Today we discussed the three films that have thus far come out in the franchise that further fans our fanaticism with magic and magicians. Daniel Parra reviews the 3rd installment in the "Now You See Me" franchise. The star-studded cast returns including Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, and they're joined by newcomers Justice Smith, Ariana Greenblatt, and Dominic Sessa. The question is, is the magic of this heist franchise retained? How are the new setpieces? The new tricks? If you're looking for a complete breakdown of Now You See Me: Now You Don't you've come to the right place! The real question is...Did you love it, did you hate it, or are you Somewhere Between on it!?
This is the 3rd film the series following the previous 2 films from 2013 & 2016 and this film was directed by Ruben Fleischer and sees Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman & Mark Ruffalo all return to their respective roles. Lizzy Caplan also returns from the previous film as well as Isla Fisher who was in the 2013 film but not the 2016 sequel. Joining the cast is Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt & Rosemund Pike. In this film, when a new group of young magicians begin impersonating The Four Horseman, they both positive and negative attention and then must join force with the original group for heist from a jewel company that may be a front for much more nefarious business plan. After the moderate success of the 2016, plans for sequel began in 2017 but didn't get off the ground until 2022. The film hit theaters worldwide on November 14th, 2025.
The magicians are back! The third installment in the Now You See Me franchise is in theaters, and Matt & Ashley review it in this episode.
James Cameron-Wilson likes #1 Now You See Me: Now You Don't as much as the first in the trilogy. Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson are joined by younger actors as magicians mounting a heist. He particularly cares for the details and the allusions. #2 is Edgar Wright's take on The Running Man with Glen Powell. But despite the big budget, the main character is unsympathetic, the plot makes little sense and the product placement is appallingly blatant. As a fan of French horror, he likes #27 Alpha from Julia Ducournau. It deserves two viewings before the pieces will fall into place. Learn more about your ad choices. Min 5: AHORA ME VES 3 (3 estrellas) La saga de los ilusionistas vuelve con Now You See Me: Now You Don't (2025), la tercera entrega de la franquicia que inauguró Now You See Me.

We ease back into the swing of things with a double feature that pits small-town rage against cosmic emotional reckoning: Martin McDonagh's bruising Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) and Ari Aster's latest descent into existential dread, the enigmatic and horrific satire of modern life, Eddington (2025). But first, our Blue Plate Special returns with a fresh batch of chatter on the latest film news and releases: we unpack the teaser trailer for Michael, the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic; lament the canceled Ben Solo Star Wars project that might've been directed by Steven Soderbergh; and offer capsule reviews of recent releases Roofman, Blue Moon, Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, and Bugonia. "The Running Man" is a remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1987 dystopian action thriller based on a Stephen King book. Oddly enough, it was set in 2025. This time out, Glen Powell plays a man desperate for money for his family, who agrees to appear in a TV reality game show where he attempts to outrun a team of murderous bounty hunters to win a billion dollars. Director Edgar Wright, who made "Baby Driver" and "Shaun of the Dead," knows his way around action and comedy and delivers on both counts. However, this time he just doesn't know when to quit. He's guilty of overkill. The biggest problem with "The Running Man" is the running time. "Now You See Me: Now You Don't" is the third installment in the comedy heist action series about an ensemble of magicians who pull off bank jobs using their considerable skills at illusion. Jesse Eisneberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco and Isla Fisher team up once again, this time attempting to steal the world's largest diamond from a villainous crime organization led by Rosamund Pike. It's a reasonably entertaining installment, but the tricks are very familiar. What's missing from "Now You See Me: Now You Don't" is magic. If you haven't seen Jean-Luc Godard's classic 1960 French New Wave film "Breathless," then Richard Linklater's "Nouvelle Vague" probably won't have much meaning for you. This Netflix offering is a painstaking recreation of the making of "Breathless," which popularized a new style of filmmaking and made international stars of Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg. Nerd alert!! It's a loving homage to avant garde movie making.

The Cinematic Schematic is back with another special “on the road” edition to review Now You See Me, Now You Don't. It's been 12 years since the social justice magician troupe, the Four Horsemen (played by Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco), made their big-screen debut in 2013. The “Ocean's Eleven with magicians” heist thriller may have been a relative dud with critics, but that didn't stop it from being a box office hit. The first film grossed $351 million worldwide and spawned a sequel, Now You See Me 2, which also performed similarly in 2016. The world has changed since 2016. There's been a global pandemic, two new presidencies, and TikTok and AI have changed the world of social media. Does the franchise still have the magic to dazzle audiences, or has the world moved on to new tricks? Hosts Caleb Masters and Laron Chapman each offer their quick reviews, providing a verdict to end each segment. Listen to decide whether this is worth your time. About Now You See Me, Now You Don't According to IMDB, About Now You See Me, Now You Don't is described as: A diamond heist reunites retired Horsemen illusionists with new performers […] The post Bonus Review: Now You See Me, Now You Don't – The Cinematic Schematic appeared first on The Cinematropolis.
theaters on November 14 from Lionsgate. For Fleischer, returning to work with Eisenberg and Harrelson was a huge draw, but it wasn't the only draw. “It was a combination of factors,” he said. “Definitely a desire to work with Jesse and Woody again. This was my fourth movie with each of them. They're great collaborators, super funny, brilliant actors. I just absolutely love working with them.” He was also a fan of the original franchise and, as he put it, “a huge fan of magic.” Those factors made it an easy yes. “It seemed like it would be a lot of fun and it played to my strengths of making a super fun movie for audiences.”

The Federal Government's Continuing Resolution to fund the government passed the Senate last night after more than 40 days of lockdown. A Judge in Utah has thrown out a Republican drawn congressional map, and substituted one drawn by Democrats and special interest groups. A former aide to New York Governor Kathy Hochul and former governor Andrew Cuomo is on trail for being a spy for the Chinese Communist Party. 12:30 Get Performlyte from Victory Nutrition International for 20% off. Go to vni.life/agr and use the promo code AGR20. 13:00 What happened to civil disagreement? We confront the alarming normalization of political violence in America—especially on the far left. From Hollywood actor Woody Harrelson’s shocking comments about fantasizing over harming the president to the media’s casual acceptance of such rhetoric, we're unpacking how moral decay and intellectual failure have made violence a substitute for debate. 15:30 Would you rather marry young, have children, and build a family with someone who isn’t quite your soulmate—or wait for your true love and miss the window to have kids? American Mamas Teri Netterville and Kimberly Burleson dive into this listener question that hits at the core of love, family, and faith. The Mamas unpack the emotional, biblical, and practical sides of marriage—from marrying your soulmate to growing into one. They share personal stories, wisdom from friends, and surprising insights into how men and women often answer this question very differently. If you'd like to ask our American Mamas a question, go to our website, AmericanGroundRadio.com/mamas and click on the Ask the Mamas button. 23:00 President Reagan once warned that “freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” On this Veterans Day, that truth rings louder than ever. We honor the men and women who have fought, sacrificed, and given their “last full measure of devotion” to preserve America’s liberty. 24:30 The Washington Post just ranked every county in America to find “the best place to raise a family.” Their conclusion? Virginia is the best—and Louisiana is the worst. But when you dig into their methodology, the logic starts to fall apart. In this episode, the hosts break down the Post’s ranking system—what it values, what it ignores, and what it says about the media’s worldview. From weighting abortion access and gender policies above faith, family, and two-parent homes, to dismissing states that still celebrate traditional values, this list reveals more about politics than parenting. 32:00 Get Prodovite Plus from Victory Nutrition International for 20% off. Go to vni.life/agr and use the promo code AGR20. 32:30 Plus, we give Stephen's dad Colonel Thomas J. Parr a call. He reflects on what service, sacrifice, and freedom really mean. A decorated Vietnam veteran with three Bronze Stars (one for valor), a West Point graduate, and a surgeon who answered the call again during Desert Storm, Dr. Parr shares powerful, candid memories — from firefights and helicopter “unplanned landings” to moments of faith and perseverance. 39:30 After our conversation with Col. Thomas J. Parr, we reflect on a lesson that extends far beyond military service — the power of attitude. When life feels like it’s spinning out of control — when jobs are lost, marriages strain, or the world just seems turbulent — there’s still one thing you can choose: how you respond. 41:30 And we finish off with Presidents who served in the military. Before Matt officially joined the show as a co-host he was invited on as guest to talk about one of his favourite movies of all time, ‘Swingers'. Now returning in an official capacity to the ToB Film Club, he brings with him another film from his top-3, another comedy, ‘Kingpin'. A Farrelly brothers film that followed up their smash hit breakout, ‘Dumb and Dumber', and you can see the through lines. Like ‘Dumb and Dumber' we follow two guys who are down on their luck as they head out on the road where chaos and hilarity ensue. Unfortunately it wasn't the hit they hoped despite a killer cast, including legends Bill Murray, Randy Quaid and Woody Harrelson and as a result it didn't leave as large of a cultural footprint as some of the other Farrelly brothers films from this era. It's been nearly 30 years so now seems as good a time as any to revisit this sleeper and see what everyone was missing back then. Next Month: We seem to be unable to escape the 90's, and why would we want to when there's still so much to see! For November we take a look at a proto-Matrix movie by Alex Proyas - things get weird (probably) in the 1998 film ‘Dark City'.

This CORNDOWN kinda sucks. I start off losing my phone, wallet, keys, and even the car. Shopping carts keep getting tangled, sucking in keys, or smashing into things, with wastedmemory stepping in to make it even worse by trying to disengage buggies and change the batteries before they get sucked into my car. Also I am wearing a wire for reasons I can’t discuss, then the food calls start with sneezing on burgers, food that sound like crickets near wooded areas at dusk, plus my chili lid gets stuck. Whuppy shows up with bread that could bend light, while catalyst brings a boneless potato that turns into a prize for me more than once. Snappy bakes gets beef patties in the wrong shape, chili sucks up in my keys, and Tifff drops in with a soda half full of spiders. It all rounds out with wastedmemory mixing spaghetti while buccshot proudly declares he has found chili the best in America. It just sucks. Click here to try it out!We don't usually double up on an actor, but when Robert Redford died at 89, it felt only right to go again. A true Hollywood legend — Butch Cassidy, The Sting, All the President's Men — Redford left us not just with an iconic filmography but also Sundance, a festival that gave countless indie movies a life. This week, we pay tribute by reviewing Indecent Proposal (1993).It's the one where a young, loved-up couple (Woody Harrelson and Demi Moore) are offered a cool million dollars by Redford's billionaire for one night with the wife. A sleazy premise? Absolutely. But it was a 90s cultural flashpoint that had everyone asking: what would you do?What we coverRedford as a twinkly-eyed predator — suave, charming, but pure sociopath energy.Woody Harrelson's “character growth” (spoiler: remembering to take his muddy shoes off the table).Demi Moore stuck as the literal bargaining chip between two men.Erotic sax solos, visible erections, and more money-on-the-bed shots than you can shake a hippo at.Why this could've been a sharp morality tale, but instead feels like a glossy objectification exercise. The cultural lens shift: what audiences excused in 1993 versus what plays as flat-out toxic today. As always, expect detours into visible erections, Michael Bay's slow-mo dice shots, hippos at auctions, Oliver Platt being a slimy lawyer, and whether we'd personally take the money (spoiler: the negotiations got weird).“Hard recommend? Hard pass? Or just Woody being… hard?”We love to hear from our listeners! By which I mean we tolerate it. This week on "Streaming Without A Paddle", Andrew and Ted sit down to discuss the Prime Video original feature "Last Breath" ... starring Finn Cole, Woody Harrelson, and Simu Liu. Based on the true story of deep-water diver Chris Lemons. Lemons (Cole) and his dive partner David (Liu) are 300+ feet below the surface of the ocean in a dive to replace a faulty gas valve when their ship loses it's gps position hold capabilities that cause the divers to be pulled from their work location. Lemon's umbilical cord is severed leaving Lemons on the bottom of the ocean. Once the captain and crew are able to regain manual positioning hold David (Lui) returns to the sight to retrieve Lemon. Found lifeless on top of the underwater manifold David brings Lemon back to the diving bell where he is given mouth to mouth by the dive leader Duncan (Harrelson). Amazingly Lemon starts breathing again after being without oxygen for nearly 30 minutes.
Let's do Woody Harrelson movies.
In this week's Ep we're joined by listener and official scoreboard keeper, Rod Gunn, to discuss 2021's action romp – Kate. Milt and Dave fired up the Time Machine and landed smack in September of 1991, when mullets were plentiful and Blockbuster late fees could bankrupt you. We're running down the box-office champs—from Arnold blowing stuff up in Terminator 2 to Billy Crystal roping cattle in City Slickers, with pit stops at Woody Harrelson's baby-faced cameo in Doc Hollywood and the horror sequels nobody really asked for. Along the way, we: Trade war stories about seeing these flicks in sticky-floored theaters. Act out scenes like idiots (you're welcome). Dish out Rotten Tomatoes scores and wildly unfair judgments. Wonder aloud why The Commitments still slaps and why Dead Again deserved more love. Debate whether Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is epic or just Kevin Costner cosplaying with a bad accent. And yes—some of these movies aged like fine wine (T2), while others… let's just say they've turned to vinegar (Child's Play 3, I'm looking at you). Episode Breakdown 00:00 – Bickering & Banter 01:19 – Dave apologizes for… something. Again. 02:17 – Nostalgia bomb: our '91 movie memories 03:56 – The countdown begins 07:20 – The Commitments review 17:27 – Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves 27:44 – City Slickers 38:40 – The Doctor 45:47 – Child's Play 3 (spoiler: nope) 47:03 – Box office chatter & that weird UK crime link 51:40 – Doc Hollywood + baby Woody Harrelson 58:25 – Hot Shots!
