Hi friends! I have a brand new podcast episode live, and today is a very special one — episode 200
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Pati: how do you lower and keep cholesterol low during early menopause and when you have Familial Hypercholesterolemia. I have 315 total /240 LDL/70HDL/50 Trig. I am 5.4 height, 120lb and gluten free and dairy free for 13yrs and eat very low carbs and sugar. Never taken statins because they make my joints hurt but had high cholesterol for years but 300 was my highest. What can I take that can help and what should i eat. Thank you Pati Anonymous: Hi Dr. Cabral. Just wanted to confirm. Podcast 3576 reviewed a PubMed study that gave a minimum daily dosage of 10,800 FU to obtain desired results. The podcast gave me the impression that your supplement exceeded the 10,800 FU/day since only the 20,000 FU number was given. However, 3 plus does per day would be needed? Please can you clarify? Proteolytic Enzyme supplement. Natto Serving dosage on label is - (20,000 FU/g) 150mg My understanding is Natto amount is 3,000 FU 20,000 FU/g x .150g =3,000 Is this correct? Ashley: Hi Dr. Cabral, I have a detox meal timing question for you. When I did my last set of the big 5 labs, my health coach told me that it would be OK for me to eat at 8 and 3 instead of 11:30 and 6:30 as I feel much better when I fuel my body in the morning. When I don't, I feel ravenous in the evening. However, the admin in the FB group disagreed and said I shouldn't do that. Can you please clarify and let me know how big of a difference it makes to eat later instead of earlier? I feel like if eating earlier in the day helps me actually stick to the foods I'm supposed to eat and I'm still fasting for the same lengths of time that it would be OK. If it's a bigger deal than I realize, will you please explain the reasoning? Thanks so much! Tommy: Hi Dr. C, I'm an IHP who's come a long way with healing, but I feel stuck for the remainder. I've attempted a detox only once in my life. After the 4th day I was so wiped out that I couldn't really even work. I've also got high heavy metals but the protocol causes me such histamine reactions (even at a lower dose) that I just can't see it through. I feel stuck, I play for a soccer team but even training is too hard on my nervous system and leaves me wired. Maybe I should just try gentler detox like sauna and castor oil packs but I'm not sure it will be enough, and the sauna may just deplete me further. I've suffered so much with health and I'm in a better place, but still much work left to do. Lou: Hi Dr. Cabral, I am 15 and listen to your podcast every morning on the way to school with my mom. I was wondering, what would you say are your 5 favorite books? Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Michael: Hi Dr. Cabral. I'm an IHP Level 1 and have been following you for over 2 years. I'm grateful for all you do. I'm a 61 year old male and take no medication. I've always had elevated cholesterol but it's come down a lot over the last 2 years. I now have LDL of 108. My CRP is in the normal range at 0.41. My homocysteine is also in the normal range at 8.9. My coronary calcium score from almost 3 years ago is 129. I want to make sure my heart stays healthy and want to be smart about what supplements to take apart from the foundational ones like the DNS and Omega 3. If I take all the supplements that promote a healthy heart, it gets a bit expensive and I was wondering if you thought about formulating one supplement to combine some of them. I'm currently taking D3+K2, Red Yeast Rice, Berberine and Inflamma Soothe, and I'm considering adding in Proteolytic Enzymes. What are your thoughts on which ones to prioritize? Lily: Hi Doc, I am taking the foundational supplements and magnesium. I know that everyone is different and the personal approach is best (I just ordered your new book). But, if you had to say, beyond the foundational supplements, what are your next 4 favorite supplements? Tommy: Hi Dr C, I'm An IHP 2. I've come a long way with my health and career thanks to you. I've had many issues in life similar to you. In the last 2 years I feel like I've become very prone to gut issues. I've done 2 para and 1 CBO in the last year. I seem to get bouts of dhiarrea like I've picked up a bacteria. I have wondered if my stomach acid is low, being an online presence is stressful, but I'm working on my stress more than ever. What else could cause me to have a 'weak stomHawkins: ach'? I still get anal itching too, sometimes during the day, I know you've mentioned this could also be histamines and not just parasites. I've had so much trauma, antibiotics, and 14 years of steroid creams. I've had low cortisol too which I believe is much better now. Scott: Hi Stephen. (Scott UK) . My wife had a routine operation (9 operations in total) and ended up with stomach problems diagnosed with gastroparesis, well that's what they said, she ended up with a feeding tube and an ileostomy, in the last couple of years she's really turn thing around she's back to solid food and she hasn't fed on her feeding tube for 9 to 10 months now, she's gaining weight and looking really healthy, she's 53 and going through menopause, she's been diagnosed with carpal tunnel and trigger finger in both hands, and both thumbs are now stuck straight, she takes half of a scoop of DNS and greens powder, D3k2. magnesium, zinc, omega 3, infrared sauna, red light, 7000 steps, they want to operate on both hands, which I'd like to avoid, any suggestions would be very helpful. Stephanie: Hi! I had a full work up done and it showed my prolactin level is 95. CRP also elevated, but everything else within range. I am willing to go see an endocrinologist, but I am hesistant to take the cabergoline (I've read that's likely how they will proceed). Is there anything else I can do? I started taking Vitex Berry when I got the results. Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: S: What's the deal with smoothies? Why are they recommended so much? Not just by Equilife but from a lot of other wellness practitioners. In general I find they don't satiate me for long and could end up causing me to overeat in the long run. But more than that, I developed a different issue. I found Equilife, as it seems many have, when experiencing gut issues (probably post infectious IBS) and looking for answers. My issues kept coming and going. Then I started to realize it was aggravated during detoxes. (This all evolved over a year and a half.) I finally discussed with AI. In a nutshell, AI suggested I eat warm foods only, cooked veggies. Eat foods in a particular order. This wasn't high risk so I tried this advice. It helped so much. So now I wonder, is it really best to recommend smoothies for everyone? Especially when the detox with shakes or smoothies are recommended as a starting point before other protocols? Seems like if smoothies were to be recommended, it might be better post gut healing? (I now remember a Chinese medicine practitioner telling me years ago that warm food is better for a sensitive gut. I had forgotten that temporarily.) Btw - it's all cold or raw food that can be too much for me right now. Not just shakes or smoothies but I also tested these things alone, outside of the detox. I just see smoothies recommended as nutrition for all kinds of reasons and to people with all kinds of gut issues and don't really hear anyone discuss when it is not good for some of us. Now I just need to figure out how long to heal before I can add back cold food and raw veggies at times. I miss my carrot sticks but glad my gut is happier. So why are smoothies such a thing in the wellness community? Katie: Thank you for everything you have done and taught me. I had a Prenuvo scan done (thank you for the code) and found that I have a small pineal gland cyst, multiple kidney cysts, a syrinx in my spinal cord and a cyst on my cervix. I lived a very unhealthy first 33 years, but have been living clean the last 3. Big 5 showed bacterial overgrowth, mold, candida, heavy metals, mitochondrial dysfunction, high manganese, high bedtime cortisol, and low T3. Hormones and omegas were optimal. What is the root cause of cyst formation? Besides going through protocols and proteolytic enzymes is there anything else I should do? Of course, not looking for diagnosis or treatment plan. Liz: Hi Dr. Cabral, I am a 36 year old female with no history of health problems before the last 2 years. On June 26, 2024 I underwent an XILF lumbar fusion surgery to fuse my L4/L5 because of chronic back pain. I soon found that this was the biggest mistake of my life. I haven't been the same since. I have been experiencing unrelenting, chronic nausea and abdominal discomfort on a daily basis. I also experience brain fog and chronic fatigue. As such, my performance at work has significantly decreased, my mood has been at an all time low, some days I can't even get out of bed. I wish I never had the surgery, had I known my quality of life would have plummeted so drastically. I've gone to countless specialists (a gastroenterologist, endocrinologist, rheumatologist, an ENT, neurologist, OBGYN, Accupuncture, even tried Reiki, and every test result shows unremarkable/normal results. I recently went to pain management and they gave me an epidural after seeing significant scar tissue around the surgical site. I am not experiencing any relief. In fact, I think I feel worse. I am getting married in May and want to start a family but have not been able to get myself right since my surgery. I'm scared I'll never be able to find relief. I don't know where else to turn or what else to do. I just want to get back to normal again and enjoy my life. If there's anything you can think of that I can try, I'll do it. I'm at my wits end. Please help me. Rebecka: Hi Dr. Cabral. I have recently been diagnosed with Anemia. I have not been told the specific type of Anemia. I feel terrible 24/7. My symptoms include fatigue, weakness, dizziness, chest pain and shortness of breath. I feel this is an off and on chronic problem as I have realized I've been having these symptoms for years. My RBC are low, my retic is low and low lymphocytes. Mcv and mch values were high on my CBC. Vitamin b12 and folate normal and my TSH was what I considered low normal. I also experienced a hot flash after lunch every day. I am very petite at 5ft 1 and 95-100lbs and I am 43 years old. What tests should I be doing to figure out the root cause of my anemia? I know hormones and stress can play a role as well. I live a very stressful lifestyle working full time with 2 young daughters. On top of all this, I had an ultrasound of my abdomen in December. It showed biliary sludge and a 2cm hemangioma on my liver. Are there and herbs to dissolve the sludge before it causes any more pain or complications? I would just like to feel "good" again and live a somewhat normal life. Please help me. Renee: Hi Dr Cabral, Firstly thank you for your dedication to helping people globally find answers to their health challenges. I am an IHP lv 2 and would greatly appreciate any advice on a client with CIDP (MADSAM syndrome) — Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy. A 62 yr old male, fit, dealing with symptoms for 2 yrs, legs are weak and seem to be getting weaker, continues to experience widespread fasciculations (nerve twitching), which are now also affects his hands. His neurologist has recommenced treatment with IVIG (Intravenous immunoglobulin) to address what body is doing to the nerves. I will be having him on the DESTRESS protocol and highly recommending the Big 5 to get to the root cause. Your thoughts on using IVIG along with removing toxicities and replacing deficiencies would be extremely appreciated as I am very keen to help him reverse this and get his life back. Thanking you in advance. Hi friends! I have a brand new podcast episode live, and today we're diving into a topic that so many women are confused about but deeply affected by: perimenopause. I'm joined by the amazing mother-daughter duo, Candace and Jess from Your Hormone Balance, and we're breaking down what perimenopause actually is, why it can start earlier than most women expect, and how chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation play a huge role in hormone imbalances, fatigue, mood swings, weight gain, and more. This episode is especially for you if you're in your 30s or 40s, feeling "off" in your body, struggling with sleep, energy, anxiety, or changes in your cycle - and being told everything is "normal." Here's what we chat about: What perimenopause really is (and why it's an 8–10 year transition, not a single moment) The early signs of perimenopause, including changes in your cycle, mood, sleep, and energy Why progesterone is often the first hormone to decline — and how that impacts anxiety, PMS, and stress tolerance How chronic stress, overworking, under-eating, and people-pleasing disrupt ovulation and hormone balance The connection between nervous system dysregulation and symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, bloating, and low libido Why so many women are estrogen dominant — and how stress drives that imbalance The importance of hormone testing (and why symptoms alone don't tell the full story) Simple, realistic nervous system practices to lower cortisol and support healing Breathwork techniques like the "physiological sigh" to calm anxiety in real time Everyday vagus nerve tools: humming, singing, grounding, and gentle movement How boundaries, asking for help, and reducing people-pleasing can literally improve your hormones Why heavy, painful, or irregular periods are not something you should ignore The role of protein, nourishment, and avoiding extremes with exercise and caffeine This episode is such a powerful reminder that your body isn't broken; it's responding to the life you're living. And with the right tools, support, and awareness, you can move through perimenopause feeling calmer, stronger, more regulated, and more in tune with your body. I hope you enjoy this episode! Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Cassie: Hi Dr. Cabral, I truly enjoy your content and am hoping to start your IHP curriculum within the next year. My question is about the safety of Cyperus Rotundus oil. It is noted to reduce hair growth when paired with hair removal methods such as waxing or laser. However, I have seen a study mentioning that its effects on hair growth are due to it's antiandrogenic properties, which would make me think it would only be beneficial in removing hair growth that was directly due to androgenic hair. Do you know anything about Cyperus Rotundus oil and its effectiveness or safety? I am always cautious about remedies, natural or otherwise that could affect hormones as I have had major hormone imbalances in the past and know that my body is sensitive to hormone fluctuations. Curious if this oil truly does have antiandrogenic properties or not, I am reading through some of the studies to try and understand but would appreciate your expertise. Thank you! Darren: Good day Dr. Cabral. I've been seeing all over social media where posters show studies indicating Older fathers (35+) are associated with increased birth risks/defects. Any truth to this or is it because some older men lead unhealthy lifestyles? HC: Thank you for sharing your wealth of informaiton to HELP so MANY Of US!!! Do hydrogen tablets provide all the health benefit claims? I cannot afford home hydrogen water system and looking for alternatives. At home we use Berkey counter system as I take totally trust your recommendations. THANK YOU!!! Anonymous: Hi Dr Cabral. My daughter is 10 and gets acid reflux. It's noticeable on her teeth and she complains about it after certain foods every now and then. We have had a stool test done here in Australia which was negative for H.pilori and have seen a paediatrician but they recommended putting something down her throat to have a look, but if we can I'd like to avoid that as she has already had to go under for a surgery before so I'm not keen on her going under again. My partner and his family get acid reflux. Over time my partners has gotten better but he has really brittle teeth so I'm wanting to get on top of it while my daughter is young to avoid this happening to her. Would really appreciate your advice Thank you so much! Jackie: Hi Dr Cabral, thank you for all that you do. I have been using for 10 days and the very intense itching/flushing (why I took it) has become much more frequent and intense? Typically a warmer room or high stress event could cause me to get this deep internal itch/flushing sensation, now it is happening without a distinct trigger. If I sweat with a "ginger bath or cardio" symptoms are gone for about 2 hours. Any thoughts as to what could be happening? Many high-performing entrepreneurs push through fatigue, burnout, and declining health without realizing how deeply it's impacting their business, relationships, and long-term success. On today's episode, we're joined by Eric Lofholm, business coach and entrepreneur, who shares how restoring his own health became the turning point not only for his energy and focus, but for the way he shows up as a leader and coach. Eric opens up about navigating exhaustion while running a business, what led him to work with an Integrative Health Practitioner, and how rebuilding his health reshaped his beliefs around productivity, consistency, and sustainable success. He explains why authentic visibility is one of the most powerful ways health coaches and entrepreneurs can grow their business, build trust, and attract aligned clients. We also discuss overcoming fear of rejection, reframing outreach as service, and why accountability, long-term client relationships, and belief in your ability to help others matter more than perfect messaging or credentials. If you want to learn how prioritizing health fuels business growth, how to show up more authentically online, and how to build a purpose-driven coaching practice rooted in service and sustainability, tune in to today's Integrative #HealthCoachSuccess episode 423. Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Tricia: Hi Dr Cabral - I'm writing in for my brother. He is a 73-year-old male who has been healthy his entire life. No major illnesses. I noticed a few years ago his head would slightly bob along with his hands. So slight that he doesn't notice. I think he could have a vitamin deficiency. Unfortunately, I can't get him to do any of your labs or detox, but I do have him on your DNS, veggie blend, renewal system, fish oil, eye, magnesium, and Vit d. Do you have any ideas what this might be? If I could get him to test, which test would you recommend? My grandmother did shake Alicja: Hello Dr.Cabral, I hope you're having a great day. My question is about heart rate. I wear smart ring that detects high heart rate during periods of time when I seat a lot and the only activity would be: getting up occasionally from my desk to walk to kitchen or bathroom. I do 10k steps per day, every day and I exercise every other day for 30-50 min alternating between: hot yoga, pilates, jogging and resistance training. Most of my walking and exercising is done in the first half of the day. During walking or exercising my heart rate is pretty steady, not very high, usually below 120 (except for running) but often the highest heart rate of my day I get in the second half of the day when I don't do any physical activity. It doesn't make sense to me. Why would my heart rate jump to 135 when I don't exercise or do any big activity? I'm 42 and I have low blood pressure. (if that matters) Tricia: Hi Dr. Cabral - Do you mind telling me if I'm taking all of your supplements below correctly? Honestly, I would love to work with an IHP but affording all the supplements is all I can do right now. I've been doing this since June of 2025. Upon waking - 2 proteolytic enzymes, 30 minutes later 3 of the sinus and immune support (only during cold season) and daily probiotic. Roughly 2 Hours later right before my morning DNS smoothie (am Metavolve, 2 eye vitamins, 2 cell boost, collagen & D3K2 drops in smoothie). With Lunch 2 hair vitamins and 3 inflamma soothe. Dinner (2 pm Metavolve, 2 fish oil) An hour before bed 2 Full Spectrum Magnesium. I started this protocol to help with lowering inflammation, joint stiffness and pain and it has been a game changer. I exercise daily and eat your Med diet recommendation and literally you gave me my life back so I thank you so very much. My health journey is still a work in progress, but I will get there! I just started Metavolve two months ago. I really like it. I haven't been able to give up all my berries and sweet potatoes but I'm going to try again Jan 1! P.S. I love your new book! Scott: Hello Stephen, happy holidays!! I'm writing in about my mother. She's 69 years old with coronary artery disease. 2 years ago she had 2 separate procedures to remove considerable blockage. Then, this past September, she had it done again. All together 4 stints, 2 in her widow maker. She hasn't drank alcohol in 10 yrs and quit smoking for over 2 years, although her previous lifestyle was lacking in many areas which I'm sure built up to her CAD. There's heart issues within the extended family, but, I know its not just genetics. She has done EXCELLENT zeroing in on her diet after this last round of surgery and she has felt the inflammation in her body pretty much disappear. She still, once in awhile, gets winded, which I can understand her being weary to go too long on the upright bike. She has researched online and food seems really restricted like salt intake, sugar and even really healthy things like Xtra virgin olive oil, which says only 2 tablespoons a day....that seems odd. She's on a certain type blood thinner but her heart doctor gave the okay for omega 3's and was really happy when she read the ingredients on the DNS bottle. I have her on EquiLife supplements since the first surgery; Omega 3's, Vitamin C., Vitamin D3, DNS, B-Complex, Cal-Mag, Balanced Zinc, the new Pea Protein, and collagen from another company (but it's clean) As an IHP level 1 and starting level 2, I'm trying to help her the very best I can. I suggested lime w/ a pinch of sea salt for an electrolyte morning drink but she's too cautious of the salt intake. I'd love for her to try a 21 day detox, she doesn't think she can do all the fasting days except maybe the first 2 days. Even the 14 day detox would be good too, but, would these be too hard on her with her condition, especially when CAD patients are restricted from eating even the healthiest of foods like olive oil? The literature says CAD patients do not have a long time once they have that condition, but, I'm trying to my best to extend her years, she is our family's rock. Thanks for all you do Stephen, you are a mentor sir!!! Sienna: Hi Dr. Cabral - it would be incredible to hear YOUR WHY behind formulating Daily Nutritional Support and the Dr. Cabral Detox, and how this came about? From listening to your podcasts these are strong foundations behind your brand and recommendations. Also, what would you list as the "12-supplements in one"? Thanks for all you do. Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Sheena: Hi Dr C! Hope you and your team are well. I've been hearing a lot about colostrum lately and it piqued my interest. Can you speak a little about it? Do you use it? Is there a brand you would recommend? Is it safe for anyone? Who should avoid it? Side effects? I take a probiotic everyday, can colostrum replace this?? Looking forward to hearing your response. Thanks in advance! Frankie: Hi Stephen, My name is Frankie Im 21 years old, and I wanted to follow up from Episode 3382, where you mentioned my symptoms could be connected to gut issues, low vitamin D, magnesium, metals, or GERD. Since then, I followed a strict LPR diet for about two months no gluten, coffee, alcohol, peanuts, oats, onions, garlic, broccoli, beans, etc. My LPR symptoms improved by around 70%, and while I still have some mucus in my throat, its nowhere near as potent as before. During and after the protocol, I focused on rebuilding my gut with some gut-rebuilding supplements and slowly reintroducing foods. Its now been about three months since finishing the protocol, and Ive gained around 14 pounds. I also still deal with loose stool almost every day, which hasnt improved much. It’s honestly shocked me because Im very dialed in with both my food and workouts, yet the weight gain and digestive changes still happened. I wanted to get your thoughts on what direction to take from here. I havent run the Big 5 protocol since Im based in Canada, and it would end up costing quite a bit more with shipping and exchange rates. Also, I just wanted to mention its surprising how many young people my age are struggling with digestive and gut related issues. Its becoming way too common. Thanks again for all the work you do, and I hope you have a great day I listen to you every morning. Frankie Gary: Hi Dr. Cabral. Im 49, male & over the last 4 years taken a deep interest in my health. I had cerebral malaria (2003) & as a result developed essential tremor both hands. Listened to 2 podcasts & working on noticeable triggers like ltd caffeine & alcohol. It hasnt got worse, but really is there any way to reverse it? Neurologist says surgery has no guarantee. I would value the truth & if it were your wife what you would do please. So much life ahead 🙠(PS. Partner is an IHP so DESTRESS at the heart of our approach) we want to do EVERYTHING we can. Thank you Sienna: Hi Dr. Cabral - so excited about your new Pea Protein, got great feedback from the support team, however would love your response. Pea Protein safe for kids? Since DNS is I would approach it in same way, Dr. AI says generally kids get enough from food so not recommended… Do you give this to your daughters in same way you have it? Ie a little more protein in smoothies *daily* or just in baked goods like pancakes occasionally. Thank you! Happy holidays Anonymous: What are some ways to improve gut motility, I'm already on a supplement program and ginger tea. Any thoughts on massage abdominal, hot stones, any other physical techniqes? Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Lara: Hi, dr. Cabral! Hope you and your family are well.. I'm wondering about some ingredients in supplements, how to know which are ok? Have you maybe done a podcast about it ? It would be great to have a check list when it comes to supplements, please.. For example, gellan gum? You've said xanthan gum is not ok, guar is ok, what about the others? And I am wondering about other ingredients as well, fillers and additives.. which are ok and which are not Thank you so much! Happy healing to everyone! Rachel: Love your podcast thank you for all you do and hope to become an IHP one day! Anyway, this question is about my Dad. I have been doing some research, but would love your advice. He is 66 years old with diabetes and takes metformin. He has recently developed the early onset of neuropathy in his foot. What can he do to help slow the progression or even reserve the neuropathy? Supplement suggestions or diet advice? Thanks so much! Sarah: Hi Dr. Cabral! Will you please suggest an all natural method to get rid of flat warts I have all over my legs? I did run the big five labs and I've been working on all the imbalances for six months now, but the flat warts have not budged. Thank you so much for all you do! Tony: Hello Dr. Cabral, Suffered some early trauma and have had chronic stress most of my life. Never ate vegetables and fruits growing up. Now, @34 I have sibo, dysbiosis, leaky gut and nervous system dysregulation. Working on them with the DESTRESS protocol, and therapy. Wondering how to introduce new foods. I'm not kidding when I say I've been on a restricted diet my whole life and new foods cause immune flares and can tank me for a few days. I'm sure like the graduated exercise program in IHP, it's about introducing them slowly and letting the immune system adapt, but wondering if you had any tips on food expansion. Ran the big 5. Low potassium/sodium. DHEA of 3, some yeast and fungal markets elevated. Want to regulate nervous system and repair my gut over the next 12 months. Thanks! Kelsey: Hi Dr. Cabral! Hoping you can shed some light on this. After coming off hormonal birth control earlier this year, my cycle has been irregular and my PMS symptoms have become intense. I'm wondering how long it typically takes the endocrine system to rebalance? I'm also curious if supporting the liver or increasing certain micronutrients might help speed the process. Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Lynette: I have Celiac Disease and worry about cross-contamination when eating at restaurants or friends' homes. People have suggested taking a gluten digestive enzyme, but I don't want to digest gluten. Is there anything I can take prior to eating that would rid my body of gluten, should I unknowingly come into contact with it? I'm a "silent celiac" so don't experience immediate GI upset, but instead suffer joint pain, headaches, and skin issues afterward. Living gluten-free out in the world is tough, so any suggestions to make things easier and safer are appreciated. Thanks! Anonymous: I received a complimentary bottle of CBD Gummies -- thanks! Are there any contraindications with taking them? I'm thinking about them for my older parents, who are on the typical American old-age pharmaceuticals, including high blood pressure medication, statins, and Gabapentin. Will the gummies help with general aches and pains? Thank you. Sarah: I did labs through Equilife and found that my testosterone and DHEA were significantly low. For reference, I am a 49 year-old perimenopausal female. I started using about 8 mg of DHEA orally daily. (at that point I had 25 mg capsules I was splitting) Within three days of starting I had some longer lasting cystic acne on my face starting to appear. I gave it a few weeks to resolve and then began 25 mg of 7 keto DHEA daily and have had no acne breakouts at all. On my call with my IHP through Equilife to follow up from the labs, I was told that 7 keto DHEA is the same as regular DHEA and is likely just a marketing tool. Can you tell me why I reacted significantly different to the 7 keto DHEA? Several companies, some quite reputable sell it, do you recommend it in my case? Anonymous: Hello, I appreciate the work you do, and would like your input to help me make a purchasing decision. I wanted to buy some Japanese selvedge jeans and notice they contain 2% Polyurethane. I had difficulty establishing whether the use of Polyurethane in clothing is harmful and wanted to know if you could direct me to resources which could provide me with more insight on this topic? Please let me know. Anonymous: I struggle with brain fog and low energy in the afternoons, even though I get enough sleep. Could this be related to blood sugar balance, and if so, what are some easy ways to stabilize it throughout the day? Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Sami: Hi Dr. Cabral! I'm currently in level 1 IHP certification program right now and loving everything so far. I'm even going to try the 14 day detox soon. Anyways my question pertains to myself that I've been struggling with for a bit. I'm a 24 year old female who lives a pretty healthy lifestyle but the one things I can't seem to figure out is why my face turns bright red and I get a hot flashes when I speak to people about 60% of the time. It happens at random times and with random convos. Is this something happening internally that could be causing this? Any recommendations?? Matt: Hey Dr. C! I have pretty good oral health. I use a tongue scraper, floss, FYGG toothpaste and I brush 2x a day. I also use their oral breath mints. However, my wife still tells me that my breath smells bad. Obviously, I don't want this. Lol. I don't want to use conventional toothpaste/mouthwash since there's a lot of chemicals in there. Would love to hear your take on this. Thanks for being the man the myth and the legend! -Matt Della: My right foot has been extremely dry for the past couple of years. Left foot, Normal, no dryness whatsoever. What could possibly be the reason? Help! Rachel: My teenage daughter has been struggling with acne, and we've tried multiple topical treatments with limited results. Could diet or gut health be playing a role, and if so, where should we start? 10/2 Yvonne: My cholesterol labs have increased from previously: total cholesterol is now 6.44 (Normal range: below Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - Get Your Question Answered On An Upcoming HouseCall: StephenCabral.com/askcabral - - - Would You Take 30 Seconds To Rate & Review The Cabral Concept? Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Lorenzo: Hi Dr. C — We spoke briefly during the September 11th IHP live Q&A about Uterine Fibroids. I've been digging into whether progesterone-only birth control pills contribute to fibroid growth, but the research is all over the place—some say yes, some no, and some say it depends on if the person is taking Progesterone & Estrogen BC, as well as other individual factors. I've linked a few studies below and would love if you could do a deep dive on this to help demystify the topic. I always appreciate your unbiased take and how much your work has helped me and my clients! Thanks! Research Links: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7762035/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37190026/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3184215/ Angela: Hi Dr. Cabral. I was wondering if you can do a show or comment on vagus nerve stimulation and what your thoughts are on it. I am current using one called Vagustim. I heard of another person using it and helped them with gut health. I have a very stressful job and I am trying to calm myself at night. The stress most likely has caused slow motility leading to SIBO. I think you mentioned you were going to do a podcast on this topic. Thank you. Anonymous: Hi Dr. Cabral, I had a colonoscopy done recently. Everything was fine except that they found 1 innocuous polyp (now excised) and a dark colored colon. Due to the color, they asked me if I take stimulant laxatives, which I do not with regularity. Ive probably taken 2 bottles of Senna in my life, so I dont think that would be the cause. I rarely take stim. laxatives due to dependance risks. I do take mag07 every day, which is oxygenated mag oxide to help with bio-availability. I wanted to ask if you would know what else might cause this darkening? Are there any health issues that could be the cause? Im 40 and have been diagnosed with functional dyspepsia and mild gastritis from an endoscopy. Thanks Jessica: Hi Dr. Cabral..I love my work as a hairstylist but I'm worried about my long-term exposure to chemicals. I don't want to give up my career but I also don't want to end up with chronic health issues from repeated exposure. What steps can I take on a regular basis to help reduce my risk and protect myself while continuing to work? Thank you so much! Ryan: I am a 48 year old man , used to be a high end athlete and still like to work out 3x a week so have muscle still but cannot lean out and have lots of fat too. I am 6'1 320 lbs but don't look overly fat. I am concerned for met healthy and organs with this heavy weight. I have Avery bad habit of waking up in middle of night and binge eating - thinking that's my problem but I am half asleep when I do it and have no control, how can I fix this ? Also if you have any healthy daily routines I would to hear them. Hi friends! I'm SO excited to share this week's episode with symptom support coach Rachel Reimer, where we explore the fascinating connection between emotions and the body, and how unprocessed stress can show up as chronic symptoms, pain, and even autoimmune issues. Rachel shares how she helps clients uncover the emotional roots of their physical ailments - bridging the gap between traditional medicine and emotional healing. This conversation is such an eye-opener if you've ever felt stuck in your healing journey or wondered what your body might be trying to tell you. Here's what we discuss: Rachel's path from chronic illness to becoming a symptom support coach, also known as a medical intuitive How the body uses symptoms as a signal that something deeper needs attention The difference between intellectual and emotional processing of stress How to identify unresolved emotions that may be stored in the body Common emotional roots behind conditions like back pain, thyroid issues, and autoimmune disease The link between self-criticism, Type-A tendencies, and chronic illness Rachel's “knot” exercise for emotional release and symptom relief Real-life client transformations—from chronic pain to deep emotional healing Why physical healing alone isn't enough without emotional integration And so. much. more! This one's for anyone who's ever said “I've tried everything” and still hasn't found answers: Rachel's perspective just might change the way you think about your health forever. Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: BM: Hi Dr Cabral! I'm 40y.o. m. Big5 Dec24:1)IgG High-0, Moderate-3(wheat, eggs, chili p.), Low-21, yeast-normal, candida alb-moderate;2)Omega3-11%;3)M&M: elevated mercury, aluminum;4)OAT: candida overgrowth. Jan-Jul2025: 7day detox>CBO protocol>CBO finisher 2 months. Followed sensitive gut guide. Didn't do heavy metals detox, intestinal cleanse. Aug25 IgG (EquiLife (EL)): high12; moderate 38, low 42, yeast-moderate, candida alb-moderate. Working with EL coach. EL coach, your podcasts suggest this is leaky gut. EL wellness plan (Aug25): 7d detox>para protocol, clean gut prob., Healthy gut support, GSE drops>heavy metals detox. Eliminate: all in high+gluten, yeast (have not started yet). Am I on the right path and have you seen such cases in your practice? what is likely root cause? Thank you. Lisa: Can you recommend what to do or take if I experience abdominal pain or discomfort while vacationing in Europe later this fall? I'm concerned that access to the “right” foods might be tough while on the cruise and touring. Currently I'm in the last month of my CBO protocol and have also completed the 14 day detox and 7 day intestinal cleanse . All will be completed before I leave for Europe. Thank you, Lisa Susy: Hi dr Cabral, my minerals and metals test showed that my zinc is optimal and copper is very low even after supplementing with zinc and copper and the DNS for 3 months. But I've noticed that copper is usually not recommended on its own by an IHP. However I've heard some practitioners say that zinc can inhibit proper copper absorption or at least take longer to get optimal levels of copper if taken with zinc. What are your thoughts on that? Or is it possible to get to much zinc if I keep taking it together? Bettina: Hi Dr. Cabral, My husband recently purchased a testosterone supplement he came across—probably via Instagram—and I wanted to ask your opinion on the ingredients. Magnesium oxide Ginseng extract (Panax ginseng) Muira puama extract (Ptychopetalum olacoides) Fenugreek extract (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) Fillers (microcrystalline cellulose) Zinc citrate Anti-caking agents (cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose, magnesium salts of fatty acids) Stabilizer (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose) Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) Pyridoxine hydrochloride (Vitamin B6) Black pepper extract (Piper nigrum) Coating agents (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, polyethylene glycol) Coloring agent (calcium carbonate) Do you think this combination is safe and potentially effective? Thanks for your help on this :-) Svetlana: Hello Dr.Cabral, after reading your book and listening to your podcasts I've made many positive changes to my lifestyle, one of them is taking the DNS for breakfast. I'm losing weight now (desired), but it takes me very long to finish the shake and I'm wondering if that's not a good thing in the long run since it keeps my insulin levels up without a break to my digestive system until lunch. It makes me feel very full, sometimes can't finish it until noon when I start it about 8:30am. At lunch time I'm still full and end up skipping lunch and eating supper at 5, no food after 7pm. I only put about 13oz of coconut water (or coconut milk mixed with water), 1 tbsp chia seeds, small handful of aronia berries and about 1/4 cup cauliflower in it. I used to eat 3 large meals and many snacks before Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions! - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3536 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr. Cabral's Book: The Rain Barrel Effect - - - Join the Community & Get Your Questions Answered: CabralSupportGroup.com - - - Dr. Cabral's Most Popular At-Home Lab Tests: > Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - Get Your Question Answered On An Upcoming HouseCall: StephenCabral.com/askcabral - - - Would You Take 30 Seconds To Rate & Review The Cabral Concept? Hi friends! I'm so excited to share this week's episode with one of my good friends, Tina Haupert, where we dive into the fascinating world of peptides, functional nutrition, and how to actually build a healthy lifestyle that sticks. Tina opens up about her own health journey, how peptide therapy transformed her life, and why getting the basics of your health right is the real game-changer. If you're curious about peptides but don't know where to begin, THIS episode is a great place to start! Here's what we discuss: Tina's journey from a healthy living blogger to a functional nutrition practitioner What peptides are and how they support natural body processes Understanding GLP-1s and the misconceptions surrounding them Microdosing peptides to minimize side effects and maximize benefits Why foundational health practices are crucial for effective peptide use How stigma around peptides is shifting as awareness grows And so. much. MORE! Tina Haupert is a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P), Certified Nutrition Coach, and founder of Carrots ‘N' Cake. If you've ever struggled with advice you didn't want but maybe needed—or felt the clash between doing things “your way” versus “the right way for you”—you'll relate to this journey.I'm calling this approach Being Yourself the Smart Way, which means blending science & spirituality, working with professionals who care, & paying attention to your inner & outer dialogue. It's about remembering that there's no one-size-fits-all way to be yourself & live your best life. I'm creating this IHP podcast series playlist to share this journey with you. This isn't about tracking every meal or drink. It's a series of reflections on how I feel & think while doing something I don't necessarily want—or even believe I need—to do: following a diet recommended for my age (currently 45) & optimizing my health as I get older. As someone who mentors, creates content & hosts conversations about spiritual & personal growth, I see this as more than a diet plan. It's an exploration of what it means to Be Yourself the Smart Way. It's about balancing science & spirituality, left & right brain, ego & inner child. It's about recognizing there's no one-size-fits-all solution—something both smart individuals & caring, effective professionals understand.Being Yourself the Smart Way is about discovering what truly works for you. It's about freedom of choice & with the right support, aligning your well-being with your body, brain, mind, heart & self in harmony—each of us carrying a story worth sharing.Through these episodes, I'll share insights on why blending professional guidance with self-awareness matters for long-term mental, emotional, physical & spiritual health.Join me as we explore how science & spirituality together unlock authenticity, resilience & the best life for you—lived fully by being yourself.Thank you for tuning in!Love, MariaThe longer reflections for this series:This diary isn't a record of everything I eat or drink. It's a log of how I feel & think while doing something I don't particularly want to do—or believe I truly need to do. Yet, according to health professionals, it's considered ideal for my body & age.I remain skeptical & dislike being told how to manage my eating habits. The idea that this process could change my body—or give someone else “control” over my day-to-day life—bothers me. At the same time, this tension highlights my left & right brain, ego & inner child at play, creating resistance to something deemed good for me by science & society.Creating this podcast series motivates me to stay on track with my nutritionist's plan. In sharing it with you, I hope it also helps you notice how self-awareness—& Being Yourself the Smart Way—blends science with spirituality, supported by a society that truly cares about your health, not forcing you into their "perfect" model. These episodes offer insights into what it means to Be Yourself the Smart Way: recognizing why self-awareness matters, valuing skilled professionals for holistic well-being & seeing how blending science & spirituality nurtures long-term mental, emotional & physical health.Science & spirituality open the path to authenticity, resilience, well-being & living your best life.Being yourself doesn't mean stubbornly doing things your way or assuming you're always right. It means doing what is truly right for you. A healthy society encourages this, guiding us toward what serves our well-being.True intelligence is holistic: mental, emotional, physical & spiritual alignment. It means rising above dysfunctional patterns & ego distortions, letting left & right brain work together, noticing your inner & outer dialogue & recognizing there's no one-size-fits-all formula—only the smart way, tailored to you. With the right professionals & community, you can reach your highest potential.Good professionals—scientific or spiritual—know this. They don't impose personal preferences as truth. They focus on what works.Love, Maria

In this episode, we break down one of the biggest myths that keeps aspiring health coaches stuck: the idea that they've “missed their chance.” The truth is, you're not too old, and it's not too late. Most business founders don't start until their mid-40s, most CEOs are in their 50s, and the average millionaire doesn't arrive until their 60s. Today, we'll explore why timing is less important than alignment—and how like-minded people attract each other. As a health coach, your story, your experience, and your perspective matter. The right clients will resonate with your journey, not your age. If you've been doubting whether you can still launch, scale, or reignite your coaching business, this episode will remind you that the window of opportunity is still wide open. And on today's Integrative #HealthCoachSuccess episode 404 we'll be sharing all the details of how to get started at any age and create a thriving health coaching business - Enjoy the show and let us know what you thought! - - - Listen or Watch At: IHP.Coach/404 - - - Dr. Cabral's Book, The Rain Barrel Effect: https://amzn.to/2H0W7Ge - - - Become an Integrative Health Practitioner: https://integrativehealthpractitioner.org
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Raina: Hi Dr. Cabral! Thank you so much for all the information that you so generously share! I recently had a baby 8 weeks ago. My last detox was summer of 2023 as I was trying to conceive for a little over a year. I plan to breast feed for a couple years, and would like to have another baby in that time as well. So it will be several years before I can do another detox. I am wondering what I can do while breastfeeding to support my body and also help me lose weight?I have began walking 5 days/wk, and very light strength trainging 3 days/wk. My first detox I lost 16 lbs and lost another 20 in the couple months after.. I would love to do that again, but I just can't right now. I have appx 25 lbs I'd like to lose, while breastfeeding, & before having another babe. What could best help me get there and support my body and goals? Lisa: My adult son was diagnosed with tinea versicolor several years ago (he was a teenager), following a family trip to Colombia. He was seen by a dermatologist and treated and told it would most likely come back and that he should use Selsum blue shampoo on the effected area once a month to help clear it up. My question is - is there something more permanent he can do. I understand this is a skin fungal infection, but it seems like there should be something he can do to alleviate it completely. I saw a previous question about re: children, wondering what you would recommend for an adult, tests that could be run, etc. Thank you! Ashley: Hi Dr. Cabral - I recently started drinking hydrogen water at the starter pH of 8.5 per your recent reviews on the topic (thank you as always for the deep dive!). But let me say... it's been 3 days and holy heck am I detoxing. Bowels, skin, headaches, post nasal drip, etc. The materials from your team state this is expected and to titrate slowly, but the materials don't explain WHY this detox phase happens drinking higher pH water. Can you talk about what's happening in the body during this phase and how long one might expect to have symptoms before stabilizing? My husband is scared to start drinking it now HAHAHA. Thanks as always for what you and your TEAM do for us! Al: Dr.Cabral, I am an IHP not residing in the US, so I have access to different labs and supplements. The laboratory I work with offer 5x cortisol samples (the last sample being collected in the middle of the night). Is the night cortisol collection relevant for regular clients or only for specific cases? My second question is about SIFO without SIBO. Would undecylenic acid (isn't it much better than caprylic acid?) with pau D arco, Citricidal and s.boulardii be a good plan for slightly elevated yeast markers? If so, are two months sufficient? Thank you Tommy: Hey the legendary Dr. C! I started the heavy metal detox a couple months back, and the heavy metal detox capsules themselves cause me a histamine reaction. I tried 1/2 the dose, and while the reaction is less, it's still there. I've already done the CBO protocol, I know my mercury is high so could really do with removing this, any ideas ? Should I take some hist-pro alongside it? Social media is one of the most powerful ways for health coaches to build trust, attract clients, and share their authentic message—but without the right tools, it can feel overwhelming. On today's episode, we're joined by Alexandra Spina, Senior VP of Strategy & Artificial Intelligence at the Integrative Health Practitioner Institute. Together, we dive into how coaches can simplify social media and use it as a tool for connection instead of stress. Alexandra also shares the inspiration behind the new Social Media Toolkit for IHP coaches—designed to remove guesswork, reduce fear, and provide easy-to-use templates, strategies, and tutorials. She explains why authenticity, vulnerability, and consistency matter far more than perfection—and how even small, simple steps can make a huge impact. If you want to learn how to leverage social media with ease, show up authentically, and begin growing your coaching practice with confidence, tune in to today's Integrative #HealthCoachSuccess episode 403. - - - Listen or Watch At: IHP.Coach/403 - - - Dr.

Cabral! Hope you're feeling groovy and vibrant on this fine day! :) I recently had a baby.. I was planning for a home birth but things didn't go as planned. After 100+ hours of labor I went to the hospital and ended up with an emergency c section. My baby was taken to the NICU because of struggling to breathe - she had swallowed meconium which quickly came out and she was then breathing fine. While I was in recovery from surgery and she was in the NICU the med team gave her a vit K shot, despite the fact that i previously told them no injections. Now I'm trying to right their wrongs. Is there anything I can do to help her body after receiving the vit K shot? Also, how could I best support her body after a c section and not getting the benefits of a natural vaginal birth? Thanks!!!!! Jennifer: Hi Dr. Cabral! I would like to get your thoughts on mesenteric panniculitis. I am a healthy 50 year-old female, currently IHP level 1 student. I had a CT abd/pelvis a few months back for a pretty bad GI virus. Scan showed enterocolitis however incidentally noted “mesenteric panniculitis, likely chronic”. I have read this (mesenteric panniculitis) can be autoimmune related and wanted to get your thoughts and any recommendations. By the way, I will be completing my first Dr. Cabral 21 day detox in 2 weeks and already feel great! Thank you so much for all you do! Jill: Dr. Cabral, I enjoy and learn so much from your podcast and appreciated learning about mammogram alternatives in episode 3049. Similarly, I'd love to find DEXA alternatives with no radiation and wanted to get your feedback on REMS (Radiofrequency Echographic Multi Spectrometry). This technology has no radiation and is made by the Echolight company in Italy. It is currently available through Precision bone imaging in CA and AZ and because the technology is portable was also available to book at my local OsteoStrong location in Las Vegas, NV. Additionally, can you give your feedback on the FDA cleared device called OsteoBoost? John: He doc. Just wondering if you read the book the one minute cure and if you did what did you think about it . Thanks keep up the amazing work John: Hey doc . In one of your previous podcast you mention how good the sauna is to do post workout, I'd like to know iif that's only after an anaerobic workout or if it's good after an aerobic workout to . Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Bettina: Hi Dr. Cabral, I live in Denmark and unfortunately I'm unable to purchase the Chi Vitalizer Machine Original. I'm therefore looking for a great alternative. Are you familiar with the Sun Ancon Chi Machine (Original), developed by Dr. Shizuo Inoue in Japan? It has a fixed speed of 140 swings per minute and features a durable AC motor. What do you consider important when choosing a Chi machine? Thanks for all that you do. Ann: Hi Dr. Cabral :) If no one has told you today you are very much appreciated :) I sometimes struggle with getting my sauna sessions in in the summer months. If I go for a run and come back super sweaty (staying in Zone 2-3 cardio range for 30-45 minutes) is that having the same effects as my infrared sauna? Hoping to be able to count it as a session! Thank you in advance! Spencer: Hello Dr. Cabral, I'm currently overwhelmed by my situation. I've ran the big 5 as well as some Gi testing, and have found that I have dysbiosis, SIBO, chronic stress, mycoxtoin (mold exposure at work), and trauma. Not sure what happened to me at a young age, but my mom told me I stopped eating fruits and veggies at a young age, and I never tried eating them until more recently at 34 years old. I'm suffering every symptom in the book. I tried the CBO 2 years ago without any success, because the stress I was under was too much. I've began working on my nervous system and I've started IHP Level 1. I feel like it's just so many things stacked against me, especially the mental/spiritual side, which I feel is holding me back from everything and I don't know what to do. I'm down to a few foods. Spencer: Follow up. The mold rabbit hole is growing every week and it seems like it can cause every single symptom down to the nervous system dysregulation and sibo and chronic stress and everything, and If I can't get out of the environment it seems insurmountable. I also don't even know how much of an issue it's causing to my issues because I have so many. It could just be overflowing the rain barrel. I'm a boxing trainer and have to train clients all day and I have no energy left in the tank. I've began IHP to work my way out of this current career, but need some help in the interim. My body is so taxed I can't workout, sauna, or do really anything at this point… Ellen: I am a 65 year old female. Had an iron panel test done. My Ferritin is 74 which is in normal range, but my serum iron is low at 34, when the normal range is 50-212. The saturation is 13 when the normal range is 20-50. The TIBC is 270 which seems to be in the normal range. Not sure what this means. I have low hemoglobin at 11.3 and borderline low hematocrit at 34.9. I take an iron supplement but just wondering why my body doesn't seem to be absorbing it. One more thing is that I have a high platelet level at 475 when the range is 140-375. Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Sophie: I have heard that you recommend Wild Yam Cream for hormonal issues - can you tell me more about the product? Roman: Hi Dr. Cabral, I was just listening to your podcast where you listed all the different types of magnesium and their specific benefits. I really appreciated the breakdown — but I was surprised that you didn't mention sucrosomal magnesium. Is there a specific reason why it was left out? From what I understand, it's considered one of the most absorbable forms available. I've been using it for over a year now (about 300 mg before bed), and it seems to work really well for me.Just curious to hear your thoughts on this form, since I respect your approach and depth of research. Thanks so much — take care! John: Hi doc huge fan. I'm in my 50s and have thinning hair I already take your hair support but I wanted to know since I don't have money for the higher dose hat that you recommend would the red light panel from my therasage sauna have the same affect putting it on my head thanks Larissa: Hello Dr. Cabral thank you for providing so many answers to hard to answer problems. My question is how can I reset my sense of smell. I lost my sense of taste and smell after COVID for at least a year. It slowly came back, but some tastes and smells were very different than I remembered. My main problem is that I smell chemicals much stronger, so things like comercial soaps and perfumes are very unappealing to me. I have eliminated all offensive products from my use, but I can't tell other people what they should use. Is there a way to tame down my sensitivity to these strong offending smells? Thank you, Lorrie Ashley: Hi Dr Cabral, you are an inspiration and thank you for all that you do. I am an IHP1 and busy eith IHP 2 aiming to change career paths sometime in the near future. My question is about my son, he has had nervous system dystegulation since birth with what i would call sensory processing issues. He is now 7 and has a lot of anxiety, dark thoughts and mood swings. I came across retained reflexes and found a practitioner to help him with this as he has many retained reflexes (Dr Mellilio method). I have not seen any show on this topic and was wandering your thoughts and if you could consider covering this topic in a future show? my side question is on the heavy metal detox: What foods have successfully masked the taste of the protocol especially the universal binder for your daughters? Hi friends! I have a brand new podcast episode live, and today I'm diving into a solo episode that I think so many of you will relate to: fatigue. We're talking about why you might feel tired all the time—even when you're doing everything right—and I'm breaking down some of the hidden reasons behind low energy that often go overlooked. Here's what we chat about: The surprising ways mineral imbalances can drain your energy (and what to do about it) How blood sugar spikes and crashes can sabotage your mood and motivation Why “healthy” diets may still be undernourishing your body and creating stress signals The connection between gut health and fatigue (it's way more important than most people realize) How your mitochondria—your body's energy engines—can get bogged down, and how to support them My thoughts on testing and tracking to uncover what your body is really trying to tell you How to build balanced, energizing meals that fuel your day instead of draining you Tips on supporting detoxification to keep your systems humming And how lifestyle tweaks (not just supplements!) can make a big difference in your energy, clarity, and mood I hope this quick episode will leave you feeling empowered, supported, and a little less alone if you've been dealing with that "always tired" feeling. ✨ Take a listen and let me know your favorite takeaway! As always, thank you for being here and sharing this space with me
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Tommy: Hello Stephen. I'm an IHP. A year ago I started having dhiarrea daily. My sleep also suffered, waking up in the night unable to fall back asleep even with magnesium/melatonin/breathwork. I had some leftover healthy belly, so began taking 2 morning and 2 night. Everything cleared up, my bowells were perfect , my mind was clearer, my body was calmer. I thought it was the mastic gum that had killed some h-pylori. About 7 days after stopping healthy belly, it all came back again. I've since done a parasite protocol which i had to stop 11 days before the end as I was feeling fatigued. I ran a stool test just before these symptoms and it showed citrabacter friundi. I'm unsure whether to do a parasite protocol again or run another stool test. Appreciate you Tommy: Hello Stephen, I heard you mention that a certain percentage of folk (possibly with the APOE genotype if memory serves me correctly), experience more inflammation with a higher fat diet. Would it be worth running a generic test to refine my unique needs a bit more as I'm prone to inflammation? Obviously this comes after the basic big 5. And Would it also explain susceptibility to mycotoxins? Thankyou for all that you do Kay: Hi Dr. Cabral, What would you recommend to 59 or 60 year olds who are a pitta/vata body type and tend to be more catabolic when it comes to your DCD? Would you recommend to modify the 2 fasting days? Both my husband and I are generally ok during Day 1 of the fast, but Day 2 is always so difficult - my husband got bad headaches and because he had to work and focus, he ended up prematurely ending the DCD. I have gotten nausea and chills on Day 2, but the most difficult part for me is just really wanting to eat solid food. It also seems that my muscle tone is weakened afterwards. I know that muscle goes away much quicker when you are over the age of 50. Thanks for all your great podcasts- they are always so informative and I look forward to your response! Kay: Hi Dr. Cabral- Thanks for your awesome podcasts and the opportunity for us to ask you questions. I'm a 59 year old female and am in menopause. I never had cellulite on my arms and back of my upper thighs and glutes until I began taking HRT. Currently, I am on 1mg oral bioidentical estradiol bid and 100 mg oral progesterone qd at bedtime. I also recently began taking 5 mg DHEA (equilife) bid. I am at a good weight (5'2" 110) and do strength training 3 x per week and walk an average of 10k steps per day. I also have recently incorporated your dry brushing techniques and plan to switch to topical HRT sometime this year with the help of my medical provider. I am wondering what else I can do to eliminate the cellulite? Shelley: Hello, Dr. Cabral! I have recently gone on a health and wellness journey, going from 228 lbs down to now 167 pounds in just over a year. To aid in the process, of course exercise was a part of it. With the exercise came all the injuries of olde, but mainly my knee. I injured it back in my college years playing tennis and surgery wasn't recommended as they wanted to see if it would heal itself (torn meniscus, mostly in the vascular area). Well, fast forward more years than I care to count, and that residual tear on the avascular portion can be problematic. I have been looking into peptides, specifically BPC-157 and TB-500 to potentially help this knee without surgical intervention. What are your thoughts on peptide use (these two in particular) and do you think they might help my knee? Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Carrieann: Hi Dr Cabral! I was wondering if you were familiar with Peptide KPV and if you could offer some insight on it and how it works to decrease inflammation in the body. Thank you!! Jannah: Hi Dr Cabral, I've recently been diagnosed with visual snow (not Visual Snow Syndrome), confirmed by multiple specialists and a brain MRI. The symptoms began about a year ago, coinciding with high stress, chronic back pain, and returning to work in a brightly lit (LEDs), newly renovated office. Environmental changes like dimming lights, adjusting my computer screen and using eye-strain glasses have eased my painful headaches; however, I still experience tension behind my eyes and forehead. I understand that this is a neurological issue, so I'd appreciate any recommendations to support my brain health, neurological functioning and visual processing, please. I'm a 39 year old female, generally healthy and active, and based in Australia. Thank you! Tommy: Hello Stephen. I'm an IHP. A year ago I started having dhiarrea daily. My sleep also suffered, waking up in the night unable to fall back asleep even with magnesium/melatonin/breathwork. I had some leftover healthy belly, so began taking 2 morning and 2 night. Appreciate you Kari: Hi Dr. Cabral, I'm struggling to find the best option for clean water when traveling. I don't want to use plastic water bottles and glass options are rare and very expensive. I don't mind for flights and have even used Starbucks water that they put in my stainless steel bottle. I need options if I'm going to stay with a friend for a week and need to have clean water. I have looked at water bottles with filters, but I'm not sure if they're any good. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks! Shawnee: Hey there! I was wondering how long should you be taking digestive enzymes for? I feel great when I take them so I would hate to stop. But I don't want to mess up my system by over using them. Thanks! Hi friends! A brand new podcast episode is live and I'm so excited to share this conversation with Mario Brainović all about the most essential element of health: Water
Hi friends! I have a new solo podcast episode going live, and in it, I'm sharing a practice that has become a cornerstone of my quarterly health routine: the EquiLife Detox. This episode dives into why supporting your body's natural detoxification pathways is more critical than ever in our modern environment. Here's a sneak peek at what we're diving into in this episode: What a detox truly entails (moving beyond restrictive juice cleanses) and why seasonal detox support can benefit nearly everyone experiencing fatigue, hormonal imbalances, allergies, or unexplained symptoms. The reality of daily toxin exposure from our food, water, air, and common products, and how this overload can manifest as symptoms like brain fog, stubborn weight, and skin issues. The science behind Phase 1 and Phase 2 liver detoxification, explaining why supporting both is essential for effective toxin elimination and to avoid common "detox flu" symptoms. My personal experience with the detox, detailing observed benefits such as increased energy, clearer skin, deeper sleep, and a significant reset of cravings. A discussion on why natural detoxification can be challenging in today's environment due to pervasive toxins and depleted nutrient content in food. My favorite modification tips for the detox, covering strategies for adjusting fasting days, incorporating additional fuel, and navigating coffee consumption. and so.much.more! Hi friends! I have a new podcast episode live and I'm hopping in today with another solo episode all about morning routines! Here's what we discuss: Why morning routines are so powerful and how they can impact your mood, energy, and productivity throughout the day. My previous "rat race" morning routines and how she's evolved to a more sustainable, habit-stacked approach. "Non-time-structured" morning habits, including avoiding phone scrolling, getting sunlight exposure, and prioritizing hydration. My go-to, autopilot breakfast that's packed with nutrition and protein. Incorporating PEMF, red light, and binaural beats into her mornings for optimal well-being. The power of journaling and gratitude, and how to manifest your goals by writing them as if they've already happened. Book recommendations for cultivating a positive mindset and effective habits Creative ways to use AI (like ChatGPT) to optimize your daily routine and maximize productivity. The importance of consistency over intensity and finding what truly moves the needle for you, rather than comparing yourself to others. and so.much.more! Partners: Check out We Feed Raw! Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: John: Hey doc. I've been doing the heavy metal detox once a year for about 5 years now. Should I keep taking other supplements while I'm on the detox. I take men's hair support, balanced zinc , magnesium and dns . Just wanted to know if the detox cancels out the other stuff . Thanks Tanya: What causes Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase to be high? My number has been considered "high" for my last three readings.I cannot find any information regarding higher levels, but a lot on lower levels. Thank you Anonymous: Hi Dr. Cabral! I've used things like ACV and homemade fire cider in the past for various reasons, but stopped because I would instantly develop mucus in the back of my throat. Seemed like maybe I was adding stress to my body rather than the intended healing properties I was looking for in these remedies. Is this a histamine issue? I know I'm sensitive to high histamine foods and alcohol and will instantly flush red and feel overheated especially face, neck, and all my joints. I tend to avoid these things. Should I stay away from things like ACV and fire cider while I'm sorting out my histamine issue? Thanks! Anonymous: Hi Dr Cabral, thank you for all you do! Im currently studying to become an IHP and have learnt so much!I have a couple questions, firstly, I live in Australia & just wondering if at the end of becoming an IHP do you recommend to go onto study naturopathy as I have an interest in that or do you think IHP alone is enough? Secondly, I am 29 and I have always struggled with a really heavy period. It has gotten heavier & I get a lot of clotting. I had test done awhile back with Naturopath and come back a little lower in progesterone, but all my other hormones were perfect. I get sore breast, hold water weight and am irritable after ovulation. I used to experience PMDD. I have done the 21 day detox & am currently doing the CBO protocol as I also have quite severe Leaky gut. Thank you John: Hey doc. If I buy the red light cap that you recommend should I still take your men's hair support .
