This week, the Ep kicks off with Amy's remorse for bullying the Quad God. Then bullies him again! The ladies totally love Alysa Liu and her flawless, badass, joyful attitude. This lady pierced her own frenulum! This gal is 100% joy! She's so herself! Amy has a family story about the song MacArthur Park (Someone Left the Cake Out in the Rain). Amy can't with the Olympic skating gala. Maya loves the unsung, on-ice camera operator in a white suit. Amy solves the Delta in-flight Olympic video mystery. Amy just can't with the skater Amber Glenn. These kids would have never survived our childhood bullies, which included our teachers. The ladies reminisce about the hard, rough, brown multi-purpose paper towel that served as everything from a tourniquet to a popcorn bowl. Maya pays tribute to her elementary school classmate Steve Kelfkin. Animal Report: Wolf-dog Nazgul joins the cross-country ski race! Also, Punch the Monkey. Maya reviews the new Chi Chi's restaurant. So many peeps from our formative TV years are dying. Dawson! McSteamy! Luke Perry & Shannen Doherty! Don't get it twisted, we're all team Pacey. Amy goes to a “turnt” theater in her neighborhood. Don't even get her started on the sauna in her new neighborhood. Amy reviews Wuthering Heights. Amy feels like she was promised horny, horny, sex, sex, sex! It was not that. Justice for Tim Gunn! They didn't invite him back to Project Runway. Excuse me, what? Also, ICE is still here doing sneaky stuff. Amy calls her mom Marsh and hashes out what really happened with the toy mixer and human waste. Also, Marsh has some very specific, important thoughts about “sassing”. We love you Marsh.

You're highly capable. So why does your next move feel so unclear? For senior leaders at a career inflection point — whether navigating a layoff, a values misalignment, or a long-overdue pivot — the problem is rarely a lack of skill. It's a lack of perspective. In this episode, executive coach and strategic advisor Karen Kunkel Young joins host Lori Adams-Brown to talk about what high-performing leaders consistently miss when they're standing at a crossroads — and what it actually takes to move forward with clarity, agency, and intention. In this conversation, you'll discover: Why the habits and communication styles that made you successful may now be holding you back — and how to see that shift before it costs you How to reclaim ownership of your career narrative, especially when external forces (layoffs, leadership changes, industry shifts) have made you feel like a passenger The critical transition from expert executor to strategic leader — and why skipping the mindset shift is a lose-lose for everyone How to advocate powerfully for your impact without it feeling like bragging — including the storytelling framework that connects your achievements to business outcomes A practical approach to fear in high-stakes transitions: how to name it, feel it, and use it as a launchpad rather than a brake About Karen Kunkel Young: Karen Kunkel Young is an executive coach and strategic advisor known as "the telescope in the room" — helping senior leaders step back far enough to see the blind spots, shifting influence, and hidden opportunities their current vantage point obscures. This week we're bringing you a series of five episodes we always point to when people ask what Second Act Stories is all about. These "Unbelievable All-Stars" all have one thing in common: they exemplify what we're looking for in an incredible Second Act Story. Whether you're a longtime listener or brand new to the show, these episodes bring together the stories that best capture the heart of the podcast: bold choices, hard-earned wisdom, and journeys that continue to surprise and inspire. Since his junior year in high school, Chris Donovan has been sketching women's shoes. It's been his quiet obsession for the past 30+ years. At the age of 50, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. And he knew it was time to leave his safe job at the phone company to pursue his lifelong dream. "I need to follow this. I need to find out why I have this passion for shoes." Based on the recommendation of European shoe designer Aki Choklat, he was accepted to Polimoda, one of the best fashion design institutes in the world. He enrolled in an accelerated masters program and packed his bags for Florence, Italy. And while his first few months were difficult, he ended up graduating at the top of his class. Since our initial interview with Chris in October 2018, he has figured out how to turn his amazing designs into an actual product. Take it from Tim Gunn of Project Runway: "It's like nothing you've ever seen before." For more examples of Chris' amazing designs, visit www.ChrisDonovanFootwear.com. ******* If you enjoy Second Act Stories, please leave us a review here. We may read your review on a future episode! The whole gang is back together this week AND they've all watched Fantastic Four, so we revist that with a full spoiler review, the move on to Nonna's, Freaky Tales, Twisted Metal, and Project Runway. APNC has always been a show that loves the MCU. Heck, the first episode ever was about Captain Marvel (not to date ourselves...), so to have the opportunity to have a full spoiler discussion about the Fantastic Four was something we weren't going miss, even though we just discussed it last week. Getting Andrew's take from the more seasoned MCU angle and Lauren from the less indoctrinated side leads to some great discussions and generates some really solid discussion about what this movie means for super hero movies going forward. After that discussion, Lauren takes over and discusses the film Nonna's on Netflix. It stars Vince Vaugnn in a less over the top role than usual in a story that's based on a real restaurant. Rather than hiring traditional chefs, a restauranteur hires a handful of Italian grandma's (nonna's) to make the food. It's a heartwarming story about the initial struggles and ultimate success of a very niche restaurant. The review sounds lovely, as does the restaurant. If you're ever in Staten Island, give it (and the movie) a shot! Next up, Andrew takes us back in time the Bay Area with Freaky Tales. It's 4 intertwining takes, a la Pulp Fiction, that come together at the end. Much like every other film or TV show this year, it stars Pedro Pascal, but also Ben Mendelsohn, rapper Too $hort, and Jay Ellis. It's not kid friendly, so watch when you have the TV to yourself, but it's a solid watch and a great story. Slingshotting back to the future, Kevin discusses the return of the post apocalyptic series, Twisted Metal, on Peacock. This one stars Anthonay Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz as drivers in a world where you are never truly safe unless you're moving. Despite the world it's set in, this show is a ton of fun and it requires no knowledge of the video game it's based on to enjoy, so if over the top mayhen and witty dialogue (and Kevin's favorite Mackie performance) is your jam, give this one a shot for sure.  Lauren closes the show with a quick review of the new season of Project Runway. It sees the return of Heidi as the host, but lacks some of the old Project Runway magic without Tim Gunn. It's only 2 episodes in, so far, and the challenges have been less than stellar, but it's a long haul, so there is definitely  room for improvement as the season rolls on.  As always, thank you for watching. If you haven't already, don't forget to Like & Subscribe. We love new viewers! Also, leave us comments and let is know how we are doing and what we can be doing better. In the mid-aughts, America became obsessed with high fashion for some reason. Maybe it was Project Runway's silver-haired imp Tim Gunn whispering in our ears to “make it work.” Maybe we were all bewitched by the well-dressed ladies of Sex and the City. But Manolo Blahnik and Jimmy Choo were suddenly household names. Enter Meryl Streep as the boss from Hell: Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief of Runway magazine. She's bringing the fire and brimstone of haute couture to torture her new assistant, played by a fresh-faced Anne Hathaway, in this 2006 comedy written by Aline Brosh McKenna from the novel by Lauren Weisberger. The film was a massive hit, won multiple awards, and scored Oscar noms for Streep and costume designer Patricia Field, who reportedly spent over $1 million to clothe the cast. But does this Runway project make it work? Or does it seem as gauche and dated as last season's trends? They say the devil is in the details, and this time, The Devil Wears Prada.   Gird your loins, everyone!   For more geeky podcasts visit GonnaGeek.com   You can find us on iTunes under ''Legends Podcast''. Dawn Fallik joins us from Philadelphia. __________________________ Bio Dawn Fallik is an award-winning reporter specializing in database analysis, feature writing and medical coverage. She has 20 years of daily reporting experience at for The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Associated Press and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. She spent a month in India covering the tsunami, investigated medical errors and went to the prom at age 26. This year she was nominated and served on the 2022 Pulitzer Prize jury. Although she left full-time reporting for full-time teaching, Fallik continues to cover medical issues for The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, AARP Magazine and Neurology Today. She has worked on the multimedia desks at the Wall Street Journal and The Philadelphia Inquirer. That sounds very woo, but if you think about retirement as a positive thing and not about how much you're going to miss work, that's going to be a big change. And I think a lot of people when they plan for retirement, they're just thinking about the money aspect, like I have to put so much away. And that's sort of such a distant future thing. It's not really a personal plan where you're not just saying I'm going to travel, but I always wanted to go to Greece, and start like having concrete plans that you want to put in place, so that when you do retire, you're already making plans for the future.
