MidState Checkdown HS Football Player of the Week Ty Collins - 300 total yards with 5 TD's QB @ Nolensville HS Post-game interview / presented by: Jackson Boone Racing
As usual, Dan opens with his top five ACC storylines of the week -- covering football, baseball, softball, and lacrosse. Then, Ty Collins of the ACC Network joins and the two give their athlete of the year for 2021-22 for each ACC school. Finally, Matt Sefcovic from Cards Chronicle hops on to discuss how NC State (and Notre Dame) were done dirty by the baseball selection committee and preview the ACC teams in their respective regions. We chat with Ty Collins, Co-founder of Rad Power Bikes
Kris Dunn sits down with Ty Collins, RHP/OF, from Los Angeles, CA. As an uncommitted senior, and arguably the nation’s top uncommitted talent, Collins has had an emotional 12 months. However, that experience has helped him decide where he will play in 2021 — he made that announcement on this podcast.
This week on the podcast we are going to learn about the booming popularity among RVers of Electric Bikes and out special guest is Ty Collins, the marketing director of Rad Power Bikes. Regular listeners know that Rad Power Bikes has been a loyal sponsor of this podcast for years now. But my interview with Ty is not a commercial. I asked him to come on the show to answer so many of the questions I get from RVers about ebikes. Show Notes for Episode #265 Oct. 23, 2019 of The RV Podcast: WHAT MIKE AND JENNIFER ARE UP TO THIS WEEK JENNIFER It's been another busy week of RV travel for us. Friends have joked that the day after we had the first frost of the fall, we were on the road headed to warmer climes. That's true! MIKE We are now on Okaloosa Island on the part of the Florida panhandle they call the Emerald Coat and we'll stay here pretty much through Thanksgiving, driving a few hours every Friday to Southwest Georgia where our so Matthew is a senior playing his last year of high school football. JENNIFER But though we surely love it down here (October and early November are fabulous months weather-wise on this part of Florida), we'll head back to Michigan for Thanksgiving and Christmas. MIKE And then it's our annual winter campout in the snow at Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan's snow-covered Upper Peninsula. The dates for the gathering are January 10-12, 2020. Here's a link to the details on our special RV Lifestyle Winter Campout group on Facebook. You have to join the group to read it but if you've never camped in the winter and want to try it out, request to join and you can join our winter fellow travelers. It's a ball. This part of the podcast is brought to you by Dish Outdoors, which lets RVers pay as they go and watch HD satellite television from wherever they are camped with easy to set up gear made with the RVer in mind. Just go to https://rvlifestyle.com/dish for details on the service and special deal just for listeners of this podcast RV LIFESTYLE NEWS OF THE WEEK JENNIFER Check out this interesting feature on the lone federal judge who oversees the wild court of Yellowstone Yellowstone National Park is one of Mike and my favorite American national parks. It is just such a unique place - so I read with interest a story that ran yesterday on the federal judge who works there. The judge handles all those crazy cases we write about from time to time - people trying to pet elk, walk on geysers, harass bison, etc. The judge also handles the more mundane things like drunk driving, domestic violence, and other issues that come up. If you are a person like us who is fascinated by everything Yellowstone, the story is well worth the read. MIKE Haunted campgrounds sure to send chills up your spine We've all heard of haunted houses, haunted corn mazes, but have you ever heard of a haunted campground? Outside magazine had an article on haunted campgrounds, just in time for Halloween. The story highlighted several campgrounds throughout the country that some considered haunted. Some of the places offer night time tours in late October. Halloween camping has become so popular many campgrounds sell out months in advance. JENNIFER Many express strong opposition at idea to privatize national park campgrounds and add WiFi, food trucks and other services As word spread of a proposal we shared with you last week to privatize campgrounds in some American national parks, so did opposition to the idea. An advisory committee recommended last week that American national parks turn to private companies to modernize the nation's campgrounds by adding WiFi, food trucks, limits to senior discounts, more rentals, etc. But opposition to these ideas is also rising, as various groups express concern saying they like getting away from modern life, enjoy the rustic feel, and are worried some would be priced out of updated, privatized campgrounds. This is a story we surely continue to be hearing more about in the weeks to come. MIKE

Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Let’s get started! Anonymous: Hello, I'm a 30 years old living in Australia. I'm working on parasites and candida overgrowth, and acne which is going well. I also have hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) - hands, feet and underarms. I sweat any type of weather, more when i'm nervous which is normal I suppose. If I have a few alcoholic drinks it seems to stop. Is this because alcohol is a depressant? i'm wondering if there are any labs that would be needed to work out the cause of this. Is my sympathetic nervous system overactive? Are there any other treatments I can do other than clinical antiperspirants, botox or surgery. Thank you Rachel: Hi Dr. Cabral, I love your podcast and hope to soon become a student of the IHP courses. I have so many questions I'd love to ask but shall keep it to the most important one for today. My mum has Waldenstrom's. She is 71 years old and was disgnosed 8 years ago. She has her blood tested every 6 months which her oncologist checks and is currently on 'watch and wait' which basically means nothing is being done about treating her until it gets worse... and when it does (which we've been told is inevitable because Waldenstrom's is considered to be an incurable cancer of the blood) then she will be treated with medications and various other treatments which I don't know much about but it sounds like there is often a fast deterioration from this point. I would like to help her now, before she gets to a point where these medications and approaches are the only option. I'm also frustrated that she has suffered from so many other health issues over the years and is constantly seeing other specialists and undergiing treatments for these but that no-one is willing to look at her body as one whole interelated system. I'm not sure how to best help her. She eats healthily and exercises regularly, doesn't smoke and rarely drinks and she believes she's doing everything she can to be healthy but I feel like there must be more we can do now to help her prolong the negarive effects of the cancer kicking in. And I also wonder if it's possible to reverse the diagnosis completely with the right actions. Do you have any advice for us in regards to all of this? Thanks in advance for your answer and for all of the work you do and your amazing podcasts!! Warmly, Rachel Richard: Hello Dr. Cabral. My name is Rich. I work as a firefighter in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been listening to your podcasts and love the information you are sharing. I also love that your goal is to help people achieve true health and wellness. I am very interested in taking your course to become an Integrative Health Practitioner. Where I would like to start using the information is within the fire department I work for. It is a large department with over 500 total employees. Firefighters are not typically that healthy, and have a long list of varying health problems which most treat with pharmaceuticals. I 100% believe that what you teach and practice is a better way to achieve health and not just mask the underlying problem. I am planning to approach my department admin to request they pay to send me through your courses so I can bring the information back to help our employees regain true health in both mind and body. We have annual physical exams with labs taken and I would like to see if we can include the labs you recommend in the future and I would like to learn how to read those labs and then move forward with suggestions to help people correct any abnormalities. Could you offer any recommendations or support as I move forward in this journey to make a healthier fire department? Thanks! Robin: Hello Dr. Cabral, My son has had ongoing bouts of nausea for the last 3 to 4 years. At this point he is coming up on the current bout lasting for nearly a year. We have run the gamut of testing over the years including allergies, ENT, hormonal, heart, mental/abdominal migraines, gastric emptying etc and there isn't really anything that is pointing us in the right direction. I have a friend, Ty Collins, who pointed me in your direction and recommended your Organic Acids Test lab as a possibility to help us figure out what is going on. We have done a lot of other testing as I mentioned above and are still unable to determine the cause of the issue. I was curious if there was any possibility of billing insurance for the testing. We have blue cross from CA. We are already well on our way to hitting our deductible for this year for testing for him and while I want to run this test, the cost is pretty high for us. Please let me know. Thank you, Robin Jody: Good morning, I just had a question about lab testing. My 15 year old daughter has symptoms consistent with Reynaud's. I understand that if we can figure out the root cause, we can likely get this to go away. Would the Omega -3 test be the best place to start with that? Victoria: Hello, I purchased the daily support in powered form. However I’m finding it hard to drink 2 smoothies a day. Is there anyway I can send back one powder and get it in pill form? Also does the daily support have everything I need it it as far as vit and minerals or does the daily multivitamin have other things I also need? Penny: Wondering what your thoughts are about blood testing for cancers. Lauren: IHP family.. please help! I’m getting more and more frustrated and don’t know what to do. I don’t want to go to my doctor because as we all know they will prescribe medicine where the goal is to get to the root cause. It is my EYES... and started almost 2 weeks ago. Woke up and one was very red and irritated- I had this before (about 18 months ago) they feel heavy and watery and look droopy. This is by far much worse than last time and just doesn’t seem to want to clear up. I have some better days but then wake up wanting to scratch my eyes out. I’ve tried various drops from the pharmacy- for allergies, dry eyes etc. I’ve bought new pillows and tries to eliminate some foods (I assumed at first I was taking too much greens powder - which has quite a lot of the grasses in). They are worst in the morning and seem to clear during the day... then I’m up a lot in the night I wake myself up scratching them. I really don’t know what to do. At the moment I’m on my own version of the Cabral detox as I don’t have access to the supppements um mainly doing two shakes (vegan protein, chia and frozen spinach with greens powder) a vegan lunch and protein dinner - no alcohol, dairy, red meat, gluten or eggs. I seem to have ongoing struggles with my eyes and know it can be linked to low blood sugar where I feel my vision is a little blurry but this is something else. I thought up to now it’s allergic rhinitis as I have been waking up sneezing and also congested and runny nose- I don’t know what to do or where to start to clear it up or find out what it is? Being in South Africa - I don’t have access to equilibrium testing- but there are a few functional doctors - I just need some guidance on a starting point please? My eyes are sore - red, itchy and irritated- mainly my left eye but at night I scratch both. Vision is clear just strained as they hurt. The bottom lids feel tender I think from scratching. There is no discharge - only sometimes just watery. Please help me start somewhere.. it’s now going on for 2 weeks and yes I have some better days but surely I can’t accept this is how it’s going to be? Thank you all in advance.... a range of pics- not sure it does them justice. My left eye dropps when it’s flared and the underneath are also puffy in the mornings. Don’t know what to do. Thank you Stephen and team Sam: I'm interested in buying the Big 5 test kit. Can you please tell me if I would be able to use my FSA (Flexible Spending Account) from my health insurance to pay for it? Shep Hyken sits down with Ty Collins. They discussed how to raise your prices without losing customers, why you should be transparent, and how to give customers the best experience possible. TOP TAKEAWAYS: Shep’s Opening Monologue:In Shep’s opening monologue he answers the question, what is the difference between a loyalty program and a marketing program? The Interview with Ty Collins:In July 2018, a 25% import tariff forced Rad Power Bikes to increase their prices. Because they created a unique experience and were transparent with their customers about the price increase, this did not affect sales.Rad Power Bikes decided to share their opinion about the trade tariffs publicly. This didn’t make every customer happy, but because they expressed their situation diplomatically, they were able to set the narrative and jump ahead of the issue.Because their customer experience and tech support teams are so passionate and fired up about their industry, it wasn’t difficult for Rad Power Bikes to convey the correct message to their customers.Ty likes to sit in with his customer experience team, answer customer emails, and listen to phone calls. No matter what your position is, everybody needs to spend a little time on the front line to hear the real voice of the customer. Most of Rad Power Bike customers never see the bikes in person before making a purchase. It’s the CX team’s job to ease the customer's concerns, build trust, and give them a memorable experience.Providing good CX doesn’t mean always saying yes. There will be times when you have to make hard decisions and say things the customer isn’t going to want to hear at the moment.ABOUT: Ty Collins is the Co-founder and CMO of Rad Power Bikes. He helped increase the company’s revenue to over $40M in just four years despite trade tariffs that forced him to raise his prices.
