We're just one episode away from 250 and we're talking Houses of the Unholy by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips from Image Comics. But first, how did Cody's comedy show with Hannibal Buress go? Are we 3 dudes learning and growing? What did we think of the Thunderbolts trailer? Where the hell is Baron Zemo? Are we All-In with the new Absolute titles from DC Comics? Should this comic have been longer? Is the cult in this story connected to Fatale? What does Satanic Panic have to do with this story? Was Natalie actually involved with a satanic cult when she was younger? Is Natalie's brother part of a demonic QAnon? Would this comic make a good movie? Does the comic feel more like a thriller than horror? Do we like how ambiguous the comic is? Does Comics and Chronic have lost recordings? Will our Paddington 2 episode ever be released? Would Jake be a cult leader? Is Cody's most cherished desire to one day kiss and/or fuck Anthony? Is Cody Anthony's goomar? How do we feel about the start of The Penguin? Will episode 269 be even bigger than our 250th? How are we like The Beatles? Find out this week on your favorite comic book and weed Comics and Chronic! Jim Rutledge & Molly Brown continue to collect themselves following a fantastic appearance from actor/comedian Hannibal Buress in Hour 1. They finally shift to today's Packers topic, as Jim reacts to a point that Evan Cohen made on X/Twitter that seemingly re-affirms Jim's takes on Super Bowl winning QBs. Jim asks if the Packers best chance to win a Super Bowl with Jordan Love is in 2024 (while he's still on a cost-controlled contract)? Jason Wilde joins Jim & Molly to talk everything from intro music to the Olympics to the Packers! Jason begins asking why his nickname for producer Primetime Wollersheim (aka the sommelier) never stuck, and he discovers the well-hidden nickname of his longtime colleague Jim Polzin of the Wisconsin State Journal. Jim also shares some of his fascination/fandom for the US Women's rugby team and their star player Ilona Maher. They talk about the Olympic sports that most average joes could pick up (if they dedicated their life to it). Molly also asks Jason about the perception that the Packers still just have it "figured out" with developing QBs after signing Love to a mega-deal, and Jim asks Jason if this season is the Packers' best chance to win a Super Bowl with Love under center? Throwing Stones includes takes about the Brewers sticking to their financially-reasonable philosophy at today's trade deadline and the idea of a "family section" for air travel. They wrap up the show with Jim's advice for nervous flyers like himself.
Jim Rutledge & Molly Brown roll for the second straight edition of Jim & Molly while Matt is still off celebrating the summer Olympics in parts unknown. Jim & Molly begin the show with their own celebration for the over-achieving US Women's rugby team and star Ilona Maher, even though their not allowed to replay any of the calls/clips from the team's iconic Bronze medal win. Jim rails against NBC's stupidity for not allowing people to re-share their Olympic content, an Molly asks why the Kelce's have to be involved in everything including the Olympics? Actor and comedian Hannibal Buress joins the show in-studio while in town for his pop-in show at Comedy on State tonight! Jim & Molly begin asking Hannibal about his wide-ranging background in movies, standup comedy, music, writing and more - including the Eric Andre Show, writing for SNL, owning/operating his own performance venue, and working in the MCU! They also get into the Olympics with him -- what's his favorite sport to watch, is he impressed by curling, and where does he get a love for bowling? They wrap up with Hannibal's thoughts on the Bucks, the NBA at large, and player podcasts like Thanalysis! Jim, Molly & Primetime wrap up Hour 1 with a review of the Brewers' moves ahead of the 5pm trade deadline, including trading Joey Weimer and Jakob Junis for starter Frankie Montas last night and acquiring reliever Nick Mears over the weekend, which Jim politefully labels "shifting around your crap for other crap."

Barry, Abigail, and special guest Dinos Korominas discuss Dinos' Jukebox submission, Professional Rapper by Lil Dicky, and sample Failsafe, Banana Split Fusion, Luminous, and Matterhorn from Woven Water Brewing Company in Tampa, Florida. Dinos recommended the music video for Lemme Freak. Molly features Brendon Urie of Panic at the Disco. Listen to our recent Panic! At the Disco album review, A Crowler You Can't Pour Out (Panic at The Disco & Disco Witch)! Barry loves the music video for this song! Bruh… reminded Abigail of Live at Union Square, November 1986 - Live by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. Listen to our review of that album, Jukebox: He's the Drinker, We're the Talkers (DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince and Evil Genius Beer Company). Abigail first saw Hannibal Buress' comedy on @midnight, a comedy panel game show that focused on the Internet's reactions to current events. Barry correctly recalled that a viral joke from one of Buress' comedy sets started the chain of events that eventually led to Bill Cosby's downfall. Read more about that story and listen to Buress' reaction to the events. Watch the music video for $ave Dat Money (feat. Fetty Wap & Rich Homie Quan). This Episode Tommy talks about his comedy career, divorce, how he almost lost his new cat, and a trip he had in his 20's in Europe. Tommy Ryman, a semifinalist on NBC's Last Comic Standing, is an acclaimed comedian. His oddly-adorable stand-up landed him No. 1 on iTunes comedy charts for his album Party Troll. Named Best of the Midwest at Gilda's Laugh Fest, Tommy grew up in Minnesota jamming on clarinet for his new-age mom and kale-chip-making dad. He performs at top clubs, colleges, and festivals across the nation including the Great American Comedy Festival. Tommy was invited to be on Nickelodeon's NickMom Night Out and has a full comedy special on Dry Bar Comedy. He's worked alongside Nick Swardson, Hannibal Buress, Maria Bamford and Louie Anderson but none wear a cardigan quite like Tommy. Featured on Paste Magazine and regularly heard on SirusXM and iheartradio, Tommy's act can be described as absurdist and clever masked behind an endearing, innocent demeanor. A Last Comic Standing judge raved, “I have never seen anything like [Tommy] before in my whole life, [he is] one-of-a-kind, fantastic!” Chapters 0:00 Clean and Dirty Writing Style 2:48 Divorce 7:00 Editing your Art 8:15 Attention Span 11:42 Slept in a train station in Paris 19:15 Sleeping in random places 22:14 Headliner locked us out of the condo 23:02 Road stories 25:01 Grandpa in a plane crash 29:03 Population Decline & AI 39:14 New Cat Story. The film stars the voices of Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon as the titular Turtles, alongside an ensemble voice cast that includes Ayo Edebiri, Maya Rudolph, John Cena, Rogen, Rose Byrne, Natasia Demetriou, Giancarlo Esposito, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, Paul Rudd, Post Malone, and Hannibal Buress. In the film, the Turtles go on a hunt for a mysterious crime syndicate, but trouble arises when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them. The story explores themes of family, acceptance, and conformity. Plans for an animated Turtles film with involvement by Rogen began in 2018. In June 2020, the project was officially announced, with Rogen, Goldberg, and James Weaver producing through their company, Point Grey Pictures, Rowe as director, and O'Brien as screenwriter. Kyler Spears joined soon after as co-director. Seeking to explore the teenage aspect of the Turtles, the filmmakers drew inspiration from teenage coming-of-age films. The majority of the cast was announced in March 2023. The animation was provided by Mikros Animation in Montreal and Paris and Cinesite in Vancouver and Montreal, and was primarily influenced by school notebook sketches. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross composed the score. Mutant Mayhem was screened as a work-in-progress at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 12, 2023, and was released by Paramount Pictures in the United States on August 2, 2023. It has grossed $180 million worldwide and received positive reviews for its performances, screenplay, and stylized animation; several critics considered it the best Turtles film. A follow-up television series, Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is set to premiere on Paramount+, and a sequel film is in development. At this point in his career, Eric Andre is almost a household name. The Eric Andre Show was his first big project. The show kicked off in 2012, and is entering its sixth season. Usually the point of a talk show is to make guests comfortable. Andre's greatest pleasure seems to be to make his guests squirm. Great talk show hosts are always in control. Andre always seems to be veering off a cliff. To celebrate the latest season of The Eric Andre Show we dug deep into the archives from when the show first premiered more than a decade ago. In this extended cut we dive even deeper into the madness of the show with Andre. Plus, he told us what it was like to collaborate with comedian Hannibal Buress, and how he initially came up with the idea for the show.
“Who controls the rhythm of the algorithm?” Azhar Usman is a Muslim American writer, actor, comedian, producer - and many other things - of Indian descent (by way of Chicago). Dave Chappelle once declared, “Azhar's like a comedian from the future.” One of the most outspoken voices of his generation, Azhar's a writer & Co-Executive Producer for Hulu's award-winning RAMY (stop what you're doing and watch this show NOW). Marvel Studios recently also announced that Azhar would be joining the MCU in the highly anticipated Disney+ show MS.MARVEL (Raman fan-girls over the comic it's based on). Azhar's worked on comedic projects for Netflix, Hannibal Buress, Mo Amer, and Hasan Minhaj (he served as a writer for Minhaj's epic 2017 White House Correspondents Dinner speech). Azhar co-created ‘ALLAH MADE ME FUNNY–The Official Muslim Comedy Tour' (which toured 20+ countries across 5 continents), toured India for the US State Department as part of “Make Chai Not War”, was named one of ‘The 500 Most Influential Muslims in the World' (Georgetown University), and called ‘America's Funniest Muslim' by CNN. Oh and he's a father of four, former attorney, and dotcom entrepreneur - so at least we know his parents are proud of something. As we continue our conversations with Muslim Americans for the Holy month of Ramadan - this is a deep one you're going to enjoy, so buckle your seat belts...
