Human Trafficking Initiative Talk with Patrick Erlandson, Creative Director, of See it End It Film & Arts Festival, Yolanda Oreb and Sonya Bailey Executive Director of the YWCA. Human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry (behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking). It reportedly generates a profit of $32 billion every year. Of that number, $15.5 billion is made in industrialized countries. California harbors three of the FBI’s 13 highest child sex trafficking areas in the nation: Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. Part of our mission at the YWCA is to empower. Through our Racial Justice program we’re committed in the fight against human trafficking, exploitation and modern-day slavery. Over the past two years we have drawn from many local organizations and programs to bring empowerment to members of the community. We seek to arm our local youths and parents with knowledge and interactive educational programming to enable them to make smart choices. For potential victims and survivors of human trafficking, we seek to provide help and resources available to them. Please join our fight to change lives and bring an end to these despicable crimes.
