Whether you're a full-time Mom where your job is inside the home, or a Mom who has an additional full or part time job outside the home, YOU HAVE A JOB. That job has REAL value. And we should start thinking about it like that. (Side note: I also believe that being a Dad is a job and more people should treat it as such, and dad expectations should be as high as mom expectations, but we're talking about Moms here today.) I've invited Ashley Quinto Powell to join me to talk about this concept of Mom as a career, and as an employer. Ashley is a serial entrepreneur, a national speaker, and the author of Executive Motherhood: The Art of Having It All Without Doing It All. As the Founder of the Virtual Assistant Agency, myVA Rocks, she knows a thing or two about running a business, and she's spoken about motherhood for TEDx. Ashley provides a different perspective on Motherhood by redefining “mom,” as a mother and as an employer.  Whether you're a “yummy mummy” (you know those super zen yogi moms that wouldn't dream of losing their cool and individually squeeze the milk of organic almonds while sculpting their abs, soothing kids' feelings and saving the whales), a holding on by the seat of your pants Mom, or any other type of Mom, YOU HAVE VALUE!! Recognizing, appreciating, and acknowledging that value isn't just Woman's Work. It's society's work.  It's about time we see it for what it is: Women. Doing. Invaluable. Work. 4 Hidden Steps to Becoming a Jedi

Your Amazing Life!

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 10, 2021 12:08

So, what does it take to become a Jedi? You have a specific story that only you can share with and change the world. How do you get your story out there? You are unique. There is something different about each of you. If you are in your power “resistance is futile” But if you are not there, how do you get there? How do you get your story out there? What is it you are here to share with the world? Number 1: I hope each one of you realizes that you are here on a mission. There is a higher purpose to you and your life. There are so many things that your mission can be about. Maybe it is getting others to enjoy life. If your life is stressful, meaningless, and uninspiring then you have not found your purpose. You were not born to survive this life. Remember the poem Our Greatest Fear by Marianne Williamson Number 2: Some will, some won't, Who's next? Your mission will speak to some but not to others. Don't let those that don't see it get you down. Move on! Do not let them stop you because they can't see your vision. Be persistent. Keep trying! As you continue to try you will find those that want to hear your story. Number 3: Know that you have value. Realize your true worth. Know what you have to offer others. Look at the things that you have accomplished. See what you are good at. Get to know yourself for who you are. We do not need to compare how we have done as opposed to others just in comparison to ourselves. You are great not because you are better than others. You are great because of who you are and what you do? Number 4: Realize you are a leader. Speak out, what you are here to share. Make sure that you share your story with others. Realize the success you have created from the experiences that you have had over your lifetime. You are a leader because you are bent on improving yourself and your life. You are a leader to children, neighbors, coworkers, If you look at your light you will find ways that you are a leader. Those of you who think that you are not a leader, do you fear the light you have that people might follow. As a leader realize you are human. You are not perfect nor do you know all the right answers. As a leader, you should be able to find answers in others. If you are tired of suffering, beating up on yourself, do you feel powerless, uninspired, and stressed; If you want to struggle less and enjoy more. If you want a truly amazing life that is connected and complete, you need the “You Have Value” program. If you are willing to make some changes, if you think you may be a fit for the “You Have Value" program let's talk. Your Amazing Life!

Today I have a story, Mr. Clark spent most of his life's savings on non-refundable tickets for a ship to carry him, his wife, and 5 children to America. About a week before the ship left one of Mr. Clark's sons was bitten by a dog. The Dr. that treated the boy recommended the boy be quarantined for his safety and the safety of those around him. Mrs. Clark suggested that Mr. Clark and the other kids go ahead and make the journey. But Mr. Clark was unwilling to leave his wife and ill son behind. So the day came and on April 10th 1912 at the Southampton Port. Mr. Clark stood on the dock with tears of disappointment and frustration streaming down his face while he watched the ship as it left for America. Think about it, all of his money was leaving the port. He believed his future and dreams all gone. I'm betting he felt alone. I would have been asking why? Why me, why now? I understand what he was going through. There have been times when I felt I had lost everything. I watched as my “ship” left the port. We talk about our “ship coming in,” that is a common phrase. But that also means the ship can leave. So as he is setting on the dock watching it go. Maybe he even second guessed himself. Maybe he said I and the other kids should have gone. Maybe he told himself he was weak. What kind of thoughts would have gone through your mind? We as humans love to make plans but life often doesn't go by our plans. But what if the experience was for our protection? You look at your suffering and compare it to the suffering you see in others. The problem is like we talked about in podcast 190. We only see the before and after the transformation not the middle. We often don't see the adversity of others. It is important to look outside of ourselves and see the misery that others are experiencing. If we look carefully most of the time we will find that others are also facing difficulties. Suffering is relative; it doesn't matter the experience it will completely fill the human soul and conscious mind. It can fill the soul and mind because of the story we tell about our suffering. With the story we can fill small crevasse or the largest buildings. This is not to say your distress is insignificant. On the contrary the story you tell yourself is compelling and can cause much pain. If you can't see the disaster of the boat sinking the pain can go on and on because the story does. But it may be that the plan you had would not have been in your best interest. Even though it looked like it would be. Recognize that God or the Universe might want something else for you. Maybe a street or highway 5 miles over that will get you to the place you are meant to be rather than the road ahead of you. Be sure to look at it from that point of view. The things that happen are for you not to you or against you! We often tell people that they shouldn't have to experience this, or outlive certain people. But that is wishful thinking. In life and in accordance with natural law there are times when youth have to go through horrible things and some parents do lose their kids. I get that these things happen but you are in charge of your story. So instead ask a better question: ask yourself what now? If you need help with this I can give you tools and keep you accountable. The “You Have Value” program is specifically created for you. It will give you tools that work for you! So reach out to me to set up a time to talk and let us create the value so that you can have an amazing life! So maybe you have been thinking about why I call the coaching program “You Have Value.” Well if we look around at our communities many people are questioning their value. Now the world and some individuals in it feel that their value is more than others. Then there are others who feel like their value is attacked and they are less than people around them. I have told you about my past and how I struggled and felt like I was less than others. People can feel attacked due to racial, cultural, financial or religious differences. We have communities that feel they are not represented or given the same chance to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is sad that what we knew as a toddler that humans are all lovable, we no longer can believe. Now I feel for and want to make a difference in this and for all. I know that there are problems in this world and that many people have experienced things that I haven't. I know that there are people that have been wronged. I know the system doesn't protect all. I want to understand you. No matter who you are what you look like or believe. I know that many feel that in order to have value they must be treated differently than they are now. We should treat everyone with value if we want to feel it for ourselves. I know there are people that felt like if they are treated as if they have value it may produce the value they seek inside. I do not want anyone to feel like they are less than I or another person. I have felt less than others before. I have also made others feel like they are less. It was due to my limitations. I beg forgiveness of all those that I have treated like they didn't have value. That is not who I am nor is it about what I want. It is my goal to create knowledge of their value in millions of people. So that is why I am here! That is what I do! This is so not being addressed I can't even find it on Google. I can find websites to help find the value of X or the value of a car, home, and many other things but no websites listed to help me develop value as a person. Am I missing something. What can you find? How do you develop value in yourself? Join the community and tell where you have found your value. Ask questions about getting to the next step. Creating value within yourself will change your life. That is worth the effort isn't it? This is why your Value is so important. I do not want you to settle for less than you are worth. You should not take a job or be in a relationship where they do not know your value. Never settle for someone else's definition of your value. Do not accept pawnshop people in your life! Do not allow just anyone to influence your perception of yourself. Create your story of your value. Learn to love your life. Refuse the opinions of small minded people. In our next podcast we will be talking with Katie Rawling and how she has learned to refuse the opinions of small minded people and through the You Have Value program created a life that she loves.
