This is the one where the Doctor and Clara fight space ghosts while underwater and don't actually create a bootstrap paradox. The post 131 Under The Lake and Before The Flood appeared first on Noobs & the Whovian.
This week, the artist known as J. Graves joins Bob Ham to talk about her new EP Death Bed and reviving her mom's long-dormant indie label as a platform for women and nonbinary artists, and Jayson Tipp, the keyboardist and leader of Under The Lake, chats about his group's new album Your Horizon Too and about making music during a pandemic.
Jayson Tipp is a jazz pianist and founder of Under The Lake jazz band whose releases and live performances boast a "who's who" list of jazz artists such as Joe Sample, Billy Cobham, Keiko Matsui, Stanley Jordan, and others. Under The Lake have received immense critical praise in local, regional, national, and international publications including JazzTimes, Jazziz, France's Jazz Hot, Canada's Exclaim, Germany's Cascade, as well as The New York Daily News.
With literally no news whatsoever this week in the world of Doctor Who, our attention wanders to gatherings of the nerd tribes, specifically this weekend at (Re)generation Who in Maryland....and Peter Capaldi making an appearance at La Mole Comic Con in Mexico! Doctor Who (aka "Doctor Misterio" in Mexico) is so popular he was mobbed at the airport by adoring fans..as is only right and proper. And we continue our Series 9 commentaries with Alisa Stern of Doctor Puppet (known in Mexico as "Doctor Marioneta") as we dive...Under The Lake! Essa é nossa review de Under The Lake e Before The Flood (Embaixo do Lago e Antes da Enxente) E eu só queria dizer que todas as minhas especulações estavam corretas! Muahahahaha
…in which the podcaster by the lake and the podcaster from downstate commiserate on the current state of the series' fate - but don't you dare call it Moffat hate! JB is joined by St. Xtofer from the Dirty WHOers podcast to discuss "Under The Lake" and "Before The Flood". We also cover the vast world of spinoff media, deduce which television stories were cribbed from the novels, and decide which other stories should've taken their cues from the audios.
Hello hello hello!Time for a good look at how to properly write some Doctor Who!Needless to say, we here at The Happiness Patrol had a wonderful time watching Under The Lake and Before The Flood.Sit back and relax with your headphones as we discuss everythingToby Whithouse on this week's installment of The Happiness Patrol Episode 150: Let's Get Wet
Moving on in Series 9, here's the next two episodes, Under The Lake and Before The Flood. More exciting than meeting Shirley Bassey. Thanks for listening!
It’s Caroline’s birthday … and she’s not here! But here’s a little present for you all, as Alasdair shares a recent live episode of the podcast at the DSI Comedy Theater in Chapel Hill, N.C. It’s a deeply silly bit of fun as Alasdair and two Who-loving improvisers discuss the show, including a worrying amount of discussion of the 1996 TV movie. We’ll be back soon as a special guest co-host joins Alasdair to chat about “Under The Lake” and “Before The Flood.”
On this episode of The Web of Queer, we review the third episode of series nine, Under the Lake, and then briefly discuss Class, the new TV spinoff. In our Under the Lake review, we talk about how well the atmosphere was set for the episode. What did we think of the characters, were we frightened by the ghosts, and what could possibly happen after that cliffhanger? For our Class discussion, we take a quick a look at the writer, what we hope for the series, and if we think the new guy on the Who block might be good for the franchise. This week Anthony Lewis and Ben Knight sit down to discuss the 3rd episode of Doctor Who’s 9th series entitled “Under The Lake” and play a mini game of “How much does this Doctor Who thing on eBay cost?”
This week Phil and Paul review Under The Lake, the 3rd episode of series 9 of Doctor Who. And once again the planets have aligned as they both agree on this episode! But was it a return to classic stories of old and did the ensemble cast really gel? Do ghosts exist? Well, they don't answer that question but rest assured they get stuck right into this story and come out the other side with their heads held high reading listener feedback! And in the news, a new Doctor Who spin off show was announced that caught everyone off guard, John Hurt reprises his role as the War Doctor for Big Finish which REALLY caught everyone off guard and once again Phil and Paul get an attack of stats!
Series 9. Episode 3. Under The Lake. It's great. We loved it. However we were this week, to an extent, at home to Mr. Cockup. See if you can spot when iPlayer started buffering. See also if you can spot when the digital recorder batteries ran out.Ah.Never mind. We got there in the end. Thank you in advance for whatever degree of patience you can bring to bear.
