Recent reporting in the Washington Post found that Tulsi Gabbard has been taking policy guidance from her guru. We revisit our episode from May 2023, where we lay out Gabbard's lifelong involvement in this cult: What does it mean for a prominent American politician to come into power as the sleeper cell of an eccentric Hindu-American cult? Does she act independently, or has her God-man got her on speed-dial? Can she bridge the divide between left and right with the radiant glow of Krishna consciousness? Joining us today to help answer these questions is Nitai Joseph. He shares some heritage with Gabbard, because he also grew up in a Hare Krishna sect. He holds an MSc. in the Psychology of Coercive Control and has worked across a range of issues connected to ideology and manipulation, including cultic awareness, child sexual abuse prevention, adverse meditation experiences, and organizational ethics and accountability. Welcome back to ADHD-ish! In this episode, I sit down with Paul Pape, a creative business coach who brings creativity and playfulness to entrepreneurship by turning business strategy into an adventure—literally.Together, we explore the starving artist myth, the difference between creatives and artists, and why traditional business advice often falls flat for "cloud thinkers" with ADHD.You'll hear behind-the-scenes stories about rescuing multi-million dollar businesses with a single round of "D&D Business Edition," how self-knowledge (and a character sheet!) can help you embrace your quirks, and find profit, purpose, and magic—on your own terms.Whether you're a seasoned creative entrepreneur or wondering how to turn your neurodivergence into your greatest asset, this conversation is filled with wisdom bombs, real talk, and practical strategies for making business—and life—a game worth playing. Here are my top 3 takeaways for creative entrepreneurs and fellow neurodivergents:Gamify for Engagement: Turning business challenges into quests (not just tasks!) makes even the most daunting to-do list approachable and—dare I say—fun. Paul swears by quest structures with tangible rewards to help ADHD brains stay motivated and follow through.Identity Is Your Superpower: Creating a "character sheet" for yourself enables candid self-reflection, minus the ego panic. It's a way to step outside traditional business coaching and unlock rapid personal growth—especially for those who hide or mask their real selves.Redefine Success on Your Terms: Not every creative business needs to scale. chooses bespoke, deeply connected work over group programs and mass-produced results. The real magic? Custom approaches lead to legacy-building impact for both coach and client.Ready to gamify your business? Take Paul's personality quiz at www.gamifybusiness.com/quizAbout today's guest, Paul Pape:Despite the challenges of running an all-custom operation—a model many believe is doomed to fail—Paul Pape has been thriving, creating more than 3,000 original products for an impressive roster of clients, including Disney, Universal, and Nickelodeon, as well as individuals from around the globe. His unwavering dedication and inventive spirit have sustained his business for over 20 years, proving that passion and adaptability can defy the odds.In addition to his custom design work, Paul runs Gamify Business, where he is the barkeep in a tavern for creatives. The Washington Post report raises serious, though disputed, questions about whether Tulsi Gabbard’s political career was partly shaped by guidance from a longtime spiritual mentor, based on thousands of internal memos that appear to offer detailed instructions on policy and messaging. In this special episode of Raagadri, we journey through the timeless masterpiece Shri Nathadi Guruguho, the very first composition of Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar, set in the majestic raga Mayamalavagowla. Together, we explore the beauty of the raga, the story behind the kriti, and the profound symbolism of Muruga as Guruguha - the Guru who resides in the cave of the heart. Through the insights of the Upanishads, the devotion of Arunagirinathar, the wisdom of Adi Shankaracharya, and Dikshitar's own spiritual vision, this episode reveals how a composition can become a pathway from Bhakti to Self-Knowledge. More than a musical exploration, this is an invitation to reflect, inquire, and discover the light that shines within us all.Om Saravanabhava.

Summary:1. Guru and student: devotion must go both ways “I think we talk a lot about guru devotion… But I think we don't talk enough about devotion toward the student from the guru. That is equally important.” This sets the core message: Vajrayana demands not only the student's devotion to the guru, but equally the guru's deep devotion, care, and responsibility toward the student.2. A tantric guru without realization is in karmic danger “If the guru has not achieved that bhumi… then guru is still subject to karma… These kinds of gurus, for their own good, they really have to be careful, because this is almost like a prisoner trying to help another prisoner escape.” He stresses that non‑enlightened gurus are still samsaric beings, so taking on students without caution creates serious karmic debt and risk for both sides.3. Choosing and examining the guru is non‑negotiable “Nowhere in the Tantric texts it mentions without analysis of the guru and the teachings, one should just embark on the path. No way! That is not possible.” Vajrayana does not ask for blind faith. Careful hearing, contemplation, and critical analysis of both teachings and teacher are required before committing.4. The guru's three core duties toward the student “If you are not enlightened but you have the job to teach and lead… Three things that you need to do. You have to have utmost respect to your student… The second is you have to have compassion… Third, you have to have pure perception. Under no way should you see your student as a lowly being who you can abuse.” He boils the guru's responsibility down to respect, compassion, and unwavering pure perception toward the student, rejecting any abusive or exploitative view.5. In Vajrayana, “rely on the teaching, not the teacher” still applies “So it's because of this, the Buddha's statement, ‘rely on teaching, not teacher' still applies also in the Vajrayana. Because in the Vajrayana, teacher is teaching. It's not just a person. It's a teaching itself.” Even with strong guru devotion, the ultimate reliance is on the Dharma itself; the “guru” is fundamentally the living teaching, not the personality.

Growth requires gratitude. But it also requires movement. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down why outgrowing a mentor, mastermind, or coaching program is a natural part of leveling up in business. Let's be real… The person who helped you reach your first level… May not be the same person who can guide you to the next one. And that does not mean they failed you. It means the season changed. In this episode, you'll learn: Why different levels require different mentors How staying in the wrong room too long can slow your growth Why graduating from a mentor should be done with gratitude, not guilt How upgrading your circle resets your hunger and expands your vision The truth is simple: You cannot stay in the same room forever just because that room once helped you grow. At some point… You may know the answers. You may be the highest performer. You may no longer be challenged. And when that happens, the next move is not disrespect. It is elevation. High-level operators audit their environment constantly. They honor the people who helped them start. They take the lessons. They leave with class. And they step into rooms where they are once again surrounded by giants. Because growth requires humility. It requires courage. It requires the willingness to become a student again. Graduate with gratitude. Upgrade the room. Find the next mountain. And keep leveling up. Your Network is your NETWORTH! In this high-energy episode of Pursue Your Passion, host Tyler Kamerman sits down with leadership coach, consultant, and creator of the "Iowa Kind" initiative, Allie Jones. Together, they unpack a cultural and professional trap that so many of us fall into: choosing the comfort of being surface-level "nice" over the radical commitment to being truly kind. Allie shares how her journey back to the Midwest exposed a deficit - the gap between the storied "Iowa Nice," and possibility of "Iowa Kind." If you've been walking on eggshells to please people instead of stepping into the courageous honesty needed to move your business or community forward, this conversation will completely reinvent how you view communication. The real "aha" moment hits when Allie drops a truth bomb about finding clarity in your career and life goals. In a world screaming with social media notifications, endless business books, and self-proclaimed expert blueprints, we have lost the ability to get quiet enough to listen to our own instincts. Allie and Tyler challenge listeners to break free from the traditional "stay small and quiet" mindset, embrace the messy friction of real hospitality, and start tuning into their internal intuition. If you are ready to stop looking for shortcuts to contentment and finally take your next right step with bold clarity, grab your headphones and press play! Key Takeaways Niceness is a Shortcut, Kindness is the Goal: "Nice" is a surface-level tool used to avoid discomfort and ensure immediate agreeableness. "Kindness" is the courageous, authentic work that prioritizes long-term connection and real progress over temporary comfort. Ditch the Gurus for Your Own Intuition: Stop looking for a five-step blueprint from outside influencers. Allie's ultimate advice for a mental breakthrough is to go on a 30-minute walk with absolutely zero audio inputs. Embrace the Friction of Real Connection: True community isn't born on social media feeds. It requires stepping out of your comfort zone, inviting people into an uncleaned house, and engaging with those who don't think, look, or act exactly like you. I didn't set out to become a spiritual teacher. I was the kid with questions that wouldn't let go — why are we here, what happens when we die, is this really all there is? At eleven, I had my first spiritual awakening, which introduced me to what I call my Inner Teacher, a wise guiding presence that's been with me ever since. Those early experiences set me on a long journey across traditions and continents, including several years on a mountaintop in India with a 120-year-old enlightened master. He used laughter, provocation, and paradox to dismantle every spiritual assumption I had — and showed me that real spirituality isn't about rising above life, but stepping fully into it.What came out of all that is how I teach now: Eastern depth, Western practicality. Spirituality that holds up just as well on a Tuesday afternoon as it does on a meditation cushion.I'm not interested in quick fixes or spiritual highs. Over decades of teaching, I keep coming back to this: you already have an Inner Knowing, an intuitive wisdom that's been there all along. Most of us have just been talked out of trusting it. My work is about helping you clear what's in the way — the limiting beliefs, the mental clutter — so you can remember who you are at the deepest level.
