If you listen to this episode on the day it drops, Kenny will still be on holiday in Lanzarote. So you can all feel a part of it, he's invited John and Steevie to discuss the two Doctor Who stories that were partially made there, Planet of Fire and Kill The Moon. Also, standby for some sort of interesting trivia about Lanzarote! (Today's guest theme: Doctor Who Theme - Howell in Modernity by Peter Miles - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUeBgwtF0EE)

Courtney wants proof that she is special so The Doctor and Clara take her to be the first woman on the Moon. Join us as we discuss Episode 807: Kill The Moon The Tardis lands on the Moon where they find people are already there. It's 2049, the Moon has been getting heavier, and the ...
“Fearlessly bonkers” is how director Paul Wilmshurst described Kill the Moon, a — shall we say ambitious? — episode of Doctor Who that presumes the moon we see shining in the sky every night is actually an enormous egg. Yes. Hold on… how did we not notice it's made of eggshell? How does the moon “put on weight” so quickly that it has the same gravity of Earth? Why would the “bacteria” protecting it look and behave exactly like giant spiders? Best not to ask such questions and simply run down the needlessly exploding moonbase corridor with everybody else. If you can get past the bizarro premise, Kill the Moon actually has some of the more definitive moments between the 12th Doctor and Clara. But is that amniotic juice worth the lunar squeeze? Let's hitch a ride on a rickety space shuttle to find out. Commentary on Kill the Moon begins at 15:38. Reference material: A whole new moon 'I'm the first space pirate!' Cory Sticha revisit this 12th Doctor story that presents a more implausible and less scientific than usual plot contrivance to create dramatic tension between the Doctor and Clara. We are with River for a second week as we cover the final two episodes in The Diary Of River Song Vol 4. How does the box set do when trying to manage a Melody Malone mystery? Can the Discordia be successfully wrapped up? And just how well do River and the Fourth Doctor get on? Plus we dip into our postbag to follow up on our Kill The Moon discussion, and we also talk about the Seventh Doctor's run of luck in the Main Range.
We stray back into the world of video again this week as we tackle the divisive, controversial Peter Capaldi episode "Kill The Moon". Does the episode stand up now that a few years has passed since the original controversies? How does Clara fare? And does the moral message work?

How Not To Celebrate The Moon Landing Hello, and welcome to episode 113 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. We kick off our journey through 2015 with Fantastic Four #98, a celebration of the first landing on the Moon. Ish. There's a Kree Sentry, a mysterious island, something dormant beneath the surface of the moon, and Neil Armstrong's foot. And if this sounds like a mash-up of Doctor Who's Kill The Moon and The Impossible Astronaut... well... that's just a coincidence!
