This week we did what everyone else did, saw the epic end to the Infinity Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - Avengers: Endgame. We go in depth on the characters pre-Endgame prior to seeing the movie then really dive in deep into the plot (and plot holes) in the spoiler section of the podcast. Listen as Payton does his best rendition of some of the famous Avengers' score and Sarah just tries to keep up with everyones names.
This week we review the new Netflix movie The Highwaymen starring Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as two former Texas Rangers tasked with tracking down Bonnie and Clyde. Listen as Payton yet again shows off his history-buff side and Sarah defends her love of true crime.
Matthew McConaughey's portrayal of Moondog in 'The Beach Bum' took our screens this week and left us on opposing sides. This movie is packed with tons of stars - Snoop Dogg, Isla Fisher, Zac Efron, Martin Lawrence and THE Jimmy Buffett. It's a wild ride, something Payton calls "an amazing character study" and Sarah describes as "the memoir of a narcissist".
This week we see Jordan Peele's sophomoric directorial effort with 'Us', a horror thriller that is more than it may seem. We are back from our football/Bachelor-induced hiatus! And we went straight in for the kill with the new Marvel studio's blockbuster, Captain Marvel. In true amateur fashion, we had some technical difficulties up front but we made it through to give you a podcast filled with some sing-alongs and lots of Avengers: End Game speculation.
We doubled up on the UK-themed movies this week with Mary Queen of Scots! Another star-studded movie (featuring Joe Alwyn, again!) with plenty Oscar-buzz. Listen as Payton and Sarah do their best to deliver a drunk history-style review of this historic classic.
We are deep into film season which led us to see The Favourite this week. This star-studded movie is bound to get noticed at the award shows in the next few months. Listen as Payton tries his best at a British accent and Sarah spots Taylor Swift's beau in this movie from a mile away.
