Almost no one says it was Bagger Vance. But it was definitely Men In Black that did it. A hit movie with a hit song at the height of 90's music videos. This classic made Will a Superstar, gave Tommy Lee Jones career more life, gave Vincent D'Onofrio enough scenery to eat for 5 years and even made a good cartoon!

Tokyo Godfathers, the brilliant Satoshi Kon made a holiday classic that's purely Japanese. And PURELY wholesome. It's a movie that's made talks about homelessness, forgiveness, running away, redemption and family. 

#Anaconda #IceCube #JackBlack #PaulRudd In the weirdest of ways, Anaconda works somehow. Take the root idea of what 'Be Kind, Rewind' was and add in a bigger budget and you get this film. Its silly in all the right ways and wrong ways as well yet ends up sticking the landing how you expect it to go. A film thats not really a remake and its also a sequel to the original film at the same time. Given the actors in this film, you can see the jokes coming a mile away. End of the day its a silly movie with some earnest.  Do with that what you will.

On the surface, you watch a foreigner in Brendan Fraser maneuver around Japan as a working actor trying to make it big through a special job as a companion to various people. Once the movie presents itself very quickly that its not what you think, you end up getting a very heartwarming and honest film but people and feelings. Solid direction, great cinematography, and excellent acting.

Yes this is a movie that is all about James Cameron flexing his chops at VFX and the movie looks good as hell but same time we get a pretty engaging story with plot points thats been done before. New locations, new characters, and revisiting even old characters from the first film. End of the day, you have a film that is pretty damn entertaining from start to finish.

This movie takes 3BG back to that era called "A MONTH BEFORE 9/11"! We talk about the great Kevin Smith, 9/11, the ViewAskew Universe, and a lot of laughs.

#Predator #PredatorBadlands #Aliens #AvP The Predator franchise has always been consistently entertaining(Barring the 2018 Predator movie which fell short despite some moments). At any rate coming off of Prey, Killer of Killers and even Alien: Romulus & Alien: Earth, it seems like we're heading down the road towards a legit Alien vs Predator movie. But while we're on this road, enter Predator: Badlands which does a solid job of putting you into this established universe with a twist...This time we're following a young Predator who's out to prove himself to his clan. With that setup, we got a film that overall hits all the beats you expect from the Predator franchise even with the PG-13 rating. This is a must watch.

Its been awhile and lots has happened in the Toku world. From Super Sentai getting a full blown revamp to the Power Rangers reboot finally going into production, CJ and Prime give there thoughts and then dive into the fun world of Gekisou Sentai Carranger.

Time for some DAMN good cinema. Whiplash does everything perfectly. From acting to the music to the subtext. We talk about JK, Miles Teller being the best of his generation so-far, coaching, abuse and white people. 

A school teacher from Albuquerque has a mid-life crisis and becomes drug dealer. Well...he cooks, his ex-student is the drug dealer. Oh, and the teacher has cancer. And a baby on the way...and his in-law is a fed. Look its alot.

The late 90's Horror genre was just begging to get satired. Scream did half the work for it. The Wayans name in the 90's was still hot too. Shawn and Marlon teamed up again to give us another hilarious parody movie. And launch Anna Faris and Regina Hall's careers. 

A southern laywer is scouted to work big cases in New York. That doesn't sound so bad until you see Al Pacino and it's like "Oh yeah...I'm working for Lucifer." We talk about 90's Christian Horror, Keanu doing his best Jacksonville, Charlise being tortured, Pacino being the perfect Devil and a bunch of Jeffrey Jones jokes.

Batman TAS was already awesome. A staple of early '90s cartoons. But it needed a feature to drive home that this show is serious and different. Mask of the Phantasm was not only a great story of Year 2 Batman, but it is also very different from every other movie, animated or live action.

#Nobody2 #BobOdenkirk #RZA #SharonStone The first film was a lowkey surprise hit that much like the John Wick films captured the over the top insanity from the story to the characters. So here we are with the sequel which does what most sequels do which is give you bigger action and even more insane characters. Yet through all of it, Bob Odenkirk sells you on a guy who, much like Jackie Chan, doesn't want any trouble and wants to just spend time with his family on vacation.

And he did while really letting the movie ooze in its New Yorkness. The movie overall is a slow burn with a good story and great acting. On its own, its a very good original movie but at the same time it manages to mix in elements from the Kurasawa original film. 

Rodney Dangerfield wanted to be a cartoon character. Warner Bros. was like "BET!" and made him one. The problem was they didn't want to sell a Rated R cartoon, this was the 80s. Cartoon violence sure but God forbid they cuss. So they made it Rated G. ...Yup. But here's the puzzling part. What kid asked for this? 

Crime. Crime never sleeps, it also never tips or thanks the chef. Crime is a heartless son of bitch that saps the goodwill from humanity and sells it for crack and hookers. Lucky for us Police Squad will protect us from crime. Again! And then maybe one more time then about 30 years later. We talk about our favorite jokes and why we think the newest movie will do well. 

After a month and a half break, 3BG is back...with a lot of stress. We decompress about the current climate in America and get into our movie of the week. The underrated Denzel classic, Ricochet. A movie full of petty revenge, racial overtones, 90's cool and John Lithgow devouring the scenery. Also, we're letting it be known, what our role as black people should be in this country right now. 

Drive came straight out of left field and became ICONIC! A story about a soft spoken stuntman is a getaway driver. And he is a damn good getaway driver. We talk about the story, stoic protagonist, charather actors, "What's truly manly" and Ryan Gosling singing on the Disney Channel.

In a period of time where society at large is very cynical all around, we have a movie that is 100% pure wholesome comic book fun. A Superman film that is basically like watching the live action version of the Bruce Timm Superman the Animated Series. This movie keeps you invested from its opening scene all the way to the end of the film. At a brisk 2 hours, you'll come away wanting to see it again and also come back to this brand new DC world that the movie establishes. This is a must see film.

You know what we need? Unity. We need that in this country...no, around the world. We need that. No better than a story about 4 adopted brothers avenging their white mama that was killed by the local drug lord. You know, the usual in Detroit. We talk about Markie Mark, 2000's Netflix movies, 3Stacks acting, and a bunch of another things not related to this movie.

#Ballerina #JohnWick #KeanuReeves The world of John Wick is ripe full of perfect spinoff material which is the most first world problem to have. Ballerina is one such spinoff that works perfectly because we were already introduced to this world in John Wick 3 due to John's affilation with the Ruska Roma. The character of Eve has a simple plight of revenge and this movie does a phenomenal job of seeing her dish out damage on her revenge tour. More than anything else, this film make you want to see more movies from this world.

The film gives you enough of a basic understanding of the sport of F1 racing while also serving you the usual Hollywood sports drama and flare. Its worth the watch alone in IMAX cause the racing cinematography is so damn good. Its a must watch.

And The Final Reckoning hits all the vibes of what you expect out of a Mission Impossible movie. It is PEAK Impossible White Man movie and its so damn good and entertaining.

The first film was good enough in its own way that it told a engaging story but you never came away thinking it would manifest into a franchise. But hey, Hollywood is always trying to franchise every movie so here we are with The Accountant 2. Overall its a fine film but its not the type of film you're rushing to the theater to see.

In many ways, Black RX was an inspiration of what we would get from future Kamen Rider shows starting with Kamen Rider Kuuga. And also it was an actual sequel series to a previous Kamen Rider season which was a big deal and first for the franchise. At any rate, sit back as CJ and Prime talk about Rider greatness.

You wanted a get away but instead you have to save Mars from an evil corporation that controls the air! Get your ass to Mars!

#Thunderbolts #MarvelStudios #Marvel #Disney #MarvelComics So post-Endgame, the concensus with folks on the MCU is that its a mixed bag. Way more often than not, the vibes from folks end up being grossly overexagerrated than need be. Thunderbolts since it was first announced at SDCC, was a big question mark for folks based on the characters that were involved especially later on when the casting for Sentry happened. The trepidation from folks was very understandable. So thankfully and shockingly, Thunderbolts ends up being a damn good movie mainly because it goes 180 from what you'd probably expect from a 3 act MCU film. By films end, you end up caring about the characters and there individual journey's. And while the movie does a good job of expanding the MCU world, it also makes sure to still keep focus on its main story with the characters. Definitely go see this movie especially in IMAX. Its worth it.
