In the studio this week is writer/producer of the massive Youtube science channel, Vsauce2. For 10 years the Vsauce brand (which has 3 "Vsauce" channels), has been educating viewers on topics from black holes to dragons, to hypothetical questions like 'What happened if Superman punched you?' There's a lot of comedy in the channels, but there's always a scientific bent, so even the zaniest sounding topics get taken seriously. That's where Matt comes in. His job is to come up with and produce the videos Vsauce2 fans have come to love. He shares with us how he got this position, and his creative process.

In this week’s episode, I chat with Matthew Tabor. Matthew Tabor works with science and math education channel Vsauce2, hosted by Kevin Lieber. He also engages in channel development and creator management with Direct Artist Management. Matthew is the co-host of the podcast The Create Unknown, in which he and Kevin interview dynamic creators who have successfully navigated the ever-changing, uncertain landscape of online media — and reveal how others have been swallowed by digital quicksand. About Matthew's podcast "The Create Unknown". The Create Unknown explores the new dream job of YouTube creator by interviewing some of the most well-known, successful people on the platform. On the twenty-first episode of the fifth season of The Sports-Casters, hosts Steve Bennett and Don Russ welcome Katie Baker (Grantland), Brett Martin (Author, GQ) and Kevin Lieber (VSauce2, YouTube). The Show ends with Steve and Don discussing God's decision to chat with Russell Wilson. -Katie Baker is making her sixth appearance (0:18:18) on the podcast to give a first hand account of the USWNT victory over Japan in the World Cup Final. Baker talks about the atmosphere in the stadiums and in Canada during the tournament, marching down the street with thousands of USWNT fans into the stadium before the final, and the hysteria in the stands after each of the four goals in the fist half. Katie also talks about Connor McDavid mania in Edmonton. -Brett Martin is making his second appearance (0:41:43) on the podcast to discuss the Mad Man finale, the intense scrutiny that we put on all series finales, and watching the shows he covered in his book, "Difficult Men." Martin also talks about covering food for GQ, his upcoming book about food, and what he learned while writing "Difficult Men" that will help make his next book better. -Kevin Lieber is making his first appearance (01:15:09) on the podcast to discuss his job as the head of the YouTube channel, VSauce2. Kevin talks about being discovered by YouTube, where the ideas for his videos come from, and the pressure (or lack there of) of getting clicks for his videos. Kevin also talks about going to college with Steve, rooting for the San Francisco 49ers, and music he wishes he didn't listen to in high school.
