This is a conversation with two friends from my college fraternity about how men's groups can be a supportive force in the world - especially if they operate under a code of ethics. The first line of our mission statement is "Our goal is to build better men." We talk about our experiences in leadership positions, how we taught our members to respect women, and yes, our party experiences as well. Towards the end we talk psychedelics and have a potent discussion on American politics.Intro music by Chris Hallhttps://www.chrishall-music.com The podcast is free to listen but not free to produce! Many people know that tantra is associated with sexuality but it goes much, much deeper than that. It's a system that embraces all the aspects of who we are and helps us to awaken more deeply into our true nature. It's one of the oldest spiritual traditions on Earth and personally I find it refreshing to learn about a system that embraces sex instead of shames it and acknowledges the dark instead of rejecting it. That's why I brought in my friend Halo Seronko to tell us all about it. She has been studying tantra for many years and teaches sexual cultivation and jade egg practices to women. We had such a rich and deep conversation and this is definitely one of my favorite episodes so far.Reach Halo at:https://www.shaktitemplearts.com/andhttps://www.instagram.com/shaktitemplearts/Artwork by Android Jones The podcast is free to listen but not free to produce! Ayahuasca and the medicine path can provide tremendous opportunities for healing and growth but a person can also find themselves in harm's way if they're not careful. Today I bring you the experiences of Jesse Klein, who sat in over 100 ayahuasca ceremonies over a 3 year period. He tells of the highs and the lows, but in particular how he found himself overextended and depleted after such a focused time on the medicine path. I relate my own story as well, which is similar to Jesse's and so many other people I know. It's very easy to get caught up in the highs of ayahuasca and want to keep going faster and faster, higher and higher. We share some of the wisdom gleaned from difficult experiences and learning the hard way. I've decided to start sharing a medicine song after each episode because the music is such a beautiful and important part of these ceremonies. I speak a description and basic translation beforehand. The song at the end of this episode is Agua de Estrellas and it's performed by Diego Palma. I'd love to know what you think! She's originally from England and has been living there for the last 5 years. We talk about the differences between Eastern and Western cultures, the respectful nature and efficiency of Hong Kong (in spite of it being one of the most densely populated cities in the world), and a Brit's view on America and some of the advantages of American culture that some of us may not have considered. With prior experience in corporate finance, Natalie is a personal and professional business coach and helps people strike a sustainable balance between functionality and personal wellness.
