On this jam-packed podcast, we covered episodes 6 ('Tribe'), 7 ('The Clone Conspiracy'), and 8 ('Truth and Consequences') of the Bad Batch Season 2. Various topics discussed were the Wookiee tree worship parallels with the Wailing Wall (and the conspiracy of what the wall might actually be), Admiral Rampart being used as a useful idiot/lone gunman to push forward Imperial decrees, the genocide of Kamino being blamed on the weather, and the return of Palpatine to usher in a new Aeon/era of the Galactic Empire (one where the military enlistees all apparently fail target practice). Plus much more! God bless! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/conspiracyintheforce/support

This month's episode is a little late as the festivities from episode 100 went on late into the night, then the next day, week, month etc. The lads finally picked themselves up and soldiered on bravely recounting their Christmas Star Wars 'gifts': the good, the bad, and the ugly. There's also a bumper edition of new acquisitions, covering two months worth of collecting tat. The intro section rounds off with a hard fought Action Figure Face-Off - will Rich let the Wookiee win? - and a knockout quiz from Spoons. The team discusses some fabulous finds from around the collecting community, and Rebel Briefings brings news of delectable displays, French fancies, Taiwan test samples, catching up on conventions, and Toy Shop tour talking. Our main interview guest is Jeremy Maxwell, who tells Rich all about his amazing collection of action figures, Droids and Ewoks runs, autographs, and other great items. The episode rounds off with this month's licensee Domark, and the team's memories of the early days of computer gaming, in which Jason goes a bit Manic. Look forward to all the usual stuff and nonsense throughout!
We're back in this triple-sized episode to discuss THE BAD BATCH Episodes 4, 5 & 6! Three engaging episodes with very different tones, but we make the case that they all emphasize the same themes. We discuss character theories regarding Cid & Phee, the comedy gold of Tay-0 & Tech, WHAT IS UP WITH THAT GIANT MECH, and how George Lucas directly influenced the Wookiee culture of "Tribe".
Friend of the channel Finn Clay AKA Finndormoon joins Jo to breakdown episodes 5 and 6 of Bad Batch season 2: "Entombed" and "Tribe"!

This week we actually have an episode worth discussing as we head to Kashyyyk, the homeworld of the Wookiees! The newest episode of The Bad Batch featured a return to Kashyyyk and the return of a beloved Wookiee character from The Clone Wars. Ladies and Gentlemen of the podcast audience, I would like you to consider Chewbacca. Chewbacca is an 8-foot-tall Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the moon of Endor. Why would a Wookiee, an 8-foot-tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor with a bunch of 2-foot-tall Ewoks? It makes no sense. Why am I talking about Chewbacca in the introduction of this podcast? The Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978 is a bad TV show. Poorly conceived, poorly written, poorly made. Just a miserable experience to sit through, from endless unsubtitled Wookiee dialogue scenes to Carrie Fisher's Carrie Carpenter impression. Something old and something new on this week's podcast. We begin by diving deep into the absolute madness that is the Star Wars Holiday Special, which may or may not involve virtual reality Wookiee sex. There are no words for how weird this 1978 artifact is, but we will attempt to find them anyway as we break down the insanity. Then, we have a treat for you as we present an exclusive clip from the new High Republic audio drama Star Wars: The Battle of Jedha! This is the only place where you can hear this advance listen to the upcoming story coming out January 3. Wookiee Week is upon us and we kick off the celebration by highlighting Chewbacca, one of our favorite all-time Star Wars characters. We will relive moments from the big screen, TV shows, books, and comics that have made Chewie a unique mainstay within the fandom.Chewie got an expanded story throughout the Legends novels after the original trilogy. Since then, he has graced the big screen multiple times where he meets Han for the first time, assists the Jedi in the fight against the separatist droids, and takes over the pilot seat in the Millennium Falcon. Welcome to the place where I get to let my geek flag fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. This is where I look into the world of geekdom and some geek news, comics, The Simpsons, Star Wars, and whatever randomness finds its way onto the recording. In blackest day... some comic book movies seem indefensible. Is no one out there willing to try and make light of even the worst comic book movies? Who defends even them? Well constant listener, that's where Blue and I decided it was high time someone heroically tried to do just that and over 12 (now 13) episodes, we have done just that. This episode marks another attempted comeback issue of Blue and Wookiee, The (CBM) Defenders, returning after a hiatus of over 100 levels of geeky hilarity. We start this heroic return with a super-powered defense of Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World plus a bonus MCU film, The Eternals. Basically the good, the bad, and the ugly about the films where we finish with some positivity and why the movie might be worth watching as a geek and/or comic book movie enthusiast. Not an easy feat every time we do it but a lot of fun to do. Did we succeed in defending these movies? Listen and see! Congrats on completing Level 316 of the podcast! AN ALL-BIRD CAST?! This month, we cover a genuine, bonafide oddity that somehow survived for over 70 years. Winner of a special Oscar, Bill and Coo spins a simple tale of love and bravery. The only difference is...everyone's a bird!!!
We're taking a trip back to 1978 to discuss Kurtis Findlay's favourite piece of Star Wars, The Story of the Faithful Wookiee, from the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special. Have you ever wondered exactly how this quirky piece of Star Wars animation came to be? Of course you haven't, but Kurtis is here to tell you all about it, from a certain point of view.
THE KNIGHTS OF REN BREAK INTO VADER'S CASTLE ON MUSTAFAR! Mike delves into the fourth batch of Crimson Reign comics, where the infamous Knights Of Ren (& their leader before Kylo) attempt to steal a key from Darth Vader while the Crimson Dawn conspiracy continues to plunge the galaxy into chaos. Plus, the Bounty Hunters crew try to escape a horde of Unbroken Clan loyalists, Vader probes Sabé & Ochi about Crimson Dawn, Commander Zahra makes a daring gambit against the entire Rebellion fleet and Aphra finally gets her hands on the Spark Eternal… This story is set after Empire Strikes Back & after the War Of The Bounty Hunters event, but before Return Of The Jedi and the reading order is BH22>CR4>DV22>SW23>DA20. BH22 was released 6th April 2022 and was written by Ethan Sacks with Paolo Villanelli as artist and Arif Prianto as colour artist. Crimson Reign 4 was released 27th April 2022 and was written by Charles Soule, with Steven Cummings as penciller, Victor Olazaba as inker and Guru eFX as colour artist. Last week, Mike tackled the first volume of Han Solo & Chewbacca comics; set in the years between Solo and A New Hope, where Han & Chewie are up to no good again! Join us on the first 5 issues (of 10) of their time doing a job for Jabba The Hutt where nothing seems to go right for the duo; they meet a man claiming to be Han's father, have to work with the nefarious Greedo, Chewie gets in (another) violent confrontation with the Wookiee bounty hunter Krrsantan plus so much more! The Fess Girls are back at it with an extra-musical episode that just drives home one universal truth: Every conversation can circle back to cannibalism. In this episode, the Girls parody a classic Disney number, they discuss Wookiee reproductive systems, and they theorize about the various kinks in Bikini Bottom. To bring a little wholesome to the raunchy, they also figure out what two Mamma Mia Characters they are. Be sure to listen to the very end, you won't want to miss the post-credits scene!
ON A JOB THAT GOES SOUTH, DOES HAN SOLO MEET HIS ESTRANGED FATHER? Set in the years between Solo and A New Hope, Han & Chewie are up to no good again! Some unexpected familiar faces also appear… This story is set after the movie Solo but before A New Hope, approximately 2-8 years before the Battle of Yavin (8-2BBY). Han Solo & Chewbacca's first arc; The Crystal Run, was written by Marc Guggenheim, the artist was David Messina and the colour artist was Alex Sinclair. Issue 1 was released March 9th 2022, issue 5 was released August 10th 2022 and the trade paperback collection is due for release November 8th 2022. SITH CULTISTS FROM EXEGOL THREATEN LANDO, REY'S PARENTS AND LUKE! Shadow Of The Sith by Adam Christopher is this episode's focus where Mike gives you his spoiler-free thoughts on the book, with some plot details near the end! Set in 21ABY (17 years after Return Of The Jedi & 13 years before The Force Awakens), this book tells interweaving stories about Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, Ochi Of Bestoon, a young Rey and her parents Dathan & Miramir, all caught up in a plot by the Sith Eternal! In more detail, Mike gives his spoiler-free thoughts on the book, as well as providing background information, he then provides some minor details on themes and the general pacing & start of the book, while steering clear of any major plot points, before providing his full thoughts at the end which include spoilers about appearances, great moments, connections to related content and an overview of the plot. Please note due to general life busyness, Mike recorded this in his car, so the audio quality isn't as good as it usually is! Last week, in ep 105 of SWCIC, Mike delved into 6 stories within 5 comics surrounding the canon cruise ship The Halcyon which span from The High Republic Era all the way up to The Last Jedi, with stories in each of the main eras of the current Star Wars canon! As some pirates try to capture a resistance spy from the ship, stories are told to keep a young girl's mind off of the havoc, including an adventure with Wookiee padawan Burryaga, bounty hunter Aurra Sing fighting a monster, Maz Kanata working with Hondo Ohnaka & Lando to steal back an artifact, Anakin & Padmé pursue a senator and a man is tracked down by some familiar bounty hunters! Worlds collide as the Docking Bay 77 Podcast, the Surely You Can't Be Serious Podcast, and the 30Something Movie Podcast all pit their Star Wars trivia intellect against each other. I've got a great feeling about this!
Jonah Blank, senior Political Scientist at the RAND Corporation, assesses the messages sent (and received) by all the Chinese missiles lobbed over Taiwan.
