Weekly podcast of Southern friends talking, in their best southern accents, about whatever is on their mind. No politics, maybe a little religion, and gratuitous use of the words "ain't" and "y'all."

Send us Fan MailIn this episode, I dust off four more old newspaper columns from the early days of me pretending I knew what I was doing. They may not be my finest work, and a couple of them feel like they were written by a man running entirely on coffee, deadline panic, and blind confidence, but they still carry the heart of where it all started. This round wanders through memories, small-town life, and the kind of ordinary moments that somehow felt important enough to make the paper. Some hold up better than others. Some probably should have stayed in the archives. Either way, it's a look back at the writing voice I was trying to find before I ever knew anyone might be listening to years later.

Send us Fan MailYears ago, I wrote these columns in the middle of real life-raising kids, working in law enforcement, watching small-town Georgia unfold, and trying to make sense of the funny, hard, and holy parts of it all. Now I'm reading them again for the first time in years. In each episode, I revisit an old column or two, read it out loud, then reflect on what was happening then, what still holds up now, and what time has taught me since. Part storytelling, part commentary, and part conversation with my younger self, this podcast is about memory, meaning, and the strange experience of meeting your old words again, .

Send us a textRoy J. Yekel returns to the podcast to talk about his recent, first trip to New Orleans. The conversation turns to Jesus and jiu-jitsu, and I think we wrap up by giving medical advice that neither one of us has any business giving.

Courtney Moore's episode from two years ago is currently the most listened to episode. She's back to see if she can top that one. Neither of us remembered what we talked about last time, so this may be little more than a repeat of that one.

Chris Teare, of On Patrol Live fame, stopped by the ol homestead last weekend to talk about being famous and whatever else we talked about.

Shea said my last podcast was slightly boring, so she came down to help me out with this one. Hopefully the first of many.

On this episode, I try to remember the long list of jobs I've had over the years, and the dumb reasons I quit them.

Back in March, I went to New Orleans with some buddies from work. Then I came home, waited a few months and talked about it into a microphone.

The ever fascinating Courtney Moore was kind enough to come chat, bringing with her all her knowledge of reptiles and people she'd like to bring back to life and talk to.
