Our Tongo extravaganza is not quite complete, and here we are joined by Cam Siemer of What Were We Watching and Young Jedi Knights Club, as well as our resident Ferengi expert Kregg, to talk about this Troi-centric episode of TNG, in which another empath boards the station and seduces our fair counselor, with, as Jethro Tull it, bad intent, and a delegation of Ferengis and others haggle over the discovery of a *GASP* stable wormhole?! After a big nostalgic trip down memory lane about their experiences playing the famously violent games as children, the RTW hosts, along with special guest Cam Siemer of What Were We Watching, get into the nitty gritty of what works, what doesn’t, and just how it compares to the classic 1995 film adaptation. And Cam brings the Big Cam Energy by encouraging the guys to rank the fatalities in the movie, and also to breeze through an ENTIRE bracket about all the characters in the film in under 10 minutes. There wasn't an issue of Marvel Star Wars in November of 1985, but there was a FULL-BLOWN EWOK TV MOVIE, and we invited our Star Friends from What Were We Watching to come join us to dive into this strange, fantasy romp! Hollywood's Golden Age and the rise of fascism in Europe were happening at the same time, a world apart. Those worlds collided when Hollywood decided to tackle fascism in film. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. opened the exhibit Americans and the Holocaust last year. Now, a traveling event focuses on how depictions of the Nazi agenda influenced American audiences, and why we fought. The event, called What Were We Watching? Americans Response to Nazism Through Cinema, Radio and Media , takes place Tuesday night at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.

The Winter of Star Trek & Our Discontent is nearing completion! Today we bring you the final in our series of Star Trek movie episodes. And what better place to end than with the original Star Trek film, enigmatically titled Star Trek: The Motion Picture. It is a truly bizarre and utterly fascinating piece of American cinema history, coming right on the heels of Star Wars, and on the cancellation of Star Trek: Phase II. Eric Ambler, of the What Were We Watching podcast, joins in to dish on this strange piece of pop art, which is as painfully slow as it is gorgeous, as misguided as it is brilliant, and worth revisiting if you haven’t recently. So cuddle up with your favorite Carbon Unit and drink in these four nerds as they travel deep within the V-Ger complex, excitedly jabbering on about one of the most sleep-inducing films of all time.
