The Department of Homeland Security says they have received intelligence on an Iranian plot to assassinate former President Trump. Trump has been a target of Tehran since the killing of Iranian military leader Qasem Soleimani in January 2020. The Iranian plot is not said to have any connection to the attempted assassination over the weekend but the concerns over outdoor campaign events have increased exponentially.
