God lytting!

It's been nearly six years since Hailey Bieber last appeared on the cover of Vogue—and let's just say, a lot has changed. Now the face of Rhode, one of the most talked-about celebrity skincare brands, Vogue's summer cover star is also stepping into a new chapter as a mother to her son, Jack Blues. On this episode of The Run-Through, writer Alessandra Codinha sits down with Chloe Malle and Deputy Editor Taylor Antrim and shares insights from her time with Hailey—covering everything from the intense scrutiny she faces online, her relationship with her husband Justin Bieber, and the deeply personal story of her difficult childbirth.Earlier on the show, Radhika Seth reports live from the Croisette at the Cannes Film Festival with the latest from the red carpet and the big screen. She recaps her favorite films so far—and the buzzy ones she's most looking forward to. As Taylor notes, "deranged mothers" seem to be trending this season, with Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson's Die, My Love making headlines after its festival premiere. Radhika also weighs in on the controversy swirling around Eddington, Ari Aster's much-hyped follow-up to Beau Is Afraid (spoiler alert: it didn't make her top picks.)And of course, no Cannes coverage would be complete without a fashion moment. The group crowned their unofficial “Queens of Cannes,” with Jeremy Strong earning his title for perfectly coordinating his bucket hats and suits, and Alexander Skarsgård turning heads in thigh-high Saint Laurent boots. No “Beau is Afraid” a sengem radikale Portrait vun enger vu Psychosen zerfriessener Psyche polariséiert den Ari Aster mat “Eddington”, engem Neo-Western, deen als Allegorie op den Albdram, deen d'US-Amerika vun haut ginn ass, ka gelies ginn. Fir eng Rei Kritiker de grousse Flop vun der Competitioun, fir anerer en absolut Meeschterwierk. Wéi de Jeff Schinker an de Marc Trappendreher de Film fonnt hunn – dat lauschtere mer elo.

We break down why this particular entry has connected with audiences when recent Marvel offerings have faltered – examining how its grounded approach, practical location shooting, and thoughtful mental health themes provide a refreshing alternative to CGI-heavy spectacles. Florence Pugh's star power and David Harbour's charismatic performance contribute to a film that feels contained yet consequential within the larger Marvel universe.Summer movie season approaches with promising titles, and we analyze recent trailers for Spike Lee's "High to Low," Celine Song's rom-com "The Materialist," the final "Conjuring" installment, and Zach Cregger's anticipated horror follow-up "Weapons." With Cannes Film Festival underway, we speculate about potential award contenders like Ari Aster's "Eddington" and Julia Ducournau's "Alpha," considering how the festival increasingly predicts Oscar success. Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesMarvel Studios kickoffs of the summer blockbuster season in just 2 weeks with the release of Thunderbolts* on May 2. With tickets now on sale, box office tracking and projections ahead of the film's release are forecasting a solid, if not somewhat soft, opening weekend; with most estimates landing between $63 to $77 million. While that is on the lower side for an MCU movie, optimists believe the general lower level of familiarity with the characters on the roster, combined with the positive test screenings, could give the film significant potential and room to grow in subsequent weeks via word of mouth. Elsewhere, Captain America actor Anthony Mackie offered some insights on Avengers: Doomsday while promoting Twisted Metal Season 2 for Peacock, saying, “It's going to give the audience that old Marvel feeling that they always had.”The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the introduction of a new Oscar category for Achievement in Stunt Design, set to debut at the 100th Academy Awards in 2028, honoring films released in 2027. This decision follows years of advocacy from industry professionals, including director and former stuntman David Leitch and stunt coordinator Chris O'Hara, who was notably credited as the first official "stunt designer" for his work on The Fall Guy. While the specific criteria and presentation details are yet to be finalized, this move is seen as a significant step toward recognizing the creative and technical artistry of stunt professionals in filmmaking. However, there is notable disappointment that earlier works, such as Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible series, will not be eligible for this new recognition.HBO has officially announced the adult cast for its upcoming Harry Potter TV series, confirming several roles and actors we've discussed, along with new additions. John Lithgow will portray Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer is cast as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu takes on Severus Snape, and Nick Frost will play Rubeus Hagrid. Additionally, Luke Thallon has been cast as Professor Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse will portray Argus Filch. Casting for the central trio—Harry, Ron, and Hermione—is still underway, with over 32,000 children auditioning for these iconic roles. The September 6, 1901, assassination of President William McKinley by self-professed anarchist Leon Czolgosz triggered a nationwide political backlash against the killer's like-minded political adherents. It also served as the catalyst for the expansion of nascent federal government surveillance capabilities used against not only anarchists but socialists and members of other social or political movements that were challenging the prevailing political, economic, and social paradigms of the day. And it was the ensuing, decades-long persistent exaggerations of domestic political threats from those movements that drove an exponential increase in the frequency and scale of unlawful government surveillance and related political repression against hundreds of thousands of individual Americans and civil society organizations. The Triumph of Fear is a history of the rise and expansion of surveillance-enabled political repression in America from the late 1890s to early 1961. Drawing on declassified government documents (many obtained via dozens of Freedom of Information Act requests and lawsuits) and other primary sources, Cato Institute senior fellow Patrick Eddington offers historians, legal scholars, political leaders, and general readers surprising new revelations about the scope of government surveillance programs and how this domestic spying helped fuel federal assaults on free speech and association that continue to this day. Join us for a conversation about the book with Eddington led by Caleb Brown, Cato's director of multimedia. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
