How many things have you put off in your life? The Sink Full of Dishes Podcasts are personal stories from Beardo to help motivate or inspire you to address things that pile up, or that you keep ignoring in your world. It's a podcast to help you #CleanUpYourLife
In this episode, I'm talking about the legacy you hope to leave behind, or at the very least I'm trying to get you to think about what you hope to leave behind.
The blender is annoying and loud but that's all part of the process to created a great shake. We need to start remembering that listening is also part of the creating a great life.
Every person has a spoon in their drawer that they don't like. Maybe it's a different color, shape or style but we just hate it. I use that analogy this week to take about racism and the culture war happening in America.
Mr. Rogers told us to "look for the helpers". Now sometimes that means looking for the person doing something incredible like running into a burning building, and other times that means looking for the person willing to help you do the dishes. Either way, the helpers need to be celebrated, and that's what I'm doing on this episode.
The world could use a little more understanding and admission that we don't know everything. I try to give you some pointers to help you be proud of yourself and your neighbor. I also throw in an anecdote about meatloaf to drive the point home.
I found myself in a funk this week and realized I was hitting a block mentally. I kept trying to forge on though. It was almost like I was trying to cram everything from the sink into the dishwasher even though it was already overflowing with things that needed to be cleaned.
We need to be our genuine selves online, but so often we pass things through so many filters that it's tough to tell what's real. Without being genuine online you miss the little things that make us unique. It’s like buying the same drink at a corporate coffee shop just so you can get the photo with it, but really you could have made better tasting coffee at home for half the price and just went about your day.
Social Media is like our coffee in the morning. We can choose to have a meaningful, tasty experience to start our day. We can also choose to drink the office coffee from the pot that hasn't been cleaned in weeks and is going to leave us full of regret.
It's easy to get comfortable with routine just like it's easy to follow a recipe step-by-step. But sometimes you need to break the routine, get out of your comfort zone and mix things up to truly master the recipe of life.
The Law of Attraction is the theme of Episode 6. Sure, we can all think positively and attract good things, but you won't keep them unless you put in the work. It's time you took responsibility for loading your dishwasher of life.
Other people's expectations and our own comparisons to other people's lives can lead us to make rash decisions. And those decisions, or even wishes can come with some major consequences. I share a personal tale of when I wished, compared and listened to expectations that only led to misery, betrayal and ultimately...regret.
Our pasts are often treated like that chipped mug we hold onto for sentimental reasons, but hidden away for no one to see or use. I'm here to tell you to stop hiding the mug just because it has a few flaws...
How many things have you put off because the plan wasn't ready? Probably a lot. Well I'm here to tell you that no matter what you do, you'll never be fully prepared for the messes life throws your way.
COVID-19 has stopped us all in our tracks. We've lost jobs, toilet paper can't be found on a store shelf and home has felt like a prison. So how could it be possible to stay positive, and hopeful? I'll break it down for ya.
I want to help you realize the things you've been ignoring in your life, but what does a "sink full of dishes" have to do with that? I'll tell you and help you clean up the mess to #CleanUpYourLife.
