In this week's episode, we celebrate some of the many ways our K-12 students engaged in conversations and learning during Black History Month under the theme of the “Everyday Experience”. Led by the students in our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, as well as the efforts of our many classroom teachers, our school community has once again benefitted from the collective efforts of so many caring and considerate leaders.

In Part Three of a three part series on Community Care, we sit down with one of our Connections partners for the month of January, Inn From the Cold, to explore how they have expanded their services during the pandemic. We discuss how they continue to work with people in a respectful, dignified, non-judgmental manner while providing them with a safe and positive environment. In the same episode, our Media and PR Prefect, Jeslyn interviews two HTS students who reflect on how their participation in the Coldest Night of the Year Walk raised money to help people in York Region who are experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

The Grade 10’s were engaged in the nation’s capital exploring community engagement through political and military service. The Grade 11s focused on developing their leadership skills either in theory or in practice. The 12s worked together as a grade exploring their individual values and the vision they have for themselves as they look to the future beyond HTS.
