Somehow, Sales and Crabb have BOTH seen the new Indiana Jones movie. They have thoughts. And those thoughts start out well (with Phoebe Waller-Bridge) but end up in an ageing male action hero morass featuring Tom Cruise, James Bond and the whole shitshow. The episode is rescued by Lizzo and a new podcast that's reducing Crabb to helpless hysterics. It's been all interviews the last little while, so we thought it was about time we burned our listener stats and did another Hats and Brendo. It's largely inane waffle, but there's some good stuff in there too, including: Why Brendo takes his shorts off in my house. Bedtime For Bonzo (1951) and it's follow up, Bonzo Goes to College (1952) are films about a chimp named Bonzo. The first film is probably best known for starring future president of the USA, Ronald Regan. We were only going to talk about Bedtime For Bonzo, but we played the wrong film and it was a long way into it before we realised.I am joined by the very funny Sydney comedian Suren Jayemanne and the very lovely James Hingley (multi talented tech man and Stewart Lee's road manager).I'm touring my new stand up show Bone Dry in March/April (final legs in Melbourne and Sydney) Tickets/details: https://mattstewartcomedy.com/gigs Use the early bird discount code 'dogoon' Support the show on PatreonOur twitter: @PrimeMatesPodOur instagram: @primematespodFacebook: facebook.com/primematespodEmail: primematespod@gmail.comGot topic/primate suggestions for the show? What happens when Hollywood's monkeys and apes retire? I talk to Erika Fleury from NAPSA (the North American Primate Sanctuary Alliance) to find out!'NAPSA is a coalition of the leading primate sanctuaries in North America whose members care for over 800 nonhuman primates retired from laboratory research, the entertainment industry, and private ownership.' Erika is NAPSA’s Program Director and a pro-primatologist having studied undergrad and graduate level primatology courses. In 2013 Erika published her book Monkey Business: A History of Nonhuman Primate Rights. Her work has been featured live on CNN and in the New York Times, National Geographic, The Washington Post, and other media outlets, and she has published a variety of work advocating for responsible primate retirement.I'm touring my new stand up show Bone Dry in March/April (to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney) Tickets/details: https://mattstewartcomedy.com/gigs Use the early bird discount code 'dogoon' Support the show on PatreonOur twitter: @PrimeMatesPodOur instagram: @primematespodFacebook: facebook.com/primematespodEmail: primematespod@gmail.comGot topic/primate suggestions for the show? In 2014 Vice's Motherboard released a documentary about a "real planet of the apes" to tie in with the cinematic release of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The documentary's blurb: Our crew traveled to remote Liberia to discover 'Monkey Island,' an area inhabited solely by former lab tested chimpanzees who survived disease and two civil wars. We go to the island, interview the locals and meet the scientists involved in the testing facility 25 years ago.Trying to put aside the fact that this island which is solely inhabited by chimps is called 'Monkey Island', I am joined by returning guests Ben Russell and Stuart Daulman as we discuss this documentary. "Oh no, no, no, no", stressed Lindsay Schoolcraft when asked if Dani Filth is concerned that she is starting on a solo career. "He knows I'm committed to Cradle of Filth. He's really happy for me and so are the other guys in the band. They are like my second family and outside of Cradle we all do other musical projects on the side so they are excited for me. They are really great guys".After recently wrapping up an extensive tour with Cradle of Filth, Schoolcraft is now setting her sights on her first venture as a solo artist/D.J, and admits going it alone is tougher than she first envisaged."It's been a lot, a lot of preparation", she laughed. "I have just come off the Cradle tour and now have to pack again and I'm doing everything by myself! I was telling one of my friends earlier that I just kind of miss the fact that Cradle takes care of things usually (laughs) but it's all about time management and making lots of to-do lists. It keeps you in line. I've still got a lot more to do before I leave but it's coming together".In the full interview Lindsay discusses what to expect from her intimate run of shows from the solo material as well as her DJ'ing stint, why she chose Australia to kick off her debut solo tour, nerves and how they differ when you are one out instead of in a band situation, what inspired her to perform solo, her upcoming E.P Martyr and more.Sydney Tickets: https://events.ticketbooth.com.au/event/incursion-nyeMelbourne Tickets: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/schoolcraft-australia-tour-2018-melbourne-first-ever-headline-show-tickets-48474771346Perth Tickets: https://events.ticketbooth.com.au/event/lindsay-schoolcraft-perth-meet-greet-event
