Full Hours from the Dave 'Softy' Mahler and Dick Fain show, which airs every day from 3pm-6:30pm on 950 KJR in Seattle.
Seattle's Sports Radio 950 KJR (KJR-AM)
The Dave 'Softy' Mahler and Dick Fain podcast is a must-listen for any Seattle sports fan. As a Duck fan living in Eastern Washington, I have appreciated the unabashed loyalty of these guys to their Dawgs, as well as their Seahawks and Mariners. They provide an entertaining and passionate look at Seattle sports, with plenty of inside jokes that only true fans will understand.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the postgame and review shows for the Husky Honks. Softy and Dick Fain do a fantastic job of breaking down the games and providing insightful analysis. Hugh Millen, a former QB for the Dawgs, is a regular guest on the show and his expertise adds another level of insight to the discussions. His knowledge of Xs and Os is impressive, and I always look forward to hearing his take on the games.
Another great aspect of this podcast is Softy's decades of experience in the Seattle sports media. He has established connections with high-profile figures in the sports world, which leads to very interesting interviews. Regular guests like Mike Holmgren and Kevin Harlan provide unique perspectives on Seattle sports, and it's always exciting to hear what they have to say.
On the downside, one criticism I have is that sometimes there can be too much focus on Seattle sports alone. While this is understandable given that it is a local podcast, it would be nice to hear more about other teams or events happening nationally or in other conferences. It would broaden the scope of discussion and appeal to a wider range of listeners.
In conclusion, The Dave 'Softy' Mahler and Dick Fain podcast is a must-listen for any Seattle sports fan. Softy's passion for Seattle sports shines through in every episode, and his chemistry with Dick Fain creates an enjoyable listening experience. Whether you're a fan of the Seahawks, Mariners, or just love sports in general with a Seattle perspective, this podcast is a great choice.
