Welcome to KEEP THE DREAM FLOWING! In this podcast, we talk about the 1969 Woodstock festival with the people who know it best -- the people who made the festival happen, the musicians who performed, and the attendees who came to share in three days of peace, love and music! Thanks for checking us out and, as Wavy Gravy put it, "keep feeding each other!"
Now we need to KEEP THE DREAM FLOWING more than ever! In this episode, conducted next to the monument on the Woodstock field at Bethel Woods, Scott chats with BILL LUCANO, PATRICK COLUCCI and GEORGE KLITSCH about Pat and Bill's efforts to amend the legendary Woodstock monument, Pat and George share their recollections of Woodstock, and all try to answer the question “could it ever happen again?” This is a good one, folks!
KEEP THE DREAM FLOWING RETURNS! It's been months since our last episode, but we're back with more stories of Woodstock and the 1960s! In this episode, we chat with the amazing actress and author CAROL SCHLANGER and her husband CLINT HELVEY (who went to Woodstock) about Carol's book HIPPIE WOMAN WILD, a beautifully written memoir of her experiences in the 60s and beyond, including her time spent living communally in Oregon! The book is HIGHLY recommended, and this is a fun and fascinating interview! Part two of two!

KEEP THE DREAM FLOWING -- THE LOST EPISODES! In this episode from 2019, we talk to our very good friend GILLES MALKINE, he who had been an accomplished musician for some several decades and who, by the way, played a Fender Stratocaster behind TIM HARDIN at Woodstock! Gilles is a wit, bon vivant and scholar of no small repute, and it is always a blast to chat with him! We know you'll love this one!
Here we have nothing less than the most magical episode of KEEP THE DREAM FLOWING ever!!! In this ridiculously special episode, we present the KEEP THE DERAM FLOWING panel discussion live from THE MUSEUM AT BETHEL WOODS! Hosted by our own Scott Parker and Bethel Woods Museum Curator, Julia Fell (who did most of the work!), the panel features an ALL-STAR group of Woodstock attendees and previous KTDF VIPs PATRICK COLUCCI, GEORGE KLITSCH, STEPHEN BROWN, PAUL DITTMER, JEANNIE WHITWORTH and MOLLY O'REILLY McCOY, as well as Woodstock site designer and engineer par excellence CHRIS LANGHART, and KTFD first-timer VIPs, attendee DIANNE BLAIR and none other than the Father Of Live Concert Sound himself, BILL HANLEY!!! This was an incredible, magical event that we know you will all enjoy!
IN MEMORY OF JACK LOKENSKY 1965-2024 As some of you may already know, our brother Jack, co-host of this podcast, passed away peacefully over the weekend. Before he left us, Jack hosted what would become his final interview. And what a special interview this is, as Jack and Erin chat with none other than MOLLY O'REILLY McCOY, Woodstock attendee and keeper of the Woodstock flame! Molly is a FABULOUS conversationalist, and you can expect to hear more for her on this show! This is for you, Jack. You will NEVER be forgotten

He's back!! In this incredibly informative show (the first of two parts), Jack and Erin are joined by MICK RICHARDS, the director of the essential documentary CREATING WOODSTOCK! Mick has any number of Woodstock stories, and here he shares some of the stories he got from interviewing the crew and artists of Woodstock! This is one of our most important and interesting interviews EVER!! Join us, won't you?
KEEP THE DREAM FLOWING – THE LOST EPISODES!! Way back in 2021, the original server we were using to host the first 60+ episodes of KEEP THE DREAM FLOWING mysteriously vanished, and the episodes, while never technically unavailable, became harder to find once we migrated to a new server. We are pleased and proud to begin the long-overdue task of migrating the episodes over to the new server, to have them all in the same place at last! Well well! After a break following the 50th Anniversary festivities, we are back with a very special guest – Cosmic Boogie master and drummer for Tim Hardin at Woodstock, MURUGA BOOKER! Muruga shares all kinds of wisdom with us, from his experiences at Woodstock with Tim, his life-changing meeting with Swami Satchidananda and his spiritual pursuits! Wonders await!
Happy spring, everyone! In this episode, Jack, Johnny and Erin interview Woodstock attendee and true believer, Bill Pellegrini, aka Tao Jones! To put it mildly, bill had his life changed at Woodstock, and he is a staunch defender of the central Woodstock ideology. This is a different but VERY interesting conversation! Part one of two!
With spring just around the corner, how about an interview that stretches back some 54 years? In this episode, we dig into our Woodstock audio archives to bring you this rare interview of Michael Wadleigh and Bob Maurice, the director and producer of the 1970 Woodstock documentary film! The excitement and enthusiasm is palpable as we hear about the struggle to get the film made in the first place, and get a sense for what they all felt the legacy of Woodstock would be some six months after the festival!
We are BACK, baby! We took a longish break, but we have returned with more Woodstock 1969 stories! In this special episode, we chat with BOB SOMMER, the cousin of that supremely underrated Woodstock artist, BERT SOMMER! Bob was but a child when Bert played at Woodstock, but still got to see him play there, and has great stories to share! All this and more! Oh, and if you listen past the end, you might just hear a few words from Bert himself! This is part two of two! Check out Bob's internet radio station at www.shoutingfire.com to hear some amazing music!

We are pleased and proud to begin the long-overdue task of migrating the episodes over to the new server, to have them all in the same place at last! What we have here is a chat with That Gutsy Lady, NANCY LEE BENTLEY, all-around renaissance woman and author of the most excellent book WOODSTOCK WINDOW ON FOOD AND HEALTH! Nancy is more than a bit of a health guru and has lots of useful information to impart here. Oh yeah, did we mention that she also attended Woodstock and has a great story to tell? This one is VIBRANT!!
KEEP THE DREAM FLOWING RETURNS! After a hiatus, we are BACK!! Our first new episode in a while is a wickedly cool thing – we have an interview with our friend STEVE KATZ, former guitarist with Woodstock giants BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS and head honcho of THE BLUES PROJECT! In this episode, Steve talks about the essential new BS&T documentary WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS? which has been playing in theaters of late and will soon be available on streaming platforms! The film documents the band's 1970 U.S. State Department-sponsored/forced goodwill tour behind the Iron Curtain and explores the backlash the band got as a result of the tour. It's a must watch!!

What we have here is a delightful and fun interview with none other than our good friend, the eternally lovely ELLEN COHEN, who has one of the more interesting of stories about attending Woodstock! It's a pretty funny story involved in getting separated from her friend for three days of peace, love and music! This episode is one that we've waited to release for quite a while… In its original form, back in 2019, this was one of the episodes that was most challenged in terms of quality due to the circumstances, under which it was recorded. We have used AI to clean up some of the background noise. It is still not perfect and probably never will be, but hopefully you will find it to be a much more enjoyable listen than in its original form. In any case, it's a great interview, and an important one as well!

There are few people who can honestly say that they were at the epicenter of the creation of Woodstock Nation than the amazing Ticia Agri! As Michael Lang‘s assistant, Ticia was intimately involved in the creation of the Woodstock Music and Art Fair, and can fairly be considered one of the most important figures in the history of the festival. She has so many great stories to share, and in this episode, we get to hear just a precious few of them. This is the second of two episodes, and those are two of our best and most important!

Here we have the one and only JERYL ABRAMSON talking about that year's Reunion, the motivation to make that a yearly event and much more!
Greasers, Unite! In this episode we continue our exploration of the roots with SHA NA NA with two people crucial to the creation of the band, brothers GEORGE and ROB LEONARD! George not only conceived of Sha Na Na, but he choreographed the original act! Rob was a founding member and the original vocalist for the group (and also was friendly with Janis Joplin, as we hear about!). This is the second part of a sensational and informative two-parter!

So obviously, this is a good one, and we also discuss what Steve has been doing of late with the Blues Project, which includes touring (it's a hell of a band, folks, you need to check them out!) and recording a new album, EVOLUTION (now available at the official Blues Project website!). Did we mention that Scott has a good friend (Chris Morrison, ladies and gentlemen!) who is playing with the Blues Project now? All this and more, baby! This is part two of two!

It has long been a dream of ours to have her on the show, and here she is! Lisa is going to talk about her ongoing project gathering Woodstock stories for the Bethel Woods Museum (if you have not given her your story yet, what are you waiting for?), her experiences at Woodstock 99, and so very much more!
