Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks…   Stefanie: Hyperhydrosis issues here! I've always had sweat profusely pouring from my hands and feet, even as a child. I'm healthy, very in tune with my body, a professional bodyworker myself, and lots of nervous system regulation as well. It's worse when I am very focused, not necessarily nervous. Any ideas on why or how to help resolve this issue?             Lynn: I am very sensitive to caffeine and have been trying to find a good decaf matcha green tea (or another type if that one isn't available). I noticed you had a recommendation for regular matcha in your resource page, but do you have any recommendations for a caffeine-free, organic ceremonial grade matcha? Thank you                                    Lara: Hi, dr. C, hope you're all well..I'm wondering about XXXX ionic foot bath therapy that uses negative ions to get rid of toxins from the body.. it comes with a chart to tell you where your toxins are coming from by the colour of the water.. do you think it actually works? It seems like it would be a great tool if it did what it says it does, but you are my go-to person to ask these things.. thank you and happy healing to everyone !                                               Milan: Dr.Cabral, I am an IHP and have ran OAT, MycoTox and gut microbiom for my client. There was SIBO and SIFO, but no leaky gut and no elevated mold markers. While we have worked on dysbiosis, gut symptoms are all gone. There is one remaining symptom left - fungal patches in the groin and armpit area. Isn't it strange that there are no elevated levels of mold neither at OAT nor at MycoTox test? Can it be really only local on the skin and not systemic? In such case, am I thinking right that local application of Citricidal with coconut oil, colodial silver and tea tree oil should heal skin fungal infection? What could be the cause?                                                                                                                                         Terri: Hi Doc! I've been listening to you for years and love your podcast! Here's a question I haven't heard. About a year ago, my bloodwork showed a high TSH and thankfully, my PCP was on board with me trying an elimination diet and allowing me to test once a month. I immediately eliminated gluten, dairy and soy and within a month my TSH fell into a normal, although not ideal, range. When my TSH was high, I noticed a small bump at the base of my big toe. It disappeared almost completely when my TSH dropped and reappeared when I tried reintroducing dairy and soy into my diet. My TSH also went back up at the same time. Could the bump on my toe be related to the thyroid or is this just coincidence?? It seems to appear and disappear with variations in my TSH. Thanks & keep up the amazing work!             Thank you for tuning into this weekend's Cabral HouseCalls and be sure to check back tomorrow for our Mindset & Motivation Monday show to get your week started off right! - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3278 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr. Cabral's Book: The Rain Barrel Effect - - - Join the Community & Get Your Questions Answered: CabralSupportGroup.com - - - Dr. Cabral's Most Popular At-Home Lab Tests: > Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - Get Your Question Answered On An Upcoming HouseCall: StephenCabral.com/askcabral - - - Would You Take 30 Seconds To Rate & Review The Cabral Concept? Summary In this episode of The Future of Dermatology Podcast, Dr. Faranak Kamangar discusses hyperhidrosis, a common condition characterized by excessive sweating. The conversation covers the causes, prevalence, and various treatment options available, including topical treatments, botulinum toxin injections, oral medications, and advanced technologies like ionophoresis and miradry. Dr. Kamangar emphasizes the importance of patient education and setting realistic expectations for treatment outcomes.   Takeaways Hyperhidrosis is often diagnosed by patients before seeing a doctor. The condition can be debilitating and affects various aspects of life. Most cases of hyperhidrosis are primary, with few secondary causes. Topical antiperspirants are the first line of treatment. Setting expectations is crucial for patient satisfaction with treatments. Botulinum toxin is effective but can be painful for patients. Oral medications can be used but have contraindications. Ionophoresis is a viable option for some patients. Emerging technologies like microneedling for botulinum toxin show promise. Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis can affect just parts of your body, such as your hands, feet, underarms, or face, or it can affect your entire body. It can cause embarrassment and anxiety, and keep one from their daily activities. Some types of hyperhidrosis are localized on certain parts of the body and have no cause, while others involve sweating all over the body and are usually due to an underlying medical condition.

Sweating is a crucial way to reduce our body temperature, such as when doing strenuous physical activity or when in a hot environment. Hyperhidrosis is defined as excessive sweating beyond what is physiologically required or normal. It can be categorised as primary (idiopathic), secondary to other conditions, or as a side effect of some medications. Primary hyperhidrosis can affect people at any age, but often starts in early life. The diagnosis of hyperhidrosis is typically made initially on the clinical history, and this can also determine between primary or secondary hyperhidrosis. It is usually diagnosed where there is visible sweating, which interferes with daily activities and which has lasted for at least 6 months. In this podcast, Dr Roger Henderson discusses what to look for when making the diagnosis, what investigations to undertake and the range of treatments currently available.

Keeping employees safe, cool, and productive is essential in any work environment. The role heat stress plays was the topic of this episode of Keep Kuul with Portacool. Tyler Kern reached out to Klint Barton, Regional Manager for Automotive, Southeast Division at Portacool for his perspective.Barton understands the seriousness of heat stress because he has hyperhidrosis, which causes excessive sweating even without additional exposure to heat or exercise. “It was very hard, at times, to keep myself cool on hot days,” Barton said. “We're I'm at in Alabama, we deal with that issue quite regularly, during the summer especially.”Hyperhidrosis became a real issue for Barton when playing sports. “My body couldn't cool itself,” Barton explained. When the heat stress kicked in, Barton experienced dizziness to the point of blackouts. And Barton's issues continued in his work life, as he recalled his time working in a machine shop and experiencing heat stress. In one incident in the shop, while operating a saw in extreme heat conditions, Barton collapsed and split his chin open. He considers himself lucky that nothing worse occurred.

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes the body to sweat uncontrollably and unpredictably. Most commonly the hands, feet, groin, and underarms are affected; however, hyperhidrosis can also occur on the face and, rarely, the entire body. The cause of hyperhidrosis is unknown but doctors believe that an over-reactive sympathetic nerve response is the primary cause. High emotion, smells, sounds, certain foods and drinks, caffeine, or nicotine can trigger episodes. Hyperhidrosis can also occur with other conditions like Parkinson's disease, congestive heart failure, and diabetes. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/vet2vet/support
