RUNDOWN Mitch solves last week's "mafia lookalike" mystery — listeners decide he's a dead ringer for The Sopranos' Michael Imperioli. The guys riff through Goodfellas lore, Seahawks' second straight blowout win, and Von Miller's hilarious regret about choosing Washington over Seattle ("it's like turning down a girl who became a movie star"). Heartfelt condolences to the family of Lenny Wilkens, celebrating the Hall of Famer's legacy as both player and coach — and his decades as the Pacific Northwest's ultimate basketball statesman. Then it's back to football as the guys revel in another stress-free Seahawks blowout, highlighted by two identical sack-fumble touchdowns from Tyrese Knight and DeMarcus Lawrence. Mitch welcomes back Brady Henderson and Jacson Bevens for another Seahawks No-Table after a 44-22 dismantling of the Cardinals. The crew marvels at a team that suddenly looks like a legitimate Super Bowl contender, while debating the sloppy second half and the emerging run-game breakthrough. They dig into injury updates on Ernest Jones, and Jarran Reed, the trade for Rashid Shaheed, and the defense's uncanny "next-man-up" magic under Mike Macdonald. Mitch reconnects with Rick Neuheisel, presented by Taco Time Northwest, to unpack a wild week in college football — starting with Washington's shocking collapse in Madison. Rick calls it a "disaster," offers perspective on Jed Fisch's road woes, and shares how leadership, not logistics, separates winners from whiners. From there, the conversation races across the national landscape: Penn State's heartbreak at Happy Valley, Texas Tech's oil-fueled rise, and which Group of Five team might crash the playoff. Then Neuheisel dives into Lincoln Riley's number-swap trickery — calling it "legal but unethical" — before handing out Taco Time honors. Mitch reconvenes the Seattle Kraken No-Table with RJ Eskanos and Dylan Travers of Emerald City Hockey for the team's first check-in of the season. Despite a solid early record and a near-top Pacific Division standing, the panel wonders how sustainable it really is. RJ notes that the offense remains among the league's weakest, while Dylan credits new head coach Lane Lambert for installing a defense-first system that maximizes effort and structure. The Seahawks are like a tidal wave as they have overwhelmed teams each of the last three games, so Brock and Salk what has caused this stretch of success. They also look into the strides that Mike Macdonald has taken as a motiavtor, specifically citing Tyrice Knight and Riq Woolen as two guys who lost their starting roles and have stepped up in a big way over the lact couple weeks. They credit Macdonald for a good portion of that. In Blue 88, topics include why the Seahawks will be the undoing of Jonathan Gannon, the Seahawk that was most targeted in trade talks and what happened to UW against Wisconsin on Saturday.
Headlines and 12th man news with GREGG BELL (Tacoma News Tribune) Gregg shares his thoughts on the passing of Lenny Wilkens. The Seahawks 1st half was total domination yesterday. What did we see from this defense yesterday? It was run-heavy for the offense, but there were some sloppy moments for Sam Darnold and the offense. Injury updates and more! :30- The Dawgs blew it in Madison. The weather was awful, but UW can't blame it for the loss. They were incapable of getting anything going and gave the Badgers their first conference win. :35- We had an awful week in fact or fiction, but luckily Chuck is the only one who got a pick right last week and he's starting us off this morning! :45- We have missed hearing from Mike MacDonald!
The Seahawks dominate again! Send us a textThe calendar flips to November and the vibes split: family milestones and Marine pride on one side, then a blunt Falcons reckoning on the other. We lay out why Atlanta's defense is doing enough, why the offense isn't, and how “take the points” is more than a motto—it's the difference between winning and wasting solid game scripts. From playcalling that doesn't create layups to a rookie QB who needs a coordinator with real reps, we make the case for building an identity that travels and a sideline standard that doesn't flinch in the red zone.We widen the lens to the coaching tree Atlanta didn't climb—names like Mike Macdonald, Jim Harbaugh, and Ben Johnson—and talk about what a serious reset would require if ownership fires Raheem. Then we break down the Cowboys' roster calculus, why interior pressure can be smarter currency than edge stardom, and how good front offices use in-season trades to write their offseason plan with real data. The conversation pivots to the NBA's soul: Ja Morant, a Euro-leaning coaching trend, and a league sliding into five-out sameness that blunts star power. We argue for letting elite players dictate pressure, playing real minutes when it matters, and rebuilding a TV product that feels urgent instead of generic. Finally, we hit college football's ranking optics, brand gravity, and the buyout arms race, making a case for shorter initial contracts and smarter schedule standards.Stick around for our weekly picks across college and the NFL, plus a few spicy predictions that could swing your weekend. This Seahawks team, for as good as they are, are very different from the Legion of Boom regime. And Salk very much believes in that, so he discusses. Later, they re-air their conversation with Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald after the team's dominating win over the Commanders.
Brock stirred up a question to Salk last night about the idea of the Seahawks trading for Myles Garrett, so they talk through it (and Salk doesn't love the answer). They also discuss just how real the Seahawks are now starting to feel and react to some national sound of people backing the Seahawks up. In Blue 88, Brock dives in on some Demarcus Lawrence comments on Mike Macdonald and the most outrageous Seahawks stat through eight games.
Bob and Dave hear what Seahawks Head Coach Mike Macdonald had to say about their blowout win, the latest on Ernest Jones’ injury, and the impressive performance from the defense last night, they bring you the biggest stories around the NFL, including one of the first trade deadline moves, they revisit their predictions for the game in Call It Now, and they wrap up the show by finding out what we learned today!

Mike Macdonald joins Brock and Salk to discuss why he was so happy with his team's performance in last night's win, what complementary football means to him, whether he can feel a freedom as a playcaller with how many blitzing options are available to him, what DeMarcus Lawrence brings to the team, if the numbers being out out there for Grey Zabel support what he sees, how the Bucs loss helped them and how Brandon Pili ended up on kickoff coverage.
RUNDOWN Is Mitch secretly a MOBSTER? The guys ride the high of a Seahawks blowout while fretting an Earnest Jones IV injury and torching D.C.'s awful turf, then rip through birthday/lore nuggets. An unforgettable World Series finish, seen through a Seattle lens—taking petty joy in Toronto's collapse while admitting Game 7 (and the under-discussed, error-filled Game 6) will haunt Mariners fans for years. Then it's all Seahawks: a near-perfect beatdown in D.C., vintage throwback uniforms, and why John Schneider should chase help at WR/OL/LB before the deadline. Mitch, Brady, and Jacson break down Seattle's 38–14 primetime rout of Washington — a game where both sides of the ball finally clicked. They discuss Sam Darnold's near-perfect night (one of only four 97+ QBRs in the NFL this season — three belonging to him), Mike Macdonald's astounding 11–1 road record, and the play-calling brilliance driving the offense. Rick Neuheisel joins Mitch to break down a wild week in college football — from the bloated buyouts fueling a $160 million coaching carousel to Washington's unlikely playoff path. The two dive into quarterback drama, "alma mater alimony," and the rise of dual-threat sensation Demond Williams, before wrapping with Taco Time's weekly honors — including a nod to Oklahoma's kicker and his unforgettable Daisy Duke game-day look. Christian Caple joins Mitch to assess the Huskies' 6–2 season and the playoff math that could still put Washington in the 12-team field if they run the table. He breaks down the defense's ability to hang with Oregon, the tricky stretch at UCLA, and how Jed Fish's success could make him a hot-commodity coach with a star quarterback in tow. Mike Macdonald had far more confidence in his team than anyone else entering the 2025 NFL season, and now that confidence is paying off and reigning true, so Brock and Salk talk through it. They then dissect Game 7 of the World Series in which was one of the best baseball games we've ever watched, with the Seahawks emerging victorious to win back-to-back World Series. In Blue 88, topics include what people reached out to Brock about regarding the Seahawks, a major pivot the Seahawks made that hasn't gotten as much buzz and why are the Huskies finally ranked.
Salk likes that this team is different than the LOB era team. They have their own identity and style. Then, we discuss Greg Olsen's post about the Seahawks not being a good rushing team and instead looking like a heavy personnel passing team. Plus, we break down the Dodgers World Series win, the Seahawks dominant night in D.C., and the Kraken taking on the Blackhawks tonight. *The Mike Macdonald interview can be found on the Mike Macdonald Show podcast page
The Seattle Seahawks cruised to a 38-14 victory over the Washington Commanders in front of a national audience on Sunday night. The gruesome injury late in the game to Jayden Daniels soured the win and we hope Ernest Jones and Josh Jobe come out of the game ok for our Seahawks. Sam Darnold was on point for Seattle and Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued to dominate, supported by a well-balanced offense orchestrated by Klint Kubiak. The defense stifled Washington's offense and controlled the game from start to finish. Mike Macdonald made the right call on defense with Devon Witherspoon and Josh Jobe getting the start and Nick Emmanwori demonstrating why he should never be on the bench. Without Cooper Kupp on the field, Tory Horton hauled in a couple touchdowns to make his case for future WR2 on the team and Cody White jumped up from the practice squad to add a long touchdown of his own. Join us as we gear up for the Seahawks Sunday Night Football matchup against the Washington Commanders! How will the loss of Julian Love to injured reserve impact on the Seahawks defense and how will Mike Macdonald manage the return of Devon Witherspoon? With the Commanders recent struggles, Washington will be desperate for a win against a Seahawks team that has dominated on the road. The Commanders offense gets Jayden Daniels back, but they may not have the downfield offense to be able to attack the Seahawks defense. With the trade deadline approaching, could that impact how Seattle handles the playtime for Tariq Woolen on Sunday? Cooper Kupp, if he plays, may be limited against the Commanders, but that could prove beneficial in going heavy with tight-end heavy formations and Robbie Ouzts returning.
