The Washington Huskies decimated UC Davis 70-10, and the guys from Dawgman.com - Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund - broke down all the positives they saw. And there were a lot of them. To start, the Huskies got off to a hot start, scoring the five times they had the ball in the first half, amassing a 42-10 halftime edge. They were also able to get a pick from Tacario Davis and should have had another one from their other 6-4 corner, Ephesians Prysock. But there were still some sloppy penalties and execution issues that kept the Huskies from shutting down the Aggies completely. Chris and Scott talked about their favorite players of the game, starting with Jonah Coleman and his four first-half touchdowns (five overall!), as well as how rock-solid Demond Williams was with his decision-making all night long. Then they turned to the defense to talk about their difference-makers. They also went through all the true freshmen that have played so far this season. There's 10 in all, including four that made their UW debuts tonight; Chris Lawson, Champ Taulealea, Ramonz Adams, and D'Aryhian Clemons. And they also gave their final thoughts on the game and especially how it plays into how the Huskies will work during their BYE week leading into their Apple Cup game in Pullman in two weeks' time. The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - broke down their Colorado State thoughts after further review and also offered up their insights into the main things to watch tonight as the Washington Huskies square off with top-5 FCS foe, the UC Davis Aggies. They go through a thorough recap of what they saw on tape in Washington's 38-21 win over the Rams, starting with quarterback Demond Williams, then the OL, TE, WR, and finally the running backs. After a quick break they turn the tables and talk about the defense and what they hope to see in terms of area of improvement from game one to game two. And Kim asks the guys; who do they expect to be Washington's leading rusher, receiver, and tackler? Scott offers up a quick recruiting update in terms of players expected to be at Husky Stadium tonight (hint: it's mostly going to be 2027 and 2028 prospects), and they also talk about the recent hoops offer to top TE prospect Tytan McNeal from Eastside Catholic. Now having been offered by the Huskies for both football and basketball, which sport is likely going to be his best at the next level. The guys finish up the pregame podcast with their final thoughts, including the fact that the Aggies will be playing in front of a Husky Stadium crowd that will roughly be 15 times the size the one they just saw in their road win at Utah Tech. As the Washington Husky Football team prepares to take on Colorado State, Jack McCauley and Luke Mounger take the microphone to set the stage. In this edition of The Mac and Mounger Show, each share two storylines that they will be watching closely when Jedd Fisch's Dawgs take on Jay Norvel's Rams. Among the topics discussed are how Washington will balance establishing rhythm in the passing game for true sophomore Demond Williams, while still trying to find an identity on the ground against a team that has given up four-plus yards per carry in each of the past four seasons. Additionally, the two former interns pick a player on each side of the ball they anticipate will have a stand-out performance in Saturday's season opener. Furthermore, each presents three betting lines involving B1G teams and their opinion on the correct side. Teams featured in this week's Betting B1G include the Ohio State Buckeys, the Oregon Ducks, the Michigan Wolverines, and more. Finally, Jack and Luke share their confidence interval that the Huskies will take care of business in week 1. Training camp is winding down, and game week is almost here (with Week Zero kicking off Saturday!). That means it's time for a recap from the road.On the latest episode of Y-Option, presented by our founding partner 76 — keeping you on the GO GO GO so you never miss a beat — Jim Thornby and I sit down to unpack everything learned while traveling coast to coast. What stood out:* Penn State: The Nittany Lions have earned the right to be in the national title conversation. I'm a big believer in Drew Allar, as QBs need scars and every Penn State fan knows he has them. I think his maturity and work off the field will lead him to his most successful season in Happy Valley and I would bet in January he will say he played with the most joy in his young career. * Oregon: Despite losing a ton of production, their competitive depth is elite. Dante Moore (not yet named the starter) looked like one of the most impressive QBs I've seen in years. His ability to layer the ball, locate his wideouts and throw a catchable ball is as good as I've seen on the tour. * The Midwest stops: Illinois (my CFP sleeper), Wisconsin, and Iowa. Three places I'd never been to and each visit revealed growth and momentum. Walking away, my takeaway was simple: everybody has gotten better from a year ago. Another takeaway, Bret Bielema is one of the nation's most underrated head coaches. His experience as a head coach, an assistant with the Patriots & more has tangible depth to it and will only help this team if they can get through September undefeated. I think his team will be one of the biggest storylines of the season.* Back West: Our tour out West began in Eugene and then headed north to Seattle to see Jedd Fisch's team in his second year. Demond Williams, Jonah Coleman, Denzel Boston are all stars. With an improved OL this group is going to give teams fits. Add in two 6'4'' corners and UW will be a must see team this fall. We concluded in LA for some Big Ten Network crew fellowship and after watching DeShaun Foster's Bruins and Lincoln Riley's Trojans one thing is certain–the West Coast schools all look like B1G programs on the offensive and defensive lines. * Overall: the best part of the tour was time with my colleagues. Gerry DiNardo, Kyle Coughlin, Ashley Adamson and all of our Big Ten Network colleagues - it was an absolute blast and we made sure to make the most of it. And our Coach found himself with more slips than he knows what to do with!In addition, we dive into Cal naming a starting QB, Utah's opinions on public injury reports, Stanford in Week Zero and the Cougs and Beavs. Overall, this episode is a full rundown of training camp takeaways, the storylines that matter most, and what's ahead as the season kicks off.So with that, let's get after it!! The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Chris Fetters - were at the east field Wednesday to watch Day 11 of fall camp for the Washington Huskies, and it felt a lot more like the normal give and take we've seen before Tuesday's practice that was dominated by the defense. That doesn't mean the defense didn't get their licks in; they did. They were able to force a few turnovers, something that has to please new Huskies DC Ryan Walters. Kim and Chris talked about the defense getting theirs while the offense got back in the swing of things mainly through their receivers - Raiden Vines-Bright, Rashid Williams, Omari Evans, and Audric Harris chief among them. And Decker DeGraaf once again showed the world why he should be taken seriously as a deeper threat despite being a tight end. And the battle at left guard between Paki Finau and true freshman John Mills has been fully joined as both were splitting time equally with the ones and twos. And defensively, even though the shoulder pads and shorts practice was done mostly in thud tempo during the team periods, there were still some touch sacks and activity around the line of scrimmage that made life tougher for Demond Williams and Kai Horton. Ephesians Prysock, Vincent Holmes, and Makell Esteen all came up with thefts today, Esteen's taking place during an install period when he was going up against Dash Beierly and the scout team. And Alex McLaughlin continues to establish himself as a safety to be reckoned with. And special teams gets a note too, as Luke Dunne had a period where he skied some knuckle punts at Denzel Boston and Kevin Green, and the knuckle action definitely got the best of Green on at least one rep. Dirt is completely out on the Savannah Bananas...Dan Rubenstein joins the guys with thoughts on the Ducks early in Fall Camp and their prospects for the season...more pressure on Will Stein or Tosh Lupoi to perform this season...and how good is Demond Williams looking for the Huskies?
SCOTT EKLUND (Dawgman.com) joins us to give us the latest from Husky camp. - It sure feels like there's a lot of hype for Demond Williams and the success of this team relies on him to be exceptional, so is he living up to it? - The offensive line needs to step up, are they capable of it? - A look at the weapons Demond Williams will be throwing too - How is Jonah Coleman looking? - Who has stood out defensively? :30- Well, football season is here! We just had our last weekend without football for the next 6 months! Seahawks preseason gets underway on Thursday against the Raiders and we've already been told we won't see Sam Darnold much during the preseason, which means we can expect to see lots of Jalen Milroe. :45- JP walked it off for the M's on Friday and it felt like one of those moments we will look back and remember as a key moment in the season… it felt big.

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - got together after day three of fall camp to break down what they saw, and what they saw was a lot of competition. There was one-on-ones, 7-on-7, and full team competitions mixed with the normal periods where they focused on individual and special teams work. To start, the guys focus their attention on the offensive side of the ball, where Demond Williams clearly showed he's the leader of this year's attack. The running backs, led by Jonah Coleman, were also featured today in a few different scenarios, and he continues to show his improvement as a pass-catcher, as well as his extra explosiveness. They also talk about the offensive line, is there much of a competition now that the places in the two deeps have been pretty solid for most of spring and moving now into fall, and just how much improvement on the line should be expected by fans? After a quick break, the guys move to the other side of the ball. Anterio Thompson continues to rip things up on the defensive line, and there's plenty of other linemen right behind him having a strong start to fall. It's a little harder to gauge on the edges, but is this where we'll see Ryan Walters help them out via scheme? And just how much bigger has Xe'ree Alexander gotten since spring? He definitely looks bigger. And both true frosh Donovan Robinson and Zaydrius Rainey-Sale look the part for being so young. How much will they play this year? And the same could be said of another true frosh, Dylan Robinson? Is he already the heir apparent to Ephesians Prysock and Tacario Davis looking ahead to 2026? And Kim poses the question; which two true freshmen do Chris and Scott see burning their redshirts?
