For nearly three decades, Jerry Haas has been the steady hand behind one of the most consistent programs in college golf. Since taking over at Wake Forest in 1997, Haas has guided the Demon Deacons to a nation-leading 48 NCAA Championship appearances, more than 40 tournament victories, and a 2022 ACC Championship — building a program that has become a fixture on the national stage. But before he was building a dynasty on the sideline, Jerry Haas was building his own game inside one of golf's most storied families. A two-time Illinois Amateur champion, All-American at Wake Forest, and PGA Tour winner, Haas comes from a lineage that includes his brother Jay — an 18-time PGA Tour winner — and his nephew Bill Haas, a FedEx Cup champion who also happened to play for him at Wake Forest. In this episode, Jerry opens up about what it was like growing up around that kind of golf pedigree, the moment he decided to trade the Tour for the sideline, and how he's kept Wake Forest golf relevant through three decades of change — from scholarship rules to NIL to the transfer portal. We talk about what he actually looks for in a recruit beyond a swing or a scoring average and the stories — not the headlines — that he says tell you everything about what this game teaches young people. Miami is once again one of the biggest stories in college football, and this episode dives into whether "The U" is officially back. The crew debates Mario Cristobal's impact on the program and whether Miami's rise should be credited primarily to Cristobal's recruiting and culture-building or to the arrival of elite talent like Cam Ward. From rebuilding the roster to restoring Miami's national relevance, the discussion centers on how the Hurricanes have returned to the championship conversation. The conversation then shifts to new starting quarterback Darian Mensah and the controversial path that brought him from Duke to Miami. The hosts discuss Mensah's talent, his fit in Miami's offense, and why many believe he may be an upgrade at the position. They also examine the arrival of star receiver Cooper Bar-Kate and how Miami's offense could be even more explosive in 2026. On the defensive side, the crew breaks down the challenge of replacing NFL-caliber talent such as Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor while highlighting the next wave of Miami defenders ready to step into larger roles. With Jason Taylor continuing to develop elite defensive linemen and several highly regarded recruits waiting in the wings, the Hurricanes appear positioned to maintain one of the ACC's most talented defenses. Finally, the hosts analyze Miami's 2026 schedule game-by-game, debate the toughest tests on the slate, and discuss whether the Hurricanes can navigate key matchups against Clemson, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, and Florida State. The discussion concludes with predictions for Miami's season record and whether this roster has what it takes to compete for an ACC Championship, College Football Playoff berth, and potentially a national title. Is Miami truly back? The guys make their case and explain why the Hurricanes may have their best opportunity in years to reclaim college football's biggest stage. We discuss Lashley's impact on the program, how SMU has built a winning culture in Dallas, and why the Mustangs continue to outperform expectations despite often being overlooked in the Texas football landscape. The conversation begins with quarterback Kevin Jennings and his importance to SMU's success. We look back at the Mustangs' 2024 ACC Championship season and College Football Playoff appearance, evaluate Jennings' development, discuss the injuries that impacted his 2025 campaign, and examine what a healthy senior season could mean for SMU's championship aspirations. We also break down one of the ACC's most productive offenses. The discussion includes SMU's league-leading scoring offense, their efficiency in the red zone, the departure of key contributors such as running back Rashard Smith and wide receiver Roderick Daniels Jr., and how the Mustangs plan to replace that production heading into 2026. Defensively, we analyze a unit that quietly ranked among the ACC's best. We discuss the pass defense numbers, the ability to generate turnovers and sacks, and why SMU continues to win despite not receiving the same national attention as many of the traditional powers in college football. On offense, the discussion centers around quarterback Mason Heintschel and his impressive freshman campaign. Ronnie, D-Block, and JD analyze whether Heintschel can take the next step in 2026, despite concerns about an offensive line that surrendered 44 sacks last season. The crew also evaluates Pitt's rushing attack, receiver room, and overall offensive ceiling heading into the season. The conversation expands into a broader discussion about modern college football, including NIL, transfer portal rules, roster building, player development, and whether college football should move toward multi-year player contracts. The hosts debate how today's environment compares to their own playing careers and what changes could improve the sport. The crew then makes game-by-game predictions for Pitt's 2026 schedule, debating whether the Panthers will finish above or below their projected win total. The conversation starts with a fun debate about the hardest challenge in professional sports before shifting into Louisville football and the impact of Brohm's offensive philosophy, his coaching trajectory, and how programs evaluate “successful” coaching resumes in today's college football landscape. The guys break down Louisville's defense after a top-20 national finish in total defense last season, including the impact of elite edge rushers like Cleve Lubin and transfer addition Tyler Thompson from North Carolina. They also discuss Louisville's unusual co-defensive coordinator structure and whether splitting responsibilities between the front and secondary can continue producing results. Offensively, the crew evaluates Ohio State transfer quarterback Lincoln Kienholz and whether the former Buckeye can elevate the Cardinals' passing game. Ronnie highlights Louisville's backfield as potentially the best running back duo in the country with Isaac Brown and Duke Watson, while the group debates whether the offense has enough firepower at receiver after portal additions like Trey Richardson from Vanderbilt. “No clocks on the course. I had average pace and current pace on my watch, nothing else. I popped into the finishing stadium and I thought the clock said 2:09. Then two seconds later I realized it said 2:05. I was like: what is going on today?”My guest for today's episode is Vincent Mauri. You're probably wondering: Who?! Well, we'll answer that question in the next hour.On Sunday morning in Toledo, Ohio, the 24-year-old biomedical engineering graduate and shoe store employee from Youngstown ran 2:05:53 in his marathon debut. He has no agent. No sponsor. There's no half marathon results on his resume. No coach. His last tracked competitive result was a 5K at the ACC Championships in 2025 where he got lapped by Ethan Strand and Gary Martin. And the race he ran on Sunday only existed because the one he originally signed up for got canceled three days out.Vinny trained himself, entirely, averaging 110 miles a week, two big sessions, a long Sunday run and a double threshold Tuesday, a lot of work on treadmills at Planet Fitness through a brutal Ohio winter and doing almost all of it in non-super shoes. He built his training philosophy from fragments of five different college coaches, leaned heavily on weight training and fueling discipline that had broken him in college. On race day, ran a race with no clocks, no pace group, no rabbit, and no idea he was running 2:05 until the finishing stadium clock told him so. Vinny walks through the entire arc from his time at Arizona State and Notre Dame, the coaching changes, the injuries, the post-college reset at the shoe store, the training block that nobody was watching, and the race itself. We also get into the immediate aftermath with people online trying to process this in real time, him reaching out to USADA himself and what he thinks he actually needs to take this from a stunning debut to a sustainable elite career.____________Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavezGuest: Vincent Mauri | @vinny.mauriProduced by: Jasmine Fehr | @jasminefehr____________SUPPORT OUR SPONSORSXENDURANCE: When you finish a hard workout, the work isn't actually done. In this episode of Bussin’ With The Boys, Taylor Lewan and Will Compton travel to Miami, Florida! Mario Cristobal sits down with The Boys to discuss last year’s wins, next year's expectations and where the Hurricanes have seen improvement in the offseason. In the intro, Will Compton and Taylor Lewan preview the NFL Draft, They call Delanie Walker “The QB Guru” to get his take on Ty Simpson’s draft stock. Afterward, The Boys give their Clean Takes (thank you, Kevin’s Natural Foods) and say Jacob Rodriguez is the STEAL of the 2026 NFL Draft. Mario Cristobal pulled up and gave a masterclass. We got into how Miami really operates with defensive and offensive meetings, what it means to conduct elite practices, and why recruits need to see it live. He told the full Penei Sewell recruiting story and broke down how he identifies guys with the right DNA, mindset over hype. He didn’t duck anything either, from NIL and the idea that ball is still ball, to bouncing back after tough losses and the mentality inside the program when it matters most. We also hit on building Miami the right way, locking down South Florida, finding coaches that actually fit, and why he feels like he owes the program. There are gems all over this one. From the Carson Beck transfer conversation to two freshman OL already making noise, plus his longtime relationship with his OL coach going back to high school. You get Taylor Lewan stories including some wild recruiting antics, a breakdown of Reuben Bain versus Lewan, and why the short arms narrative is nonsense. He also drops his one non negotiable, early is on time, talks Cuban coffee habits, hiring philosophy, and why you will never hear him say The U is back. Stay for the roast too, Coach held his own. Send us Fan MailThe Pack had a weekend. Let's break it all down.NC State women's tennis did something special in Cary on Sunday — the 3-seed took down No. 1 Virginia to win the ACC Championship. Second title in program history. First since 2023. Tonight we talk about how they got there, what it means, and what to expect when the NCAA Tournament bracket drops. Then we shift to the Gainey rebuild. Christian Hammond. Preston Edmead. Two commits in, nine guys out, and rumors swirling around Bishop Boswell. We're breaking down exactly what Gainey has, what he still needs, and whether he can actually build a tournament-caliber roster in one portal window. And we don't let the baseball weekend off the hook. 40 runs allowed in two games at Wake Forest is not a vibe. Rett Johnson went 5-for-5 in Game 3 to save the sweep, and Ryder Garino gave us a shutdown pen outing — but the Pack heads to Virginia Tech this week and things have to be tighter. We get into it.

Greg Olsen joins the debate on analytics vs. momentum, and the crew recaps the biggest stories and games from Week 14 across the NFL.
