This is something I see a lot which holds people back in achieving their goals and progressing onto the next level. They spend so much time comparing themselves to others they forget to focus on their journey, the progress they have made and the path they are on.Ask yourself what purpose does this have? Most of the time wishing we had what others had, wishing we were like them leaves us feeling negative, demotivated and takes the satisfaction away from our journey.FORGET EVERYONE ELSE AND FOCUS ON YOURSELF Focus on your achievements, the progress you have made and how far you have come. Don't waste time comparing yourself to othersAim to compete with yourself, be better than you were last week, last month and don't let other peoples progress or success take away from what you have achievedBE the best version of yourselfThanks for listening, see you next week for another episode

IT DOESNT HAPPEN INSTANTLY, IT TAKES TIMEIt takes time to build and achieve the things you want. Looking for the quick fix, instant results and fastest results possible more often than not leaves us feeling demotivated and like a failure when we don't achieve it or don't see the progress we want. Playing the long game, thinking long term and applying patience to our goals and what we want to achieve is so important as this can help you succeed on your journey.Things get tough, we have down days but when we play for the long term those are a minor bump in our ongoing journey Hope you enjoyed this episode of the Powered By plants Podcast See you next week for another episode

When we do this we take all focus off our progress and the journey we are on. Why is goal setting important, mistakes to avoid and How to set goals

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 8, 2020 32:22

We all have different dreams, ambitions and aspirations and without a clear goal or plan these can just be a wishIn this episode of the Powered by plants podcast I share the importance of goal setting, some of the common mistakes I made when setting goals and the principles of HOW to set a goal, which can be applied to any goal whether its health, business, fitness, family, charity etc.The principles we discuss S.M.A.R.T targetsSpecific - Clear and well defined. Vague or generalised goals are unhelpful because they don't provide  directionMeasurable - Precise amounts, dates, units etc so you can measure your success and progress  Attainable - Make sure that it's possible to achieve the goals you set. If you set a goal that you have no hope of achieving, you will only demoralize yourself and knock your confidence. Relevant -  Goals should be relevant to the direction you want your life and career to take. You'll develop the focus you need to get ahead and keep motivated Time bound -  Adding a deadline, give you something to work towards When you are working on a deadline, your sense of urgency increases and you can celebrate once you have completed it  Next stepsWrite them down  By writing it down you commit, it makes it real and you have no excuse for forgetting about it.  Action Plan - One of the most important steps - Create an action plan. This plan should align with your goals and include daily, weekly, monthly actions which you can take to move you closer to your goal  Review your progress -  Remember - If you don't take action, nothing will happenFor anyone that is struggling with goal setting I will be offering a FREE 30 min call where we will;Understand what you want to achieve Set some S.M.A.R.T goalsCreate an action plan to followAll you need to do is drop me a message saying 'GOAL SETTING' and we can arrange your zoom or phone call Instagram Facebook Are you interested in connecting with like minded people, Sharing recipes, workouts or fitness tips/advice?
