Lisa Ingarfield:  Dr. Ingarfield received her PhD in Intercultural Communication from the University of Denver in 2014. She is a co-founder of the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit and works on gender equity in sport and beyond. Her research focuses on how inclusion and exclusion manifests in communication practices in helping relationships and her work is broadly applicable to organizations looking to improve their diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. She is originally from London, U.K. and currently resides in Colorado. Dr. Ingarfield races triathlon regularly and is a certified RRCA and USAT coach, assisting runners and triathletes in meeting their racing and training goals. Sara Gross:  Sara Gross is a two-time Ironman Champion and holds a doctorate in women’s history. She founded Live Feisty Media as a way to celebrate fresh and empowered voices in triathlon and is the co-founder of the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit. This week on WiSP IronWomen Sara Gross and Alyssa Godesky are joined by Olympian and former 70.3 World Champion Joanna Zeiger. Joanna finished 4th at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and was the 2008 Ironman 70.3 World Champion. She is also a 2x Ironman Champion and 15x 70.3 Champion...and these are just some of her accomplishments. The talented Joanna also holds a PhD in Genetic Epidemiology from John Hopkins University. She is a researcher and coach and is on the board of directors for TriEqual, a non-profit organization that encourages diversity and equal opportunity in triathlon. Most recently, Joanna has turned her attention to the mental side of sports performance and she shares stories from the careers of successful elite athletes combined with thorough research in “The Champion Mindset: An Athlete’s Guide to Mental Toughness”. Sara and Alyssa get inside Joanna’s own mind, her personal story of success and misfortune and how she deals with chronic pain day to day. Multi-talented athlete Tara Norton joins Sara and Alyssa to explain how she ran a double marathon with a stress fracture in her femur and lived to tell the tale. Now a coach and a mom, Tara sets her sights on longer races and in 2016 took on the Ultraman triathlon in Hawaii - 10km (6.2mi) swim, 421km (261mi) bike, 84km (52.4mi) run. Known for mental toughness, Tara shares her wisdom and answers questions from the Women for Tri Facebook group. Sarah McPherson also drops by to talk about TriEqual's new initiative, Change Makers.
