Listeners of Review Revue that love the show mention:The Review Revue podcast is a delightful and hilarious show that combines reading reviews with improvisational comedy. While the initial intention may have been to focus on the reviews, the hosts often veer off into hilarious tangents and create improvised bits that add an extra layer of humor to the show. This can sometimes take away from the seriousness of the topic at hand, such as discussing car antlers or bummer stickers, but it certainly adds entertainment value.
One of the best aspects of The Review Revue podcast is Reilly's magical performance. Her puns, jokes, and general talent for comedy are consistently on point and never fail to make listeners cry with laughter. Reilly's comedic skills bring a unique energy to each episode and make her an absolute standout. On the other hand, Geoff's role as a cohost is not particularly remarkable. While he is not bad by any means, he tends to coast through each episode without offering anything exceptional. His performance can be described as standard and middle-of-the-pack. While this doesn't necessarily bring down the overall quality of the show too much, it does slightly diminish its potential.
The Review Revue podcast serves as a great source of laughter and entertainment while also providing interesting content to listen to. For example, they discussed Gilmore Girls in one episode, which led me to watch the show myself. It's refreshing to be able to enjoy this podcast in my 20s and I highly recommend it to others looking for something entertaining to listen to. Additionally, their Patreon seems cool and I even decided to support them by paying $4 before writing this review.
Overall, The Review Revue podcast never fails to make me laugh until tears stream down my face. The improv scenes are unrealistically funny and their guests are always amazing. Ryan Gaul's episode stands out as a work of art in particular. This show brings joy into my otherwise dreary days with its nonsensical humor. However, it does have a tendency to get stuck in my head, as I find myself singing "Fun You" at least four times a week. Despite my lack of comedic talent, I still enjoy listening and getting a good chuckle from this podcast. The banter between Reilly and Geoffrey is great, but Reilly's talent truly shines through and elevates the show to another level.
In conclusion, The Review Revue podcast is an exceptional comedy show filled with laughter-inducing improv and a fantastic host in Reilly. While there are some minor drawbacks, such as Geoff's average performance as a cohost, the overall quality and entertainment value remain high. This podcast consistently brings joy and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a good laugh. Keep up the great work!
