Late night shenanigans and drunken adventures on the back porch. Porch Drunkies Theme Song Performed by Those Two AKA Brandon Caylor and Elizabeth Harman (www.facebook.com/thosetwoareawesome) and the Porch Drunkies.
More often than not in life, in order to figure out where you're going, you have to look at where you've been and how/why you got there in the first place. It was our mission this episode to talk about why we started the podcast, what we wanted then and how that has changed since. In this episode, we're still the same old drunkies, sitting on the porch, only sweating it out while remaining entirely sober...so maybe not exactly the SAME. We went with a stream of consciousness format in this discussion, taking it way back to the beginning and how life, and we, have changed since then. How self-censorship has affected us on social media and, yes, the podcast. To that, we say "f*ck self-censorship!" We'll be hitting the mics more often in the near future! To file a formal suggestion or complaint, feel free to comment directly on our Soundcloud track or reach out to us on Facebook or Instagram! :)
So, here we are, 8 months since our last podcast. After the long hiatus, we take a look back on that time to discuss what's been going on in whatever dimension we've seemed to have landed in. People are strange. The whole world has gone mad. Animals are mortal. Depression is definitely a thing. We're inconsistent as f*ck (which may or may not be due to all of the aforementioned), but hey, we're still here! Over all, I give it a "Needs Improvement". Better luck next year.
We're 8 weeks into the lock down and thought it would be a good time to return to the back porch. We discuss how we've been spending our time the last 2 months; looking at reports; travelling; enjoying some TikTok; looking at the world around us and essentially losing our minds. Enjoy the show!
It seems like I fell asleep a month and a half ago and didn't wake up. And the people are telling me, "but you ARE awake!" And the government is saying "I'm not saying that you're awake or asleep, but I'm telling you that whatever you ARE, you'll never experience the opposite ever again. So, whatever we ARE at this moment in time, we decided that we need to voice our experience with the rest of the world. We're sorry. Or you're welcome. We're not going to tell you which one is true. Again, is this REAL life?!?!?!
They say everything starts going downhill at 40; your knees start creaking and your mind starts going, so it's only fitting that we have literally every technical difficulty known to man before and during our 40th podcast! Please bear with us for this one. While we *were* able to podcast, however, we discussed coronavirus mania, crazy laws and how a single generation can change things, and the games we've been playing lately. We also discussed how the whole technological world seemed to be against us tonight. We'll be back again next week! Have a great weekend, everyone!
Welcome back to the Porch, Drunkies! It's a new year and we are back with Melly and a new voice, Daryl. We discuss the YouTubes, old movies, Starlink and all of the things of the future because the future is finally here! Or something like that. As well as primal fears, primal instincts, and primal nature. I think "primal" might be the word of the day. That or "climax". You choose. Cheers!1
In a world.... Where Tomas found a hack in his video game; where Maigyn avoided the bay-area plague like a boss; where people get arrested for giving sick kids vitamins; where we are trying to thing of what gifts to give to our secret santa recipients; where the rain has sequestered us in the garage for our porch podcast. Yeah, we live in that world and we talk all about it in this week's episode. Welcome back to our world.
Back on the porch talking about the goings on outside of the porch. When the whole damn world seems to be going crazy over every other thing, sometimes you just have to grab a drink and thank the Universe for small blessings. Like missing your spouse; like video games; like the fact that your kid was in an accident and walked away with only bumps and bruises. There are so many things and we kinda go over a lot of them. In our porch drunkie kinda way. We appreciate all of you. Have a good evening!
Happy November 1st! We talked about Halloween, Escape room versus Exit room and team building adventures. Ancestry remapping and culture faux pas with a little dash of movie talk ending with Tomas' rant on The Outer Worlds and how awesome it is.
So random. First off, it's Thursday night. Second, we came into this podcast with zero plan. Just a need to put something out into the Ethos because we didn't have the chance to record last week. I would love to say we were on our A-game, but that would be a bald-faced dirty ass lie. With Tomas choking on his own saliva almost to death halfway through the podcast (can you find the edit? It's like a weird audio version of Where's Waldo?) and Maigyn just having an off night, it's more like a D-game, but what can we do? However, we bring our stream of consciousness like no other. No need to wonder what our conversations are like, because this is one of them. Only with microphones. And the posting to the internet for the rest of the world to hear if they ever happen down this path. You're welcome.
After our short hiatus, we come back to have a very important discussion surrounding something Maigyn has hidden on the podcast. Although it has a different tone than most of our other episodes, she felt this was a better time than ever before to break her silence. We hope you all listen with an open mind and engage with us if you feel so inclined. #bornthisway #gavinnuisance #calipharma
Finally... After all these weeks.... He's finally here! Yes folks, he does exist! Not only is he here, but he's sharing his (pretty awesome) music with us! We take a deep dive with Dave to find out his song-writing process over the years, his evolution from #tastefulscreamo and where he's going to go next. Thank you so much, Dave, for finally coming! ...that's what she said... http://soundcloud.com/daveoatismusic http://soundcloud.com/speak-no-more
Like our theme song says, sitting on the porch there is so much on our mind...tonight we go from one current topic to another. From terrible choices in the sun to future convention endeavors (#burningcat) to why Maigyn was glad to not have to sit through last weekend's episode. Nothing too serious and we had a lot of fun. We hope you all have a great weekend! Enjoy!
Maigyn is out of the house so you know what that means?... Video Games, Movies,Shows and all of the above when Big Daddy Zach Returns to the podcast!
Sometimes things don't go as one planned. When that happens, you redirect and run with it. This week has been a whole lot of all that. Tonight we talk about failures in our attempts, how Tomas is the freak that has panic attacks in nature, how Maigyn is the freak that can't even hear about terrible things without feeling pain and getting nightmares, and how we could never seem to keep the DM happy. He's honestly sick of our shit. Here's Cthulhu in body armor. Here to fuck up your campaign.
Sometimes gold just pours out when we press Record. We welcome back Zaydra and Jaime to the podcast to share with us their moments of being attacked almost to death by hummingbirds and deciding whether or not we should purchase humans for the sake of the humans they are growing. ...wait, what?!
Reunited and it feels so good! Tomas's brother, Dan, joins us from across the country via Skype. It's an experiment, for sure. We can't wait to have Dan back on!
Back in the day when we were young, we're not kids anymore, but some days we sit and wish were just kids again....until we remember how easy kids have it these days. *sigh* Then, we remember how crazy things are getting nowadays. Let's not raid Area 51, k? Our guest had something come up last minute, so it's just the original Porch Drunkies doing what they do all the time, Pinky. Plan to take over the world. And sing the Veggie Tales theme song. Not sponsored.
