattle Stranger. She looked into these complaints in a recent article for InvestigateWest and joins us with more details.
For any reason, if you don't like the material world, then you are in luck because you have the process to rise above it. As a US president used to say during his campaigns, "Don't boo, vote." He would talk about the opposition; people would go, "Boo!" And he said, "No, don't boo. Just vote." In the same way, you don't have to complain. I mean, you can a little bit because it feels good sometimes, but don't complain too much. Just chant and arrange your life so that you can hear. The śṛṇuyāt principle means the medicine is there. It's right on the shelf. You can just take a few steps and take it down. And don't complain if you have a stomach ache, the cure is right there. Just get it and start taking the cure as much as possible, and rise from being a kaniṣṭha-adhikārī to a madhyama-adhikārī. Kaniṣṭha-adhikārīs complain, a lot. In fact, they're always quarreling. Prabhupāda mentions this in the Śrī Īśopaniṣad. He says, "Kaniṣṭha-adhikārīs quarrel amongst themselves about the details of the process, whether somebody else is doing it right or wrong." And then he says the madhyama-adhikārīs—they're absorbed in thinking how to give Kṛṣṇa consciousness to others. Who would you rather hang out with? People who are always quarreling and complaining and criticizing each other for the details of how they're doing devotional service, or those who are thinking about how to spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness all over the world? ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

When life feels unbearably heavy—from natural disasters to personal heartbreak—what can we even say? The Bible doesn't ignore suffering or gloss over pain. Instead, it gives voice to our sorrow. Psalm 13 offers us a path from weeping to worship, showing how honest lament can lead to deep trust in a faithful God.OutlineI. TurnII. ComplainIII. PetitionIV. Trusting PraiseSermon Discussion Questions1) When suffering strikes, where do you instinctively turn first?
