We review the history of two of our most outlandish Vice Presidents (other than Dick, obviously), the tonal ambiguity of Vice as a film, the value of a good montage sequence, and our inherent discomfort with Cheney’s legacy. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/checkyourthreading)
Governor George W Bush of Texas picks Dick Cheney, the CEO of Halliburton Co, to be his Republican running mate in the 2000 presidential election. No stranger to politics, Cheney's impressive résumé includes stints as White House chief of staff, House Minority Whip and defence secretary. When Bush wins by a narrow margin, Cheney begins to use his newfound power to help reshape the country and the world. This is our spoiler free movie review of Vice. Enjoy!

A mediocre review of the movie Vice. Starring Christian Bale, Amy Adams, and Sam Rockwell. Directed by Adam McKay. Oscars
"I Saw The Devil" is postponed for the time being, as Ryan and Dave decide to check out a few Oscar favorites over the rest of the month. First up: the story of modern American carnage, hubris and cynical Machiavellian gamesmanship. Told from the unreliable POV of former VP Dick Cheney (Christian Bale), it's a breezily entertaining and maddening story centered on one of America's most reviled but undeniably influential figures of the past 40-plus years. Also, Ryan mourns the state of America's place in the world as a concerned Canadian neighbor (and clearly can't wait for Game of Thrones' return), while Dave finds himself unexpectedly rooting for the bad guy at certain points in the movie. Don't be drawn in by the Emperor, Anakin! Next week, Ryan's next Oscar season pick - "Roma"!

Brandon and Rashanii are back to review one of our favorite films of the Year Vice. This is a film about the life of former Vice President Dick Cheney and his rise to power. This film pulls no punches on how much of a Super Villain Dick Cheney actually was/is. We talk about his early days, how privilege both white and male was the driving force to his success, how great Steve Carell was as Donald Rumsfeld, how he handled his daughters sexuality, how funny this film and soo much more. This is a must see film and it fully deserves all the recognition its getting. A fun show as always, Please be sure to subscribe to our show on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and TuneIn. Vice is the true story of Vice President Dick Cheney, presented with humor and respect. But is it worth a trip to the theatre? MoJoe dives into that in the latest One Minute Movie Review.

So when it was announced that a movie would be made about Dick Cheney, the fear was that it would humanize him and gloss over the underhanded stuff he did as a politician. Well Vice ends up actually showing nuance when it comes to Cheney in that while the film shows the family man, they also go deep on the underhanded, cold stuff he did in his bid to obtain power especially under Bush Jr. Christian Bale nails it as Dick Cheney but its Amy Adams that subtly steals the show. 3BG rating: 10 out of 10 Be sure to check out of Youtube channel for content and subscribe to keep up to date.
