Reacting to Lakers' loss - they can't sustain energy like OKC, they're a championship team, we aren't. Everyone agrees the Lakers just aren't good enough - so is everyone just ok with them basically punting on this year esp with a 27-year-old star in Luka? Kap ended up with a toilet paper tail yesterday and walked around with it until someone pointed it out to him! The guys react to Lakers' GM Rob Pelinka talking about being aggressive at the trade deadline, and why sometimes that means “saying no.” Plus, what did he mean when he referenced that they will be taking on more of a "Dodger-style thinking" in how the front office operates? Kap asks Sedano how much input does Andrew Friedman have in Rob Pelinka's decisions about the team? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Ben & Woods start the 8am hour with Woodsy broadcasting at home from the office, or the "war room" as he described it, because today is Draft Day for his little league team that he will be managing this spring! Then we play a game of Real or Fake before the guys talk a little more baseball, and try to dissect what exactly dodgers fans possibly have to complain about right now? Listen here!
Welcome to Mic Check Episode 216 of Monday Night Raw (on a Tuesday this week)— where we indeed check the mics, then get straight into the real sports talk.We start with Braves Chop Talk and a moment Braves fans have been waiting on: Andruw Jones is officially a Hall of Famer. We talk about what he meant to Atlanta, why it took so long, and why this one hits different for Braves country. Then we pivot to the sports business side — because the conversations behind the scenes are starting to matter just as much as the games. We break down how the Dodgers' spending has owners talking salary cap, why MLB's labor situation could get tense fast, and what that could mean for the future of baseball. If you love the business chess moves, this is a segment to lock in on.From there, it's Hawks Talk — and it was a rough stretch: three games, three losses. We recap what went wrong, why rim protection and three-point defense are still major issues, and why some folks need to relax while the roster builds chemistry after recent moves. We also get into closing lineups, roles, and what needs to change if the Hawks are going to stabilize. We also shout out Coco Gauff for putting real support into HBCU tennis programs, because that kind of investment matters — especially for sports that usually get overlooked. And we wrap with a quick convo on the college hoops eligibility / G-League / NBA pipeline debate and why the “auto-correct” of the market always shows who's really ready. If you're rocking with The SplashCast with Reggie & Norwood, make sure you like, subscribe, and follow — more heat coming all week.#SplashCast #DiveTeamMedia #Braves #Hawks #MLB #NBA #HBCUChop Talk (03:30)Andruw Jones TO THE HALL OF FAME!!!!Braves sign young prospects Baseball News Around The League (08:00)Dodger broke baseballOwners want a salary capHawks Talk (19:45)Trailblazers (20:04)Celtics (26:00)Bucks (35:17)Koloko 2 way signing (45:30)NBA News Around The LeagueJimmy torn ACL 54:00Tennis/HBCUCoco Gauff gifts 150k to UNCF (57:25)ExtraWhat you think about players suing to comeback from the gleague to play college basketball? Tiki tries to keep it calm, Evan absolutely does not. Kyle Tucker is officially a Dodger, and the anger is not just about losing the player, it's about how the Mets ended up stuck with no clear direction again. Evan breaks down why the Mets' offer was real, why being “close” never matters against L.A., and how the Dodgers treat the luxury tax like pocket change. The conversation quickly turns into a full Mets identity crisis. No Pete Alonso, no obvious pivot, and spring training right around the corner. Calls pour in debating whether Tucker could survive New York, why stars keep choosing the Dodgers, and how the Mets are supposed to compete with Philly and Atlanta. Plus Evan drops a full conspiracy theory on Rob Manfred, MLB, and why the Dodgers dominating the sport might be exactly what the league wants.

He played 13 seasons with Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers, who chose him in the first round of the amateur draft. He appeared in a combined total of close to 1,500 regular season and playoff games combined, winning two World Series and being a two-time All-Star -- all of this coming in a Dodger uniform. He went on to 19 seasons as manager of the Angels, winning the World Series in 2002 and twice being named American League Manager of the Year. He was also the manager for the U.S. Olympic baseball team that took home the silver medals at the Summer Games in 2021 in Tokyo. Plus, he was at the helm of the U.S. national team at the 2024 WBSC Premier12, with the Americans finishing third.
The Red Sox missed out on Alex Bregman over a silly no-trade clause. The Cubs signed Alex Bregman but now might need to trade someone else. The Phillies are only in on Bo Bichette if they can get some other team to pay Alec Bohm and/or Nick Castellanos. All across MLB, even big-market teams are pinching pennies. Do they pass those savings along to the fans? Of course not! In Los Angeles, the Dodgers ownership remains committed to winning year in and year out. The 1975 Dallas Cowboys were a good organization led by General Manger Tex Schramm, Head Coach Tom Landry, and Quarterback Roger Staubach. But they were about to become a part of the sports world that 50 years later, love 'em or hate 'em, has stood the test of time. After beating the Minnesota Vikings in a playoff game on the original Hail Mary pass from Staubach to Drew Pearson, they were now America's Team. They were original, and they were innovative but mostly, they were just good. Lining up in shotgun, Roger the Dodger had his choice of weapons, and more often than not on 3rd downs, he would throw to #26 out of the backfield, Preston Pearson. The "other" Pearson, Preston had a big game against the Vikings. In fact, the man who never played college football, had a habit of having big games when they mattered most, and being on the field when the games were being decided. So despite the fact that it was Drew Pearson who caught the winning prayer vs the Vikes, it was Preston who was on the cover of the first issue of Sports Illustrated in 1976. The 14-year NFL veteran showed off his hops on that cover and said he had a pretty good game in that playoff win for the Cowboys. A week later, he had 3 touchdowns against the Rams that propelled the Boys to the Super Bowl. Preston takes us inside the huddle and tells us what it was like on that final winning drive for Dallas that included a 4th and 17 before Staubach and Drew Pearson hooked up again for that miraculous finish. He says despite being on the Steelers when they beat the Raiders on the 'Immaculate Reception', that this play is the biggest of his career. He remembers what it was like to lose Super Bowl III to Joe Namath and the Jets when he was on the Colts. The original 3rd down back, Preston Pearson made the most out of his talent and became an integral part of those great Dallas teams and he joins us on the Past Our Prime podcast to tell us what it was like when Dallas turned from the Cowboys into America's Team. Recorded live in Utah after a two year wait, this CONversation with Craig drops you straight into a packed room with Christopher Eccleston and an audience ready to sprint into Doctor Who territory at full speed. Craig kicks things off by digging into Christopher's take on Fagin in Dodger, including how you approach an iconic role that comes with real baggage. From there it turns into a smart, funny, occasionally sharp Q&A about stepping back into the Ninth Doctor with Big Finish, what it was like recording in isolation during COVID, and why the Doctor's loneliness is not a side note, it is the engine. Chris describes the character in a way that keeps the charm and the danger intact, calling him “a kind of a Robin Hood figure,” but still someone with “a slightly dodgy, no pun intended, moral compass.” He also connects that damage to the Ninth Doctor, which is a neat little bridge between Dickens and the TARDIS. He talks about recording during COVID with only a sound engineer, how quickly the character came back, and how audio acting has its own rules. You cannot rely on sprinting down corridors or flailing your arms like a windmill. There is a great exchange about villains and what actually terrifies people. Eccleston points out how one story was designed with adults in mind. “Oh, he's falling through time. He's alone as we all are...really.
