The cross of the Lord Jesus Christ has absolutely transformed my life! Not only are my sins forgiven (which all Christians realize) but the cross is also the central theme of the bible and of my day to day life! I will be doing some Bible teaching as well as having conversations "in the Light of the gospel"!

In this video, I speak with Corny Klassen. The entire conversation is in Low German (Plautdietsch), and by now you know—I struggled with it at times. Still, I believe there's more than enough here for this conversation to be a real blessing to you.Years ago, Corny was banned (Utschluss) from the Old Colony Mennonite Church while living in Durango. The reason may sound small to some, but it was serious in that system: he put rubber tires on his tractor and began visiting other churches. Those choices put him outside the rules, and he paid a heavy price for it.Corny came to faith in Christ in a very simple way—beside his tractor in a field back in Mexico. His understanding is simple. His faith is simple. And it feels real. I'm thankful that God saves all who put their trust in Him.This isn't a polished conversation. It's real. It's raw. And it gives a glimpse into Old Colony life in Mexico—church discipline, suffering, and what it looks like to simply trust in Christ.

In this conversation, I sit down with Aaron Rock, Pastor of Harvest Bible Church in Windsor. We talk about his journey into ministry and his deep appreciation for the Mennonite culture, something we connected over right away. His wife Susie was born and raised in a Mennonite home so we had a lot to connect over. Many of you likely became aware of Aaron during the COVID years, when he emerged as a courageous and reasonable voice in the middle of fear, confusion, and government overreach. He stood firmly for the freedom of the church and the importance of remaining faithful to Christ, even when the pressure to compromise was intense. We also spend time discussing the difference between confidence and arrogance, especially in leadership, ministry, and everyday Christian living. This was a very encouraging conversation to me and I believe it will be to you as well!https://harvestbiblechurch.ca

George was born and raised in Durango, Mexico, and moved to Canada at age 12 — only a few years ago! I didn't realize just how young he is until we were well into our conversation. He came to faith in Christ just 8 months ago and has been married for 6 months. It's exciting to see how God is already at work in his life, and I look forward to seeing where the Lord leads him.Much of this conversation is in Low German. Many of George's family members don't understand English, so I did my best to communicate in Plautdietsch. I'm praying my efforts are understandable and that God might use this conversation to bring someone to faith.

Peter Dyck shares his testimony of deliverance and radical life change. After years of resisting God's conviction, everything changed when God met him while driving his truck. He pulled over, spent three intense hours in prayer, and walked away forever changed — free from guilt, shame, and bondage to sin. Peter met Jesus in the bunk of his truck! We also talk about the deep trials his family has faced with their sons battle with cancer, and how God has remained faithful through it all.

Cory and I could not have grown up more differently. And yet, by God's grace, we have come to many of the very same convictions about the faith of Jesus Christ.Cory spent his teenage years immersed in the rock and roll scene before being radically saved by Christ. Not long after coming to faith, he sensed a deep call to ministry—and eventually, to evangelism in particular. That calling led him to start a ministry called The Cross Current, devoted to reaching people with the gospel and equipping local churches with practical resources to build evangelistic ministries of their own.I believe you'll be encouraged and strengthened by Cory's story, his heart for Christ, and the work God is doing through his ministry.https://thecrosscurrent.comhttps://www.youtube.com/@TheCrossCurrentTV/videos

Marriage is designed to perfect you. It will always be a challenge, it will always push you to become better or else you make the marriage miserable! This is a great picture of the gospel, of Christ and the church!

I was sure I had posted this study some weeks back but apparently I did not!? My apologies. Colossians 2 is one of the best passages to argue against man made religion or human effort as a way to come to God. We must be made complete and whole to have fellowship with God and by God's grace that is exactly what God has made us to be through Christ!

On my Whatsapp group these teachings come in 5 minute segments, you'll likely pick up on the choppy format. Hopefully the Lord blesses you through this book!

In this episode, I interview Peter Enns, someone I grew up with near, and attended the Aylmer Old Colony with. Nearly twenty years ago, after I became a Christian, I tried to witness to Peter—but I was brash, and it didn't go well. I never imagined we'd one day sit down for an honest conversation about faith, addiction, and freedom. After getting married, Peter struggled deeply with alcoholism. The heaviest burden wasn't only the addiction itself, but the constant effort to hide it—the deception, anxiety, sleepless nights, financial debt, and the fear of losing his family. Freedom began when God used the song This Is Amazing Grace to break through, and real healing came during a Freedom Session where Peter fully confessed the truth to his wife. Bringing hidden sin into the light lifted a crushing weight and restored peace to his soul and marriage. This conversation explores Christian testimony, addiction recovery, confession, marriage restoration, and the life-changing power of God's grace.

We're going to be celebrating the 100th episode of this Podcast with an in person, live interview and talk on marriage. (The evening will likely be streamed live to this channel as well)I'm looking forward to meeting some of you in person. Hopefully we can honour God with a nice evening of focus on marriage In Light of the Gospel!Follow the link to reserve your spot!https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdodnBnWMALTkxYZVmzzDVXU-VgPytghmQGQlKnOpEyE04J7Q/viewform?usp=dialog

In this conversation I talk with Jacob Andres, a 50-year-old man but a brand new Christian! He is so grateful for the new life God has given him!Jacob was very open about his years of struggling with alcohol, resisting God, and feeling like it all took far too long. During that time, two of his sisters died from cancer, which deeply affected him and really increased the conviction! He shares honestly about regret, but even more about freedom—what it's like to finally come to Christ, to be forgiven, and to start over later in life. This is a real story of God's patience and mercy. If you've ever wondered whether it's “too late,” or if God is still willing to receive you, Jacob's story is a reminder that Christ saves sinners—and He's incredibly patient with us.

It's one thing to understand that God has forgiven our sins through the death and resurrection of Christ, but to also see yourself as being buried with Him and raised to heaven with Him is another whole thing! We have victory over sin through through being dead with Christ and being seated with Him in the heavenly places!

In this episode I sit down again with George Schmidt. The first time he was on, we talked about his conversion to Christ and how he got started singing Plautdietsch Gospel music. This time the conversation goes a lot further.George shares stories from his travels through Bolivia, Mexico, and across Canada—singing, meeting people, and seeing firsthand what's happening in some of the Mennonite colonies down south. We talk honestly about the brutal way some of these colonies deal with anyone who steps out of line, including a recent situation where a man was nearly beaten to death. It's heartbreaking, and it's something that needs to be spoken about. But the heart of this episode is George's motivation. He isn't chasing a platform or a name. His desire is simple: every person is headed toward eternity, and if God opens a door to share the gospel we should take it. That's what drives him, and that's what this conversation is really about. If you care about what God is doing among Old Colony Mennonite communities around the world, you'll appreciate this one.

In this episode I sit down with Henry Andres and we talk through his journey from being a “good” kid on the outside to actually coming to a place of real faith. Henry grew up in the Old Colony church. He knew the basic Bible stories, he behaved well, and by all appearances he was a good boy and then a good man. But underneath that, he had sins that were hidden—mainly pornography—that brought a lot of shame whenever they were exposed. That shame kept him hiding things for a long time. When he left the Old Colony, he figured his Bible knowledge could make him look impressive. But even then he wasn't really submitting to the Lord, and he definitely wasn't ready to bring his secret sin into the light. Over time, he started to see the damage it was doing—how it was hurting his marriage and shaping him into a husband and father he did not want to be.This past summer, after several restless, miserable nights, Henry finally surrendered to the Lord and trusted God for complete forgiveness! He confessed his sin to his wife—again—but this time with real brokenness and a willingness to change. And in that moment he finally found peace, and that's really where his walk of genuine faith began.

In this episode, I sit down with Pastor Nate Wright from Ingersoll Bible Church to talk about why he preaches through the text—verse by verse, book by book. Nate shares why that kind of preaching/teaching protects pastors from drifting into unnecessary creativity and keeps Christ and the Gospel at the center of every message. We also talk about the craziness of the COVID era. Ingersoll Bible Church refused to shut down, mask up, or enforce mandates—and because of that, they saw incredible growth. We also talk about family life, marriage, raising kids, and Nate's new children's novels!SEO tags:Pastor Nate Wright, Ingersoll Bible Church, verse by verse preaching, expository preaching, preaching the Gospel, whole counsel of God, church and government, COVID mandates, church lockdowns, faith over fear, Christian parenting, Christian marriage, raising godly children, children's Christian books, Christian fiction, gospel-centered preaching, Ingersoll Ontario church, Canadian pastors, preaching Christ crucified.

In this episode, I sit down with my friend Jake Thiessen from Cuauhtémoc, Mexico, to hear his story of faith, family, and adventure. Jake and his wife Agatha were the ones who invited me to speak at the Lebenswasser Church marriage conference a couple of years ago, and since then we've had the privilege of seeing their heart for God and for people up close.Jake shares about his upbringing, how he came to faith in Christ, and how he ended up farming in the desert—three + hours from his home community. Jake has passion for reaching people with the good news of the gospel through his work, business, and marriage ministry.Topics discussed:Growing up Mennonite in MexicoComing to faith in ChristFarming and business as ministryMarriage teaching and outreachLiving out the gospel in everyday lifeTags:Jake Thiessen, Cuauhtémoc Mexico, Mennonite testimony, Mennonite faith story, Mennonites in Mexico, Lebenswasser Church, Mennonite marriage conference, Christian marriage teaching, faith and farming, gospel ministry, Mennonite Christians, Plautdietsch people, Mennonite missions, Christian business, following God's call, desert farming Mexico, faith stories

If you want to understand your position in Christ I think this chapter in particular will be very helpful to you! Jesus HAS delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of his dear SON! We are accepted by the Father as holy, unblameable, and unreproveable because of Christs work on the cross!

This episode with Johan Friesen is mostly in Plautdietsch. Johan spent many years trapped in addiction while working long hours to provide for his large family. As a father of nine, Johan looks back with deep regret over the years lost to alcohol and drugs—but his story doesn't end there. Just over a year ago, Johan encountered the gospel of Jesus Christ and found salvation and forgiveness. Today, he walks in freedom from addiction, restored in his relationship with God and with his children! Johan's humility and passion for sharing the good news of Jesus will inspire anyone who thinks they've gone too far for grace to reach them.#Testimony #MennoniteTestimony #Plautdietsch #AddictionRecovery #JesusSaves #Forgiveness #FreedomInChrist #GospelTransformation #FaithStory #ChristianPodcast #InLightOfTheGospel #Restoration #Grace #Salvation #BornAgain

George grew up as the middle child of 17 siblings in the Old Colony Mennonite church. Like many in that background, he tried to follow the rules but never understood what it meant to truly be saved — in fact, he didn't even know what the word salvation meant.Things began to change when his future father-in-law came to faith and was drastically transformed. That sparked a journey that eventually led George to realize the incredible truth that Jesus completely fulfilled the law. It was that understanding that finally gave him confidence in Christ's finished work and assurance of salvation. This is a powerful conversation about moving from religion to relationship — from trying to please God by works to resting in what Christ has already done.Tags:#OldColonyMennonite #Testimony #Salvation #Grace #FaithInChrist #Gospel #ChristianTestimony #MennoniteStories #InLightOfTheGospel #JesusSaves

Many Mennonites of my background grew up believing that forgiveness of sins was something we could only hope for—never something we could know with confidence. Assurance was often seen as pride, as if anyone who claimed to know they were forgiven was boasting in themselves. But the truth of the gospel is far different. In this video, I explain the biblical doctrine of righteousness imputed—how Christ's finished work, not our own efforts, makes us forgiven and right with God. True assurance doesn't come from pride but from faith in Christ alone.

There's a lot of confusion today about what we were actually created for. But the Bible lays it out plainly—God tells us what man was made for and what woman was made for. And the Gospel of Jesus not only confirms that, it actually elevates and deepens the whole picture! Man was created to subdue the earth and fill it, and woman was created to come alongside him, helping him carry out God's will.

The final chapter of the book of Hebrews gives us a lot of valuable instruction, however it only serves us well if we have grasped the truths of the first 12 chapters! We need to know who we are in Christ and what Jesus accomplished for us in order to "live" the Christian life!

Chapter tells begins with a great motivation, telling us that Jesus despised going through the shame of the cross yet did it anyway because He saw the joy it would produce...and it ends with the admonition that our God is a consuming fire! Take these warnings to hear folks!

In this episode, I sit down with Frank Neufeld, who was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico in the Old Colony Mennonite church. His wife grew up in the Kleine Gemeinde tradition, where children were raised with a more intentional approach to life and faith. While Frank avoided much of the typical Old Colony youth culture of partying, smoking, and drinking, he still didn't truly understand the gospel of Jesus Christ until much later in life.He went through baptism and marriage within the Old Colony church, it wasn't until leaving that community years later that the saving work of Christ became clear to him. Today, Frank preaches that only Jesus saves. He has served for years as a pastor/preacher in the Kleine Gemeinde church and now carries a burden to see more Mennonites come to a genuine, saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

The great hall of faith! Throughout Hebrews, the author has been urging his readers to recognize that “the just shall live by faith.” It has always been this way—from the very first men and forefathers of the faith. He wants them to understand that it will be no different for them: walking with God only comes by faith. Faith means being convinced of a reality you cannot yet see, and then directing your steps in light of that truth. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

In this episode I talk with John Guenther, who grew up in Durango, Mexico as the oldest child in his family. From a young age, he felt the heavy reality of God and the fear of hell. He was bullied in school, battled depression, and even struggled with suicidal thoughts throughout his teen years. Medication gave him a temporary lift, and whiskey became his escape—but alcohol soon threatened to destroy his life.Several years ago, John's world was shaken when his mother passed away suddenly from cancer. She had spent years praying for her sons to give their lives to the Lord, and God used her death as a turning point. John finally surrendered in faith to Christ. Immediately, he was delivered from depression medication, and though it took time, God also freed him from alcohol and cigarettes. What changed everything was the simple truth that he no longer stood condemned, because Christ had borne God's judgment on his behalf. That realization gave him peace, and today John has a deep love for studying God's Word. His story is a testimony of God's mercy, power, and faithfulness to answer prayer.Hashtags:#Testimony #ChristianTestimony #FreedomInChrist #Delivered #Gospel #JesusChrist #FromDepressionToJoy #AddictionRecovery #BornAgain

In this episode, I sit down with Calvin Smith, the director and face of Answers in Genesis Canada. Calvin shares his journey from being a committed evolutionary atheist to becoming a passionate defender of biblical creation and the gospel of Jesus Christ. We talk about:His background in evolution and what caused him to walk away from itHow he came to faith in ChristThe work he's doing through AiG Canada in apologetics and creation scienceHow he's used Ai to show the validity of creation scienceHis growing YouTube channel and his travels across the country speaking at conferences and churchesIf you've ever wrestled with questions about science, origins, or the reliability of the Bible — or if you're trying to help someone else who is — this conversation will be a huge encouragement.

This chapter, if understood correctly, can set your soul free like nothing else! There was ONE sacrifice made for sins FOREVER and then Jesus SAT DOWN. There's nothing left for him to do! Revel in that truth folks!

In this episode, I sit down with Ben Wall, one of the hosts of the Plautdietsch podcast The Ben and Lisa Wall Podcast. Ben shares his powerful story of growing up in Cuauhtémoc, Mexico, in a very unstable environment—his dad was involved in drugs and the cartel, his mom was tormented by devil possession, and he was bullied in school. With so much temptation and chaos around him, it seemed like he was destined to follow in the same path—but somehow, by God's grace, he avoided many of the sins of his parents.Ben's story doesn't smooth out right away. After moving to Ontario as a teenager, the instability continued into his early twenties. He was badly burned in a house fire, got his girlfriend (now wife) pregnant out of wedlock, and had to leave Ontario to get married. But it was in that low point that God caught up to him. Ben surrendered his life to the Lord, became a Christian, and everything changed.Since then, he's been passionate about reaching others with the gospel, and it shows in his desire to see people liberating and walking faithfully!

If I am ever unsure what I should preach or teach on, my mind automatically geos to Hebrews 9 & 10! The truths of these two chapters have to be some of the most liberating in all the Bible! They tell us of how complete and thorough the sacrifice of Christ is!There was ONE sacrifice made and only ONE and the work was complete. We can rejoice in that finished work.

Aaron Keeton was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky in the Church of Christ denomination—a movement that taught a five-step plan of salvation: Hear, Believe, Repent, Confess, and Be Baptized. Though Jesus was mentioned, the finished work of Christ—His death for our sins and resurrection—was never the focus.Aaron became a preacher within this system, travelling and teaching wherever doors opened. But everything changed when he encountered the doctrine of Imputed Righteousness—the truth that our standing before God is based on Christ's righteousness credited to us by faith alone. This realization shook his world and radically transformed his preaching. He began proclaiming the true Gospel: that Christ alone saves, and that believers can have assurance of salvation through faith in Jesus. His new convictions led to his removal from the Church of Christ, but Aaron hasn't looked back. He continues to boldly preach and teach the Bible with clarity, passion, and a deep love for the Gospel of grace.

The Old Covenant was not without fault. Flesh was the issue. IF it had been faultless then there would have been no need for another Covenant to be made....The NEW Covenant is far superior in that all shall know the Lord, from the least to the greatest!

There was a greater priest than Aaron...he's hardly spoken of in the bible, but God says that Jesus is a High Priest according to the priesthood of Melchisidec! He has no beginning or end and he never dies!! Just like Jesus... who truly will never die!We have a High Priest that lives forever!

This Father's Day, I'm speaking directly to the dads.In a world grappling with brokenness—from rising crime to deep loneliness, from addiction to suicide—so many of the root issues trace back to one devastating reality: fatherlessness. But it doesn't have to stay that way.In this video, I challenge fathers everywhere to rise to the high calling God has placed on us—to reflect His strength, compassion, and presence in our homes. Ephesians 6:4 says, “Ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” These words remind us: we are called to embody the heart of our Heavenly Father to the next generation.Let this message be both a wake-up call and an encouragement. The world needs godly fathers. Your children need you. Let's fill those shoes.#fathersday #fathers #GodtheFather #Jesus #riseupmen #calling

I'm jumping right into the middle of controversy in this chapter. Not for controversy's sake, but because this chapter has been argued and debated for centuries now! I hope I can bring some clarity to the issues for us all. Let me know what you think!

Hebrews 5 talks about Jesus being ordained to or appointed to being the High priest of our confession. He didn't aspire to the position and take it by force, He was appointed by God to be our High Priest!

In this powerful and honest interview, I sit down with Paul Speed from Whatever It Takes Ministries to talk about his personal journey—from secret sin and internal torment to healing, freedom, and ministry.Paul opens up about the double life he lived for years, hiding behind the image of a faithful husband while battling addiction to pornography and masturbation. When he reached the breaking point, Paul made a radical decision: to confess everything to his wife. What followed was a painful but redemptive process of truth, forgiveness, and transformation.Today, Paul and his wife Jenny started Whatever It Takes Ministries, helping couples confront hidden sin, walk in the light, and experience true intimacy through Christ. Sadly for Paul, Jenny went to be with the Lord in 2019 and a few years later Paul married his lovely wife Niki. Their story is a living testimony that God can redeem even the darkest chapters of our lives for His glory.

Chapter 4 speaks about the "rest" that God wants us to enter into. He equates this rest to " Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. " Too many Christians are still striving, still not willing to rest in the finished work of Jesus!

Hebrews 3 admonishes the Hebrew Christians not to be like their forefathers that were brought out of Egypt in that they constantly wanted to turn back to bondage! Christ is the promised land/rest and Moses offers nothing compared to what we are given through Jesus!

I've known Dave for nearly two decades but haven't seen him for about 17 years! I finally had the opportunity to sit down with him to discuss his testimony and his work in this translation project. Dave has been faithfully serving as a gospel preacher, a Bible teacher, and a church planter across Manitoba, Alberta, and even Bolivia. For the past 10 years, his life has been deeply devoted to a monumental task: translating the entire Bible into the Plautdietsch (Low German) language. A first draft of the New Testament is already printed, and they are now about two-thirds of the way through the Old Testament. As you can imagine, this is no small undertaking! In this conversation, we discuss the vision behind the translation, the challenges and breakthroughs of the work, and how you can be part of it. Whether through prayer, reading the new translation, or financial support, there's a place for you in this important mission to bring God's Word to Plautdietsch-speaking communities. The Website is just barely live yet and will be getting updated as soon as we can get to it. https://plautdietschbibel.com

In this episode, I sit down with Riley Wall... (son of Tony Wall, who many of you will know and who I had the pleasure of working with for many years!) Riley was raised in a stable, godly home, yet he still wrestled with surrendering to Christ until the age of 16. When he finally embraced the Lordship of Jesus he was filled with a profound joy. He and his wife Natalie navigated a unique "hands-off courtship," leading to their marriage during the height of the Covid pandemic—a time that introduced significant strain on both family and church relationships. Riley opens up about the challenges of those years, the bitterness that crept in, and the healing he found through Christ, forgiveness, and community.

One of the most beautiful truths in the Bible is that Jesus is ONE OF US! We have a man that has overcome, a MAN that represents us before the Father, the overcoming MAN Christ Jesus!

I've been doing a 5 minute a day bible study through the book of Hebrews on my Whatsapp group. This is the first few recordings through chapter 1. I hope it's as much of a blessing to you as it is to me!

In this episode, I sit down with Peter Thiessen from Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico—a pioneer in the real estate industry among the Mennonite colonies. Peter shares the story of his childhood, shaped by a hardworking entrepreneurial father and a loving, supportive mother. At the age of 15, he came to faith in Christ, a decision that would become foundational in his life.We talk about the ups and downs of his journey—how he launched a gym business after getting married, only to lose everything due to severe economic challenges. Undeterred, Peter shifted gears and stepped into the world of real estate, where he has since found great success. What sets Peter apart is not just his accomplishments, but the heart behind them. We explore how his perspective has matured—from chasing financial gain to pursuing human flourishing through his work. His story is one of resilience, faith, and the redemptive power of re-centering our motivations.

From Old Order Mennonite to Freedom in Christ | Melvin Martin's StoryMelvin Martin grew up in an Old Order Mennonite community in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, living the horse-and-buggy lifestyle. Though raised in a religious environment, he never truly understood the meaning of Christ's work on the cross—until he reached a breaking point at the age of 33. That's when everything changed. In this episode, Melvin shares how the gospel transformed his life, setting him on a new path for his family and business. Now, he works alongside his sons in the construction industry, encouraging other families to build strong relationships through hands-on work together.Follow Melvin on Instagram: @martinfamilycraftsmen

Pedro Neufeld, pastor at Lighthouse Gospel Church in Milverton, shares his powerful testimony of redemption. Born and raised in Zacatecas, Mexico, Pedro moved to Canada as a young man and was led to Christ at age 18 by a Plautdietsche pastor named Peter Wiebe. Though he experienced an initial transformation, he later fell back into sin, spending years as a prodigal. Even as he married and started a family, he struggled until God mercifully restored his confidence in Christ, breaking the chains that held him captive. Now, as an unlikely pastor, Pedro has had the privilege of witnessing and serving in a great move of God in Milverton. His story is a testament to God's grace and faithfulness.

In this episode, I sit down with Rene Friesen, a successful businessman from Cuauhtémoc, Mexico. Raised in poverty, Rene once believed financial success was the ultimate goal. But over the years, he discovered that true success isn't measured by wealth—it's defined by the willingness to endure pain and stay faithful to God's calling.Rene shares his journey of coming to faith in Christ and then building multiple businesses. He strong encourages to keep priorities in order: never put business above God and family. He explains why happiness doesn't come from financial gain but from pursuing excellence in what God has called you to do.Beyond business, Rene is a co-host on the Benny and Rene show, he runs and organizes the annual Eleva Conference, an event designed to challenge and inspire others to elevate their lives and faith.

In this episode, I talk with Isaac Dyck from Durango, Mexico, about the growing need for Low German literature among the Plautdietsche Mennonite people. No Greater Joy's comic book Good and Evil has recently been translated into Low German, called Goot and Bees. We discuss the challenges and importance of making gospel-centered resources accessible in our mother tongue, as well as the process of translating and printing this powerful book.

Children are natural hypocrisy hunters—they see through pretense and recognize what is real. The Bible warns strongly against hypocrisy because it is fake, and nothing damages a child's faith more than seeing their parents say one thing but live another. In this final part of the Biblical Child Training series, I challenge parents, especially fathers, to lead by example. Your children will learn how to love, worship, and walk with God primarily by watching you. How you honour the Lord, love your wife, and instruct your children will shape their understanding of faith and family. If you want to raise godly children, start by being a godly example.

In this special episode of In Light of the Gospel, I sit down with John Loewen from Cuauhtémoc, Mexico. John is a pastor at Steinreich Mennoniten Gemeinde. He passionately shares the gospel in the Plautdietsch and Spanish. This entire conversation is in Plautdietsch, so my apologies to those who may not understand—but for our Low German-speaking audience, this is one you won't want to miss!John has dedicated his life to reaching Mennonite people with the message of Christ while also being deeply involved in a ministry serving underprivileged Spanish-speaking children in Cuauhtémoc. This ministry provides education – Teaching children to read and write, providing Food and care, showing hope for the future – Helping keep kids off the streets, and most importantly the Gospel – Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ!John's vision goes beyond the Mennonite community—he dreams of a cultural shift in Mexico, where families stay together and children grow up in stable, loving homes.

The Bible commands fathers to bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and children are instructed to obey their parents in the Lord—a commandment that comes with the promise of a long life.In this video, I discuss the second essential thing every child needs: structure and discipline. Without clear boundaries and loving correction, children grow up feeling lost and unprepared for life. Discipline isn't about harshness; it's about teaching, guiding, and shaping them according to God's Word.If you missed Part 1 on providing security and love, be sure to check it out. And stay tuned for Part 3, where I'll talk about the importance of guidance and being a role model.Watch now and learn how biblical discipline leads to strong, godly children who walk in truth!
