Rob and Riley get back on their podcast groove after a week off following the Notre Dame game. It was a busy weekend all around, as Wake basketball fell in a mild upset in it's season opener to Georgia Southern, while the football team turned a 14 point deficit at halftime against Syrcause into a record-setting performance en route to a 64-43 victory to secure bowl eligibility. Finally, the Wake Forest men's soccer team won it's second straight ACC Championship yesterday when it defeated Virginia 4-3 in PK's (0-0 in regulation). There's a lot to talk about and dissect so join us at 6:30 for an hour long episode!
Wake Forest got a huge win on Saturday against Louisville, but the costs of the win could be high, as "do-everything" WR Greg Dortch is out for the season after an abdominal tear suffered in the first half. The Demon Deacons now head to South Bend to take on top five-ranked Notre Dame on national television at 3:30. There is also the first basketball game of the season on Friday night, which is an exhibition agaginst Queens University of Charlotte, currently No. 2 ranked in Division II.
Wake Forest dropped the third game in a row and it makes this week's game against Louisville that much more important if the Demon Deacons want to go to a second straight bowl game. We will also talk a little bit of basketball since the exhibition season starts next Friday.
With the worst week of the year behind us in the dreaded bye week, Rob and Riley are back to discuss the Clemson game from last weekend and preview the Georgia Tech football game that will take place in Atlanta next Saturday. The Yellow Jackets came up just short in a heartbreaking loss to Miami yesterday and will without a doubt come in with a chip on its shoulder. Meanwhile Wake Forest is looking to get to 5-2 and get within a win of eligibility. Rob also attended the Wake Forest Basketball Fan Fest so he will note some observations there.
