Headlines and 12th man news with GREGG BELL (Tacoma News Tribune) - Ken Walker was not franchise tagged yesterday, but can the Seahawks work out a deal with the running back before free agency starts on Monday? - What moves could we expect the Seahawks to make in free agency this year? - If the Seahawks lose Rasheed Shahid, would they be looking to find another cheaper option even though they already have Tory Horton? :30- After a three-week break, two bad losses in a row, then two good wins in a row, we are still figuring this Kraken team out. But one thing that keeps getting mentioned is that the Kraken need some scoring. With the NHL trade deadline looming in two days, do the Kraken need to make a blockbuster trade? Yes, we would be willing to trade Shane Wright, but only for the right price. :45- It's time to get Reckless at breakfast We have already talked about the Seahawks possibly trading for Maxx Crosby, but now it's time to talk about it from the Raiders perspective. The raiders have an opportunity to bring in a haul for the veteran defensive star… And what about the possibility that the Raiders don't actually like Fernando Mendoza at #1? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
- We have another round of Check Yes or No as we preview NFL free agency and the possibilities for the Seahawks to improve the defense and shore up the O-Line. Would we want the Seahawks to make a splash in free agency or are we good with just re-signing as many of our free agent guys as we can and getting new deals done with JSN and Spoon? :30- PERRY HILL (Mariners infield coach) How are things going with Brendan Donovan so far and how is the transition going for him from 2nd to 3rd? What does Perry say to those who question JP's defense and think the shortstop is on the decline? How is Cole Young looking so far this spring? Josh Naylor is more than just a flashy dresser and Perry's relationship with the M's first baseman goes back a long time. Which youngster has impressed him the most so far? :45- At this stage, is it s foregone conclusion that Ken Walker is gone? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Turns out, franchise tagging is a lot like real life Tag, no one really wants to be it. The Seahawks did not use the franchise tag on Kenneth Walker and to be honest, it would have been more surprising if they had used it. The reports out now are that the Seahawks will not sign Walker ahead of free agency, so we wait and see if Walker will return or land with another team. :30- We got our first look at Team USA yesterday and yeah, they look pretty decent! The Dominican team was very fired up to be playing an exhibition game, we can't wait to see how they are when the real games begin. :45- Finally, we are done having to preview the Seahawks facing Kyler Murray and his legs twice a season. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The show opens with a major NFL shakeup as the Kansas City Chiefs trade All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams for draft capital, including the 29th overall pick, before shifting focus to the Washington Commanders and the idea that all options, including trading back from No. 7, should remain on the table. A-MAC picks Chris Russell's brain on contract restructures, void years, and how these moves can impact teams long-term. Roster and free-agent buzz dominates next, including the release of Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke and how he might fit in Washington, trade rumors surrounding Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence, and interest in signing running back Kenneth Walker, with Russell also weighing the idea of adding a veteran wide receiver. The discussion then expands league-wide, analyzing Kyler Murray entering free agency and which teams make the most sense for his talent while considering concerns about maturity, before closing with breaking news that the New England Patriots are expected to release WR Stefon Diggs after the start of the league year, sparking speculation on potential landing spots.
NBC's Matthew Berry reports that the Washington Commanders have interest in signing upcoming free agent running back Kenneth Walker, sparking conversation about how the move could reshape the offense. Chris Russell reacts by weighing the upside of adding Walker's explosiveness to the backfield while also questioning whether investing in another veteran running back is the best use of resources. From there, he broadens the discussion to roster construction, suggesting that if the Commanders are going to add veteran help, wide receiver may be a more impactful position to target, one that could better complement the offense and address lingering needs heading into the season.
Garret Price and Andrew Mott shift from Combine takeaways into the real domino period: NFL free agency. The focus is how quickly dynasty value can swing based on tags, cap space, and surprise landing spots. The quarterback section starts with Daniel Jones as the cleanest call to return. From there, they frame Kirk Cousins as more of a bridge or depth option than a true long-term starter, with potential fits depending on how a team wants to handle the next rookie class. The most discussed “swing” outcome is Malik Willis. They see logical scenarios where he lands in a spot that gives him a chance to start sooner rather than later, but they also push back on the idea that he becomes a franchise saver. The upside is real for fantasy. The long-term NFL outlook is still more uncertain. At running back, they spend time on the tension around Breece Hall, with the tag scenario creating downside risk for both fantasy managers and the player's perceived freedom. Kenneth Walker is treated as more likely to stay put, but with enough uncertainty that it is worth tracking closely through the deadline. From there, the conversation turns to possible landing spots and role fits. Travis Etienne is one of the biggest pieces on the board if he changes teams. Rachaad White gets framed as a committee and depth type of option rather than a clear starter. Rico Dowdle, Tyler Allgeier, and JK Dobbins round out the “next tier” of backs who could become important depending on how a backfield is built and how much money a team is willing to spend. On the wide receiver side, they start with Alec Pierce as a clean field-stretcher fit for multiple teams. Mike Evans is the headliner name if the longtime situation finally changes, with a clear expectation that any move would be tied to chasing a title. They also run through veteran and role-based fits, including Wan'Dale Robinson, Romeo Doubs, Jauan Jennings, and Christian Kirk, with the key point being that teams with cap space and obvious needs can reshape the entire room quickly. They close the receiver discussion with Deebo Samuel and Rashid Shaheed, focusing on how either player could change an offense's geometry depending on usage and price. At tight end, they highlight David Njoku as the kind of addition that can immediately upgrade an offense that needs a true middle-of-the-field presence. Isaiah Likely is treated as a talented option whose market may not be as hot as fantasy managers expect. Cade Otton is discussed as a solid, reliable tight end piece who can fit multiple teams without needing to be the entire passing game. Evan and Tiki react to rumors the Giants have interest in Kenneth Walker and drafting Jeremiah Love at No. 5 is real strategy or total smoke. Tiki explains why judging John Harbaugh's entire plan off one roster rumor is shortsighted, while Evan argues Giants fans might be trapped in Saquon PTSD and need to see the bigger picture. Then the show turns to the Jets and the QB debate, before breaking news drops: the Jets place the franchise tag on Breece Hall, locking him in for 2026 while extension talks continue. Plus: Posted & Toasted returns, the guys weigh in on the criticism of Aaron Judge's Team USA WBC speech, and they tease a Paul Skenes comment that is about to rub a lot of people the wrong way, along with a Knicks stat that shows how different this year's team is.
The Jets reportedly franchise tag Breece Hall, and the guys break down why New York chose the franchise tag over the transition tag, what it means for a long-term extension, and why they're convinced Breece will play. Then the conversation shifts to the World Baseball Classic, where Paul Skenes' “close second to military service” quote sparks a heated debate about tone, timing, and representing your country. They compare Skenes to Tarik Skubal's one-start plan and why fans hate the “mercenary” vibe, plus a caller currently in the military weighs in. Later, it's rapid-fire breaking news: a PED suspension report involving Jurickson Profar, and a stunner from the NFL world as the Seahawks are not expected to tag Kenneth Walker, potentially impacting the Giants' plans. The hour also features a spirited Giants discussion (including the “LOL Giants” argument), a wild trip into the WFAN archives with old Lakers-Rockets Game 7 stringer updates, and a Mets first base debate that has Brett Baty emerging as the surprising innings leader. Plus: East Coast vs West Coast fan culture, Dodger Stadium horror stories, and plenty of classic Evan and Tiki chaos along the way.
Evan and Tiki break down the growing buzz around the Giants potentially upgrading the running back room, including interest in Kenneth Walker and the possibility of drafting Jeremiah Love at No. 5. Is this a real shift in philosophy under John Harbaugh, or just classic pre-draft smoke? Tiki pushes for patience and perspective, arguing fans cannot judge the entire hire off one rumor, while Evan wonders if Giants Nation is still reacting emotionally from the Saquon era. They debate Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy, roster construction, and why taking a running back might actually make more sense than people want to admit.

In hour 4 of The Drive, Zach and Phil continue their conversation on Mike Evans' criticism of Gabe Landeskog and his underachieving this season. We pivot to the Broncos as NFL free agency kicks off in less than a week. We look at the running back market as David Montgomery was traded this week, Breece Hall was franchise tagged by the Jets, and Kenneth Walker not getting tagged by the Seahawks. We hear from Mike Klis and his thoughts on the Broncos wanting JK Dobbins back in 2026. Would Dobbins be willing to take a backseat in the Broncos running back room? Could Ben Powers be a cut or trade candidate as he heads into the last year of his contract? We react to Rockies' Paul Depodesta's comments on why Schaffer was the right hire for their manager and raising the floor of the team by bringing in veterans. We wrap up the show with DenverSports.com's Will Petersen joining the show to discuss Mike Evans' criticism of Gabe Landeskog this season.
In hour 2 of The Drive, Zach and Phil continue their conversation on Mike Evans calling out Gabe Landeskog for underachieving. Is it fair to call Landeskog underachieving after a slow start and missing so much time this season? We pivot the Broncos and look at the running back market as David Montgomery was traded this week, Breece Hall was franchise tagged by the Jets, and Kenneth Walker not getting tagged by the Seahawks. Will the Broncos be big spenders at running back, paying someone $8 million or more per year? Today's "Three Count" includes Brennan Marion's comments on the Buffs after their first practice after the death of Dominiq Ponder, Rob Walton reportedly buying a 10% stake in the Diamondbacks 2 years ago, and the Colts placing a transition tag on Daniel Jones. We react to Rockies' Paul Depodesta's comments on why Schaffer was the right hire for their manager and raising the floor of the team by bringing in veterans.
Anthony reacts to the rumors that the Giants are interested in signing Kenneth Walker amidst breaking news that the Seattle Seahawks have declined to franchise tag their Super Bowl MVP. Is Walker the "home run" threat the Giants need for Jaxson Dart, or is spending $12M+ on a running back a mistake Joe Schoen can't afford to make? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Evan & Tiki react to the Giants suddenly going from “boring offseason” to full chaos mode, with rumblings about taking a running back at No. 5 and even chatter linking them to Kenneth Walker. The guys debate whether it's all a distraction play or a real shift under John Harbaugh, and what “shocking” roster moves could actually be on the table, from big-name trades to a total culture reset. Then it turns into a full-blown argument over the viral Aaron Glenn combine clip, with Tiki defending him and Evan refusing to let the Jets get piled on for something he says never happened. Plus: calls on Kayvon trade talk, draft priorities, Breece Hall contract anxiety, and a quick spin through the Knicks statement win and the Islanders rookie breakout that has New York sports fans buzzing.
What was supposed to be a quiet Giants offseason is suddenly anything but. Evan & Tiki dive into shocking chatter that Big Blue could take a running back at No. 5, explore the surprising Kenneth Walker rumors, and debate whether John Harbaugh is preparing to take a full wrecking ball to the roster. Is this strategic misdirection… or a true franchise reset after a four-win season? The guys also discuss injury concerns in the current backfield, how free agency could shape draft decisions, and why this team might look completely different in a matter of weeks. If the Giants really are about to reshape everything, what would actually count as “shocking” for fans?

Our Seattle Seahawks are kicking off free agency with five starters and two more key players potentially hitting the open market in two weeks at the start of the new league year. We run through some of the challenges general manager John Schneider faces with keeping each player and take a look at some of the projected salaries by The Athletic and Pro Football Focus. Kenneth Walker may have the biggest gap between how Seahawks fans would value him vs how he may be valued by another team, but a close second could be Boye Mafe. Mafe is considered one of the top 5 edge rushers in free agency, but his play time was limited in 2025 due to the play of Demarcus Lawrence and Uchenna Nwosu and Derick Hall. The amount of potential turnover in the secondary area of concern. Tariq Woolen, Josh Jobe and Coby Bryant are all expected to see contracts upward of $10 million per year and closer to $20 million per year in the case of Woolen. Is that the best use of salary cap dollars to try and keep all three? How would we prioritize? We take a look at the exclusive rights free agents and what that designation means as well as the restricted free agents and the one starter who stands out. In the second half of the show, we talk about potential rule changes (and the lack of rule changes) that are being discussed in Indianapolis. We could see a greater emphasis placed on officiating from the booth than on the field for certain calls. We call out the Los Angeles Rams and Augusta National on news that came out this week about both. Mitch checks in from Mariners spring training in Peoria, describing a genuine World Series vibe around the pitching staff — before admitting he needed a personal "attitude adjustment" on 22-year-old second baseman Cole Young. Mitch welcomes back Danny O'Neil, Jason Puckett, and Dave "Groz" Grosby for the 2026 Prediction Show, teasing last year's misses while crowning Puckett as the new champ. The panel makes rapid-fire forecasts on the Seahawks' 2026 season: record, playoff finish, key contract calls (Kenneth Walker, Riq Woolen, Josh Jobe, Rashid Shaheed), draft/free-agent priorities, Sam Darnold's contract future and stat lines, plus big-number projections for JSN and other core pieces. The panel shifts to college football, with Danny projecting a 12-win Washington season and a College Football Playoff berth—while also predicting major turnover with Jed Fisch and Demond Williams gone by 2027. They then pivot to baseball, where Puck and Groz forecast an AL West title and a Mariners trip to the World Series, while Danny takes the contrarian path with 88 wins and no playoffs. The panel finishes Mariners predictions with bold calls on Colt Emerson's debut date, Andrés Muñoz's save total, and the club's World Series outlook—while Danny pegs the Yankees as champions. The conversation widens to NBA expansion in Seattle, where opinions split on timeline and ownership possibilities, and then to the 2026 World Cup, with wildly different forecasts for Team USA. The segment wraps with NBA championship picks, MVP projections, and LeBron James' uncertain future as the Prediction Show heads toward its finale. The panel turns to March Madness, NFL draft projections, and bold NFL quarterback predictions before branching into golf, tennis, the World Baseball Classic, and the Kraken's playoff outlook. Danny calls for Houston to win the NCAA title, Puck backs Arizona, and Groz picks UConn—while wild swings follow on Scheffler majors, Rory's chances, and LeBron's future. The segment culminates with dramatic wild-card predictions, including a potential MLB lockout, a Jamal Crawford-led Sonics return, and a blockbuster Seahawks in-season trade.
