On this Fragrance Friday special of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta is joined by Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg, the visionary founders of The Maker—a brand that blends fragrance, design, and hospitality into an immersive sensory world. Known for revolutionizing beauty with Fresh, Lev and Alina have taken their creativity further, building an environment where scent is more than perfume—it's memory, fantasy, and emotion brought to life.Their journey began with The Maker Hotel in Hudson, New York, a living canvas of textures and stories, where each space feels like stepping into a narrative. From there, they expanded into fragrance—crafting scents that don't follow rigid note pyramids but instead tell stories. Each bottle is its own world: Fire, inspired by intimate nights by the fireplace; Naked, a celebration of dawn and intimacy; and Revel, born from the joy of milestones and love, designed to bottle life's most unforgettable moments. For Lev, this connection to fragrance runs deep. Growing up in Soviet Russia with limited access to perfumes, he witnessed the transformative power of a single French fragrance his mother acquired on the black market—an experience that shaped his lifelong belief in scent as a gateway to emotion and memory. The Maker's fragrances are intentionally genderless, designed to be universal yet deeply personal, allowing wearers to interpret them through their own lives. More than a brand, The Maker is an invitation to pause, savor, and connect with beauty in a fast-paced world. Tune in to hear Lev and Alina share the inspirations behind The Maker, their creative philosophy, and how they're redefining what fragrance can mean.To learn more about The Maker, visit their website and social media. If you follow the bike industry, you probably saw the news earlier this year that Revel was shutting down. It caught a lot of people off guard, including customers, fans, and even some insiders. But just a few months later, found Adam Miller announced he was buying the brand back and relaunching Revel with a new vision. So today, we're going to talk about that journey—why Revel is going direct-to-consumer, what Adam learned during his time away from the company, and why he believes now is the right time to double down on building bikes again. Why bring Revel back now, especially given the challenges facing the bike industry? What were you doing between stepping away from Revel and deciding to buy the brand back? Why move to a direct-to-consumer model with the relaunch? What's wrong with the traditional dealer/distributor model for selling bikes? What financing options are available for building and growing a bike company today? How do you see smaller brands like Revel competing with the big players in the industry? What makes Revel different from other bike brands, especially in such a competitive marketWhat's one thing you're doing differently this time around based on your past experience? An automatically generated transcript will be available at Singletracks.com later today. The latest example of bias permeating artificial intelligence comes from the medical field. A new study surveyed real case notes from 617 adult social care workers in the UK and found that when large language models summarized the notes, they were more likely to omit language such as "disabled," "unable" or "complex" when the patient was tagged as female, which could lead to women receiving insufficient or inaccurate medical care. In other news, President Trump no longer thinks Intel's CEO should resign. Trump revealed on Truth Social that he met with Lip-Bu Tan and described it as "a very interesting one." Also, Revel Transit is shutting down its rideshare operation in NYC, as reported by Bloomberg. The company will instead focus its efforts on EV charging. Learn more about your ad choices. Before their grand opening, Revel Surf had to get sign-off from agencies who'd never even seen a surf park. What if inspectors expect a flat-bottom pool—but your tech depends on complex, surf-specific bathymetry? Welcome to the world of Matt Gunn, co-inventor of SwellMFG, the wave tech behind Revel Surf.Matt's classic Californian: chill on the outside, no matter the chaos inside. If he was freaking out over Maricopa County not understanding wave pool bathymetry, he wouldn't show it. And when Canon Beach breaks ground in Texas on the group's second project, he'll face a whole new set of county regs.We caught up with Matt as Revel Surf kicks into high season to see how his nerves are holding up after betting millions—and his brand-new tech—on a single day of inspection. Spoiler: they passed. They're open and thriving. We also dig into the mechanics behind SwellMFG, Arizona's budding surf scene, and how to build community around your project.

In this latest installment of the recurring collaboraton between Ken Fong and Ken Kemp, they attempt to ascertain why Trump and MAGA folks enjoy being cruel to others. Especially those that they believe robbed them of previous stature and status in America. Fong and Kemp also bring in David Brook's recent piece in The Atlantic as he attempts to unpack why so many Americans think Trump is good. And they found a perfect example of where some people choose to ignore cruelty because they've become so acclimated to it in the 2024 German film The Zone of Interest.

In this final (for now) Vedic full moon wisdom episode, host Michel Ai Reavis illuminates the powerful spiritual and energetic currents of July's full moon in Purva Ashada Nakshatra, also known as the “Invincible Star.” Set within the constellation of Sagittarius, this nakshatra blends the expansive wisdom of Jupiter with the luxurious grace of Venus. Through sacred symbolism — from the winnowing basket of ego-shedding to the fan of fame and influence — Michel guides listeners to reflect on their true nature, encouraging a grounded radiance and soulful confidence in business and life. She lovingly reminds us that when we release what no longer serves, we become pure, magnetic vessels for divine abundance.Listeners are invited to deepen their inner journey through heartfelt journaling prompts and an affirmation that aligns with the flowing, cleansing waters of the nakshatra's ruling deity, Apas. The message is clear: this is a time to clear the inner riverbanks of our energy field so prosperity can move freely, effortlessly, and joyfully through us. Michel's gentle and wise reflections help us remember that we do not have to deserve abundance — we are abundance. All we must do is open, allow, and trust in the divine flow.To complete this cosmic journey, Michel draws a spirited card from The Whispers of Aloha deck: “Revel in the Wave” — a message of joy, peace, and presence. This vivid oracle invites us to dance with life's momentum, shift our energy through small soulful changes, and tap into the exhilarating beauty of the present moment. With the oceanic essence of Purva Ashada and the surfer's wisdom to wait, trust, and surrender to life's waves, this episode offers a powerful send-off for this full moon series. Tune in to reconnect with the sacred exhilaration of your dharma, your divine mission, and your infinite worth.
