“We were subject to an FBI sting. We were placed under surveillance, and we were able to discover the surveillance and get rid of it, but then for the next nine years we were living underground.” – Diana Block In this episode, Lani Hanna speaks to Diana Block about her life as an activist, organizer, and writer. Block was a founding member of San Francisco Women Against Rape and the Prairie Fire Organizing Committee. When her activism in support of the Puerto Rican Independence Movement attracted the attention of the FBI, she spent thirteen years living “underground” under a different identity. You will also hear Diana Block read from her novel, Clandestine Occupations, during the exhibition Armed By Design/El Diseño a las Armas: Posters and Publications of Cuba's Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia, and Latin America (OSPAAAL). Produced by Interference Archive. Music: “Fibonaci Effect in Two Movements” by Lanark, “El Danzon de Noventa Millas” by Cuban Cowboys, and “Pivoting on Salsa Key 11,” by Tracky Birthday, all courtesy of the Free Music Archive.

What if Jennie had embraced her inner Really Rosie, if Jackie had embraced The Cheddar and if Fred had lived in Camelot just a little while longer. MP3 Show Notes: Form: The 3fer: Three people, three stories, one theme and let’s see if they connect. Theme: What Might Have Been The music: Our opening and closing music is a selection from “Unlocked Door” used by permission of Alex Cook. Thank you Alex! If you want to hear the complete songs, check out Alex Cook’s bandcamp page and his website Stonebalancer “Do It All Over Again” by Muck and the Mires as featured on The Free Music Archive. Great garage band rock as originally featured on “Live at WFMU on Three Chord Monte on 7/16/10“. WFMU was super important in my heavy metal awakening back when I went to high school in New Jersey. How cool that we get to use it in a storytelling podcast! “Mr Cheeseman” by scomber on the digccMixter, a creative commons music library. Matt found this, and I absolutely adore this song, both for its evil perfection in the context of the podcast, but also the lyrics are just amazing in their own cheese-centric right. “Overdosie Rosie” by an artist named Tracky Birthday is one of the more awesomely disturbing songs I’ve heard in a while. I also found this one on the Free Music Archive. What a cool site! Storytellers: Jackie Vleck, Jennie Josephson & Fred Goss Part One: Jackie Vleck, “Of Turf and Cheddar” Part Two: Jennie Josephson, “I’m Really Rosie?” Part Three: Fred Goss, “I Dream of Camelot” Story Notes: In the intro to this week’s show, Fred told a great story from on set. In that story, “Liz” is Liz Meriweather, creator of New Girl on Fox. “She” refers to Zooey Deschanel, and “Prince” refers to FREAKIN’ PRINCE! Production Notes: Well, this week’s podcast featured amazing people, amazing stories, and less than perfect audio. For some reason, the audio on my mic split down the middle of both Jackie and Fred’s channel and made it sound (to my hyper-critical ears) a bit crap-tastic. And I recorded my final thoughts late Wednesday night on a mic at home, which was horribly over modulated, and I didn’t have the strength to re-do. Although I might go in the office today and fix that, b/c UGH. Also it was at least 90 degrees on the evening that we recorded this, and since we couldn’t run the A/C, I opened the window, which resulted in a more obvious room hum (coming from the machines on the roof). It’s not a deal breaker, but I wanted you to know that I noticed it! Ah well, you make every error at least twice, right? : )
Low Elo: The League of Legends Podcast for the Players - Low Elo
This week we talk TSM, speculate heavily on Riot's lore updates and review changes big and small in Patch 3.5 and on PBE. Oh yeah, and Jarvan. The Prince is OP. Our game this week asks you which champions are prime candidates for product sponsorship. You can send your contributions, questions, love letters and nature recordings to team@lowelo.com. You can follow the hosts at @LowEloDave @seeteefelts and @ThatDarkskeGuy. Also Jeff is awesome and you can follow him at @EatGamer because even though he's not in the show he actually writes all of these descriptions so I CAN DO WHAT I WANT! This episodes soundtrack is Salamander by Tracky Birthday.
