This is a GrowthReady Replay, rewinding back to Fall 2020, when Steve Mellor sat down with Jesse Cole, founder of Fans First Entertainment and the owner of the Banana Ball Championship League, including the world-famous Savannah Bananas. It's a conversation about what real competitors do when the world gets smaller: they don't complain about limitations… they lean into them.Jesse shares the story behind building a baseball brand that sells out games, creates lifelong memories for fans, and turns entertainment into a serious competitive advantage, especially when pressure hits. After a career-ending shoulder injury ended his playing dreams, Jesse pivoted into leadership and entrepreneurship, eventually helping build a fans first organization known for bold experimentation, unforgettable in-stadium moments, and a relentless commitment to creating joy.Competing when resources are tight and stakes are highTurning limitations into fuel (instead of excuses)Experimenting fast, learning faster, and staying accountable to a public visionCreating emotional connection as the real measure of successConnect with Jesse / Savannah BananasSearch Savannah Bananas on your favorite platformWatch the short documentary: “The Banana Story”Visit their website www.findyouryellowtux.comSend us Fan MailSupport the showConnect with Steve MellorStay connected and keep growing with Steve:LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/steve-mellor-cc/Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/coachstevemellorBook Steve to speak at your next event → www.stevemellorspeaks.comSupport the GrowthReady Podcast by leaving a 5-star rating → Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/growthready-podcast/id1406082163Connect with GrowthReadyJoin the community and keep your growth journey going:LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/wearegrowthready/Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/growthreadypodcast/Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/growthreadywithcoachstevemellorOfficial Website - https://growthready.com/----This podcast was produced on Riverside and released via ...
OTAs are finally here, and the hype around the 2026 Saints season is starting to build. Mario Jerez and Erin Summers break down the biggest storylines to watch as the team returns to the practice field, including Tyler Shough's development, player usage and positioning, and who shows up for voluntary workouts. Plus, the debut of a brand new segment: YES or BS. The crew debates whether Chris Olave is getting massively underrated around the league despite putting up elite production through constant offensive instability. Is the “injury prone” label fair? And why does his reputation among fans still feel lower than his actual production? Then: Kellen Moore vs the rest of the NFC South. Mario explains why the Saints' new head coach/playcaller enters the division as the most accomplished offensive mind by a wide margin — and why that should give Saints fans real optimism heading into the season. They also tackle a big betting question: Will the Saints make the playoffs this year? With expectations clearly rising inside the building, Mario and Erin discuss what a postseason appearance would mean for the future of the franchise, Tyler Shough's development, and the overall direction of the organization. And of course, the latest from #SaintsTwitter: Saints players go bowling before OTAs Alvin Kamara hits the Savannah Bananas game Derek Carr talks about his former team online again...... No guest this week — just Craig and Chad back in the garage, one of them fresh off a dance audition and the other off a baseball playoff thriller. What starts as the Savannah Bananas and a $100 parking ticket at the Giants turns into the most honest money conversation the show has had all season.A few weeks ago, Congress introduced the Let Kids Play Act — a bill to force private equity out of youth sports leagues, facilities, tournaments, and tech platforms, refund the "junk fees," and hold PE investors personally liable. The headline number the sponsors are using: youth sports costs are up 46% since 2019. Every parent listening has watched their tournament-fee line item climb. So is the bill naming the right enemy?Chad and Craig don't fully agree, and they don't pretend to. The bill is the easy conversation. The hard one is the one Craig walks straight into: we built the studio. They're not outside the system pointing fingers — they're inside the economics they're critiquing, and they say so. From there it goes everywhere the real tension lives: the 501(c)(3)s sitting on millions in cash while there's no green space left to play, franchise clubs that sell structure to volunteer boards, and the simple, uncomfortable motivation test — athlete first, or dollar first? Then the money trickles down to the kids. They get into high school NIL (Chad's stat: only seven states prohibit it — 43 allow it), the Tom Brady hypothetical that shows how fast it could get corrupted, and tryout season as it's actually playing out right now: the undercurrent, the FOMO, the "you're on team one — actually, team two." Craig pulls back the curtain on what coaches are really doing behind the scenes, including the mid-season transfer that makes him pick up the phone and call your old coach. The through-line is winning vs. development — and how "development" became a marketing word that means nothing until you ask the right follow-up question. Craig on getting battered 10-0 every weekend ("I'm psychologically checked out before I even turn up"). The European academy model we keep ignoring. And the research that should change how every parent thinks about practice: the gains that actually set a kid apart happen in the backyard, not the $400 showcase. They land on the saddest trend either of them has seen in 20-plus years around youth sports: kids quiet quitting the game. "I didn't ask you to do any of that." No clean verdict — just two parents, irritated about their checking accounts, working out loud what's actually worth paying for.

In this episode, I talk about my recent trip to Mexico, where I had dental work done and experienced the benefits of medical tourism. I break down the cost comparisons between the US and Mexico, showing how cleanings, root canals, and crowns can be thousands of dollars cheaper south of the border. I also share some personal stories about finding the right dentist and how geo-arbitrage can save you serious money while enjoying a little getaway. Then I dive into racism and Obama. I talk about how Obama “brought racism back,” the rise of systemic racism narratives, DEI and identity politics, and the way media and propaganda have shaped public perception. I get into how these narratives divide the country and how free speech plays a role in countering them.I also touch on Trump's visit to China, social media censorship, stoicism & Ryan Holiday, sports updates including the World Cup and Savannah Bananas, finance & markets—and so much more.

Nancy got excited about it being Hump Day and got shut down by Joey and Karly. Joey went to his son’s chorus concert last night and was confused by a song about axolotls. Karly saw a small child hanging out of a moving car’s window, waving and flipping people off. The kid was clearly not in a car seat or even buckled in at all. She wondered if she should have called the police or not. Hot Tea: Ella Langley clapped back at a hate comment on TikTok. Maren Morris claimed that she never said she hated country music as a genre; she meant the country music industry. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are starring in a new TV show where they reference the fact that they might be half-brothers. A teenager just graduated from law school and is already pursuing more degrees. Joey saw a video of two semi-trucks that were blocking the interstate lanes. A driver passed them on the right shoulder, got in front of a truck, and slammed on their breaks to try to teach them a lesson. Lucky 7 for $50 to The Diner at Twister’s! somehow not the worst Street Fighter movie This week Nando, DJ, and Diggins jump in their fancy boat and sonic boom over to watch the movie that everyone sort of likes now even though it's a mess, 1994's Street FIghter. MERCH Pre-Order - https://nonmembersshop.com/Happy National Eat What You Want Day! We kick off the episode by motivating everyone to stay consistent with their workouts (Erin is officially on week 5 of her pull up journey!) before diving into a highly specific, heated rant about deceptive grocery store produce bags, why are tangerines and limes sold in color matching mesh bags to hide the rotting fruit?! We also celebrate the official launch of our merch store (grab your koozies, hoodies, and mystery trinkets while you can!) and pop open a Recess Mood drink to calm down. Then, we get into the main event: Erin's massive, multi-day recap of the Dick's Sporting Goods Varsity Team brand trip in Tampa. Event planning is officially a sport, proven by Erin walking into a hotel room stocked with a personalized cake, $500 in Stanley gear, and a daily wardrobe. Erin explains how she entered "survival mode" to become a mega extrovert, surviving a upscale carnival complete with a Ferris wheel, and an Adidas yacht party featuring custom Sambas, permanent jewelry, and a saxophone player jamming to Bad Bunny. She also chilled in a speakeasy movie theater in custom pajamas, and finally got to wear her sparkly Adidas tracksuit to a jaw dropping banquet featuring aerial yoga and a hidden 7 piece band. The physical toll of the trip was brutal, featuring a blazing hot "On" HIIT class with "no-nonsense Giovanni" (where Erin and the gym bros were secretly collapsing behind his back) and an insanely hard Pilates session with Molly Seidel's sister, Izzy. Erin also defends her "Grease Girl" status by refusing to wear the provided orange short shorts in the sun. Finally, we debut our highly anticipated on site interview with the Savannah Bananas player who famously face planted doing a backflip on live TV. He reveals the shocking behind-the-scenes details of the crash, the concussion, and the CNN producer's terrible reaction to the blood. We wrap up with a quick rant about the fever dream that is the Tampa airport and beg our listeners to prove to Mike that he isn't just broadcasting to an empty void.
Caleb Epp fills in for JB, and CannCon, Alpha Warrior, Cam Cooksey, and Caleb get right into it. CannCon coins the new show slogan, "Men Unsupervised," before diving into Mother's Day recaps and NHL playoff predictions with Caleb backing the Avs over the Sabres in six. Alpha brings a full breakdown of the Savannah Bananas and all 11 rules of Banana Ball that somehow makes the strongest case yet for it being the most entertaining sport in America. Cam keeps the chaos going with a trained Florida alligator clip, a Georgia Bulldogs stadium roast, and the Uncle Otis Hennessy birthday cake that the whole crew cannot explain. The show closes on a live audience poll after watching a husband catfish his own wife headed to a Tinder date, with the chat splitting dead fifty-fifty on whether it was real. Men unsupervised. Episode 80.

While the Taylor Swifts and Harry Styleses of the world may still get away with charging obscene prices for concert tickets, many other artists (like Post Malone and Kid Cudi) are also trying to increase sale prices—and then often cancelling concerts after low sales.
