The Washington Huskies earned their bye week after an impressive home win against the Illinois Fighting Illini a couple of weeks ago. Now, Jedd Fisch's squad is headed to Wisconsin to take on Luke Fickell's Badgers in Camp Randall. Winless in conference play, the Badgers are double-digit underdogs to The Dawgs, who are looking to keep their playoff dream alive. Jack and Luke get together to look back at Washington's marquee win of the 2025 campaign to date, before turning their attention to this weekend. The two former interns, as always, forecast their Bets to Bark, pick three B1G bets they like this weekend, and share their confidence interval that the Huskies will fly home with their seventh win Saturday night. Welcome to episode #1008 of Thinking With Mitch Joel (formerly Six Pixels of Separation). What if artificial intelligence didn't just build faster startups... but redefined what it means to be an entrepreneur? Henrik Werdelin has been exploring that question for years. As the co-founder of Bark (the company behind BarkBox and the new Bark Air) and Prehype (the startup studio that helped launch ventures like AndCo, Ro, and ManagedByQ), Henrik (who also has a great podcast called, Beyond The Prompt) has spent his career creating businesses that live at the intersection of creativity, community and technology. Now, with his new book Me, My Customer And AI, he's rethinking entrepreneurship for a world where anyone can start a business, but few will build one that truly matters. In this conversation, we explore how AI is changing human behavior, the paradox of accessibility and saturation, and why "interestingness" may be the new metric of success. Henrik explains why the future of entrepreneurship isn't about scale, it's about intimacy, authenticity and knowing your customer better than anyone else. We also discuss his latest venture, Audos, a platform designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs build companies using AI agents, and how this movement could usher in a new "neighborhood economy" where small, deeply connected businesses thrive. From reflections on the early internet to insights about the next wave of AI-driven startups, Henrik's ideas are both practical and profoundly human, reminding us that even in an algorithmic age, it's our relationships, our curiosity and our resilience that will define what's next. It's "Warrior Wednesday" on The Other Side of Midnight with Lionel, featuring Lynn Shaw of Lynn's Warriors, a national movement dedicated to protecting children and families from exploitation, trafficking, and dangers hiding online. Join the discussion where there is only right and wrong, because awareness without action is surrender. This episode tackles the fight against transnational criminal organizations, specifically human trafficking networks fueled by cartels and open borders. Lynn Shaw applauds President Trump's administration for addressing sex and labor trafficking more than all presidents combined. The core issue? The runaway train of Artificial Intelligence. We break down the bipartisan effort behind the crucial GUARD Act, which seeks to ban harmful AI chatbots for minors—digital "friends" that are harming children. Also discussed are the horrors of sextortion, targeted particularly at teenage boys who are embarrassed into silence, and the dangerous algorithms Big Tech programs to streamline sexual content right into your kids' devices. Discover practical, free resources like Bark and Gabb technology for safe digital boundaries. Finally, learn why Big Tech is spending over $100 million lobbying against accountability, and how community action and even simple boredom can save the next generation. Dr Rebecca Marks jokes that we shouldn't listen to what critics and art historians say, but some of her unique takes in this interview, have been rattling around my brain since our discussion. Rebecca is an art historian, writer, and social media creator which is an interesting and pretty unique Ven diagram. In this episode we discussed some big topics, like the purpose of art and the ‘starving artist' cliche. If you're a long-time listener, you'll know I'm always struggling with the tension of making art for yourself vs making it for an audience. My biggest take away from talking to Rebecca was her opinion that when an artist expresses their individual experience, it becomes an “expression of universal experience” that can resonate with a huge number of people.I hope you enjoy this one :) To hear more, visit creativerebels.substack.com

The Dad Edge Podcast (formerly The Good Dad Project Podcast)
In this episode, I'm joined by my good friend Coach Frank Rich for one of the most eye-opening and urgent conversations we've ever had on this show. We dig deep into the disturbing ways artificial intelligence is now intersecting with the porn industry—from deepfake technology to fully AI-generated adult content. It's not just impacting adults anymore—this tech is trickling into high schools, being used to bully, humiliate, and emotionally destroy kids. This is a conversation every father, husband, and leader needs to hear. Frank and I explore how AI porn is evolving faster than laws can keep up, how it's rewiring minds, damaging marriages, and becoming a hidden epidemic in homes across the world. But it's not all doom and gloom—we also share stories of transformation, tools to protect your family, and how to have honest, shame-free conversations with your kids about sex, technology, and identity. If you care about protecting your family in the digital age, this one is a must-listen. Episode Highlights & Timeline: [0:00] – Introduction [2:18] – AI's alarming infiltration into the porn industry—from deepfakes to AI-generated performers [4:01] – My raw reaction: learning about deepfake porn for the first time [6:10] – Is AI porn found on mainstream sites like Pornhub? Frank breaks it down [8:45] – Why the porn industry has always driven tech innovation [9:36] – Men monetizing themselves with deepfakes—how that's happening [12:25] – High schoolers using AI to create and share fake nude images of classmates [14:00] – Why I use Bark to monitor my kids' devices—and how it's changed our conversations [17:00] – AI is evolving faster than the laws designed to regulate it [22:28] – How I talk to my sons about sex, porn, and masturbation—with honesty and no shame [30:20] – The sobering reality of porn-induced erectile dysfunction in young men [33:00] – Modeling healthy marriage and intimacy for your kids [41:24] – A redemption story: how David saved his marriage and reclaimed his life [49:14] – The hidden cost of porn: time, presence, and connection [51:18] – Watching a little boy get ignored by his phone-distracted dad—and the mirror it held up for me [53:47] – Final thoughts: let's stay alert, have the hard conversations, and lead with love 5 Key Takeaways: 1. AI-generated porn is dangerously realistic—and widely accessible. What once sounded like sci-fi is now mainstream and emotionally devastating. 2. Teens are weaponizing deepfake technology. Fake nudes created via AI are being used for bullying, revenge, and harassment in schools. 3. Don't wait to talk to your kids. The average age of first exposure to porn is 8–11. Have the talk early, openly, and without shame. 4. Porn addiction steals your presence—and your purpose. Whether it's five minutes or five hours, it erodes your integrity and disconnects you from what matters most. 5. Redemption is real. Frank's programs have helped countless men rebuild their lives, their faith, their marriages, and their connection to their kids. Kids spend more time online than ever, and for the most part it feels normal. They're gaming, watching videos, and chatting with friends. But hidden in those same spaces are adults who know how to pose as kids, build trust, and push conversations into dangerous territory. Parents might think it couldn't happen to their child, yet detectives see how quickly an “innocent” interaction can turn into grooming or extortion. That's the world Detective Seth Cockerham works in every day. He's been in law enforcement in Texas for close to a decade, and the last few years have been dedicated to investigating crimes against children. He talks about these cases with both the eye of an investigator and the heart of a parent, because he knows what it's like to raise kids in a world where technology isn't going away. Seth explains how predators move kids off kid-friendly apps into spaces parents can't easily monitor, what behaviors should make families pay attention, and why kids often keep things to themselves. He also shares what has worked in his own home like parental control tools, early conversations about boundaries, and making sure his daughters know they can come to him about anything. At the end of the day, his message is simple: if your child says something feels wrong, take it seriously. Show Notes: [01:07] Seth explains his path into law enforcement and how he moved into child crime investigations. [02:24] Why drowning and neglect cases motivated him to take a deeper role in protecting kids. [04:05] The personal impact of working child abuse cases and balancing it as a parent. [05:30] How predators go where kids are online, from YouTube to gaming platforms with chat features. [07:00] Grooming tactics predators use, often pretending to be the same age to build trust. [07:40] Grooming can escalate in hours or take weeks, with predators moving kids to apps like Snapchat. [10:39] AI filters sometimes detect inappropriate content, but predators still find ways around it. [11:52] Behavioral changes are often the first signs kids are being exploited or manipulated online. [14:10] Why some kids go to police instead of parents and how Seth builds trust with families. [16:47] Most child abuse cases involve someone the child already knows; online cases are often strangers. [18:20] International predators make prosecutions harder, especially in sextortion cases. [21:08] Managing families' expectations when investigations take longer than TV shows portray. [23:55] Fastest time Seth has moved from a report to an arrest in an online case. [24:14] Common traits of perpetrators, often highly tech-savvy with strong knowledge of systems. [26:46] The parental control tools Seth uses at home, including the Bark phone for his kids. [29:30] How to reset boundaries with older kids and use resources like NetSmartz for education. [32:37] Seth's advice to kids: never send selfies to strangers, don't believe threats, tell a trusted adult. [33:39] His warning about sextortion: paying money never works, it only leads to more demands. [36:20] Resources for victims include counseling through advocacy centers and photo removal tools. [37:20] Seth's key takeaway: listen to your kids and take their concerns seriously. Thanks for joining us on Easy Prey. Be sure to subscribe to our podcast on iTunes and leave a nice review. PREVIEW: Vladimir Putin Threatens Escalation Over Tomahawk Missiles to Ukraine; Response Likely More Bark Than Bite GUEST NAME: John Hardie (Foundation for Defense of Democracies) 100-WORD SUMMARY: John Batchelor and John Hardie discuss Vladimir Putin's threats of escalation if allies provide Tomahawk missiles and other tools of war to Ukraine. Hardie suggests that Russia has been "more bark than bite" throughout the conflict and is extremely unlikely to resort to tactical nuclear use. Putin's response might be asymmetrical, perhaps strengthening air defense or stepping up "gray zone actions" in Europe, or supporting the Houthis. Direct military retaliation against a NATO member is improbable because Putin recognizes he would lose such a war.

The death of Randy Rhoads during the tour for Diary of a Madman was a severe blow to Ozzy Osbourne, especially after the success of that album. Jack Blades replaced Rhoads on guitar for the live recording, Speak of the Devil, but it was Jake E. Lee that was brought in to be a permanent part of Ozzy's band for Bark at the Moon. However, behind the scenes, there was always Sharon, making sure her husband got all the credit and the band that did the heavy lifting got shafted. Despite this, the album still manage to do well and added a pop sheen to Ozzy's image. Jedd Fisch's Washington Huskies suffered their first loss of the 2025 season against the Ohio State Buckeyes last week. Now, the Dawgs look ahead to their first road conference game of the year against the Maryland Terrapins. Jack and Luke do the same! The former interns assign letter grades to Washington's performance against Ryan Day's defending national champions. Believe it or not, the duo was in relative unison. Afterwards, Jack and Luke identify two storylines each that intrigue them about the upcoming matchup between the Dawgs and the Terps. A couple of the threads identify include Maryland's struggles on the ground this year and Washington's failure to win a road conference game under the current regime. Then, they each pick their Bets to Bark for the upcoming game - highlighting a player from each side of the ball they believe will have a strong performance on Saturday. Next, they move to their Betting B1G segment. Despite being wrong on all three of his picks last week, Luke still have a five-point lead on Jack. Some of the games picked include Penn State @ UCLA, Michigan State @ Nebraska, and Wisconsin @ Michigan. Too many companies see AI only as a cost-cutting shortcut, rolling out rushed AI deployments that frustrate customers. But the real opportunity lies in everyday AI: using it to handle what humans don't do well, so people can focus on what they do best—building authentic customer relationships. This week on The Modern Customer Podcast, Henrik Werdelin, founder of BARK, Prehype, Audos, and co-author of Me, My Customer, and AI, shares how everyday AI can transform CX. Highlights from the podcast: ➡️ AI Beyond Efficiency — Instead of just automating tasks, AI expands human capability and frees teams to focus on authentic customer connections. ➡️ Listening at Scale — AI makes it possible to instantly analyze thousands of customer comments, delivering insights that go far deeper than NPS scores. ➡️ Strengthening Relationship Capital — With AI, brands can build customer loyalty through three layers: depth (feeling seen), density (community), and durability (long-term trust). ➡️ Empowering Everyday Entrepreneurs — AI lowers barriers to entry, enabling more people to create businesses that solve real customer problems and build lasting relationships.

The Dad Edge Podcast (formerly The Good Dad Project Podcast)
In this solo episode of the Dad Edge Podcast, I dive into one of the greatest challenges facing parents today: raising kids in the digital age. Between iPhones, TikTok, YouTube, and even AI tools like ChatGPT, technology is moving at lightning speed—and as fathers, we can't afford to bury our heads in the sand. I share three powerful strategies that will help you set the right boundaries for your kids without putting them in “tech prison.” From creating guardrails with apps like Bark, to implementing a family tech contract, to modeling discipline with our own devices, this episode is about protecting our kids while also preparing them to navigate the digital world with responsibility and confidence. TIMELINE SUMMARY [0:00] - Welcome to the Dad Edge movement and today's focus on raising kids in the digital age [1:02] - Why technology is moving faster than parents can keep up [2:11] - Why this generation is the first to face AI, smartphones, and social media all at once [3:08] - Introducing Dad Edge Alliance and Boardroom Brotherhood for fathers [4:00] - Strategy #1: Set guardrails, not walls, around tech use [4:58] - The rookie mistake of limiting apps without realizing kids just switch platforms [6:12] - Workarounds kids use to bypass phone restrictions [7:05] - Why apps like Bark provide a real solution for parents [7:25] - Strategy #2: Create a family tech contract with clear boundaries and accountability [8:42] - Examples of contracts around bedtime, screen-free zones, and check-ins [8:59] - Strategy #3: Model discipline by living the same tech rules as your kids [9:56] - Why hypocrisy in tech rules undermines your authority [11:14] - Setting boundaries with work and modeling digital discipline at home [12:22] - The Bark app, Bark phone, and Bark watch explained [14:05] - Why I don't allow TikTok or YouTube for my younger kids [14:54] - The Bark watch for younger kids as a safe, affordable option [15:31] - Final recap of the three strategies for digital parenting [16:13] - Closing encouragement and link to resources 5 KEY TAKEAWAYS 1. Guardrails Beat Walls Complete restriction creates rebellion. Guardrails, not tech prisons, teach kids to manage technology responsibly while keeping them safe. 2. Apps Aren't Foolproof Kids can and will find workarounds. Relying only on built-in phone restrictions isn't enough—you need smarter tools like Bark to stay ahead. 3. Contracts Create Clarity A family tech contract sets clear expectations for screen time, apps, and accountability. Clarity prevents arguments and keeps kids accountable. 4. Model the Discipline You Preach If you tell your kids “no phones at dinner,” but you're scrolling, the rule collapses. Fathers must live the same digital discipline they demand. 5. Your Kids' Tech Is Your Business Phones, apps, and online behavior aren't private property for minors. Fathers must stay engaged, set boundaries, and protect their kids in the digital age.
