A couple of pro wrestling fans telling you what the fact of the matter is.
¨The FACT of the MATTER is¨ Podcast
What an amazing show this past weekend as AEW put on Revolution. The show had some great matches, the matches of note have to be CM Punk vs MJF, The Face of the Revolution Ladder match and the Main Event Adam Cole vs Adam Page. Both women championships were retained, Jade had a great match against Conti and DMD defended the Woman's Championship (which had a new design) against Thunder Rosa. Plus the fun as hell trios tornado match and triple threat tag match for the AEW Tag Team Championship. This was al started off with Jericho losing to Eddie Kingston. This years Revolution will go down in history as one one AEW's best PPVs of all time.
Last Tony Khan revealed there was a HUGE announcement coming soon, little did we know the announcement was coming this week. AEW owns Ring of Honor. That's a crazy sentence, never in a million years did we think Tony Khan would've bought ROH, but it's happened and everyone is hyped. The hype was at an all time high because of Revolution and now the wrestling world is on fire. The Ring of Honor video library has the beginning of many mainstream wrestlers, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Samoa Joe and many more have set foot in ROH. When AEW eventually gets a streaming deal it will definitely be a must have if you're a wrestling fan.
This weekend is Revolution, and Tony gave us a stacked card. With Adam Page defending the AEW Championship against Adam Cole and with both ReDragon and the Young Bucks facing Jurassic Express for the AEW Tag Championships, the Super Elite could be leaving with all the gold. Our favourite match at Revolution is easily Moxley vs Danielson, these guys have been doing the best work of their careers, especially this heel run from Bryan. At the end of the day after they bleed together, will Mox join Bryan? Going into the show the most hyped match has got to be MJF vs CM Punk, even after CM Punk lost to MJF in his home town, we still want to see more, and its crazy that they were able to turn this feud into a different story after that first match. Who is gunna be the Face of The Revolution? The top contender has got to be Keith Lee, but they could pull the trigger on Wardlow turning face after a big win at Revolution. Two great Woman's Championship matches are gunna be on this show. Jade defends her TBS Championship against Tay Conti, while Britt Baker takes on Thunder Rosa in a much anticipated match for Britt's AEW Championship. Plus a match built with great dueling promos in Chris Jericho vs Eddie Kingston, and the Trios Tornado Tag match between The AHFO's Andrade El Idolo, Isiah Kassidy and Matt Hardy vs The TNT Champion Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin and Sting.
We are one week away from AEW Revolution, with Jericho vs Kingston and Jade defending her title against Tay the card keeps getting stacked. Dynamite this week had a great show with some great promos, especially from MJF. MJF for the first time made us feel bad for him, he told us the story behind the infamous CM Punk picture, ending off with MJF in tears walking away from Punk. In the world of WWE, Cesaro leaves WWE and Vince McMahon might be in a match at Wrestlemania. Plus the latest speculation on Cody Rhodes.
The biggest story of the year just happened, Cody and Brandi Rhodes have left AEW. Why did they leave? Are they going back to WWE? What does this mean for AEW backstage? We talk about all the news around the Rhodes departure and our thoughts on where they are going. Plus WWE had their first Saudi show of the year, we'll be covering what happened and our thoughts on the show.
This week AEW had a massive debut in Limitless Keith Lee. Plus the the great main event on Dynamite Hangman Page defending the AEW Championship against The Murderhawk Lance Archer and the amazing impromptu tag match between FTR, CM Punk and his partner Jon Moxley.
AEW is a month away from their first PPV of 2022. So we thought we'd take a crack at booking the show to see how close we can get to the real match card.
This has been a very eventful week in wrestling, with both the Royal Rumble and CM Punk vs MJF, there's a lot to talk about this week.
After an abysmal Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania is starting to take shape. We thought we'd take a crack at making a better card than WWE is going to. Join Frankie and Emerson as they book Wrestlemania.
This week was AEW's Beach Break, and the show delivered two great matches. The opening match and main event will go down in AEW's history books, Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara put on a 5 star quality ladder match, and the lights out match between Adam Cole and Orange Cassidy left us with some great moments. With the Royal Rumble coming up WWE reminded us that they don't know how to put together a decent go-home show.
The Royal Rumble marks the first stop on the Road to Wrestlemania. With both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns defending their championships, will both of them leave with their belts or will one of them show up in the rumble to meet the other at Mania. Will Rhonda come back to WWE? Is Charlotte going to win the Rumble as Smackdown Woman's Champion? Join Frankie and Emerson as the run down the Royal Rumble card and give you their predictions.
WWE this week chose to change their longest reigning champion in the modern day WALTER, and they chose a Nazi military commanders name. Also Bully Ray gave some terrible takes, like how Moxley should have apologized to the fans. AEW had some of the best promos ever this week. Join Frankie and Emerson as the wrap-up this week of wrestling, and rant about GUNTHER.
After the busiest week of wrestling ever, this week hasn't been the biggest week for news. WWE continue with stupid name changes, now with them wanting to change the name of Elimination Chamber. AEW this week had some decent shows, with a new debut, a diss track, two title matches, and the continuation of the CM Punk vs MJF storyline.
From wrestlers to matches, we're counting down our top 5 of 2021. Who will be our top 5 wrestlers? What PPVs will make the list? Join Frankie and Emerson as they countdown their top 5 of everything wrestling in 2021.
The first week of 2022 has been a busy week for wrestling fans, WWE to Impact to New Japan to AEW to even ROH, it seemed like everybody had something going on. WWE started off the week with DAY 1 that had Brock Lesnar winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and followed up on RAW with Bobby Lashley becoming number 1 contender. New Japan put on Wrestle Kingdom 16, both nights ended with Kazuchika Okada winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. AEW had 5 huge Champion matches with 2 new champions being crowned, both Jurassic Express and Jade Cargill becoming first time champions in AEW.
There's been a lot of good this past year in the wrestling world, but there's also been a lot of bad. WWE seemed to be trying to top themselves on the list of worst pay-per views, and AEW might not be missing now but there was some big misses from them as well. From worst wrestler to worst match, join Frankie and Emerson as they give you their worst in wrestling in 2021.

With the final days of 2021 among us. In this solo edition of The FACT of the MATTER is Podcast, Frankie discusses this week in wrestling including AEW and the 1 hour classic between Bryan Danielson and Adam Page from this past weeks AEW Dynamite. With great AEW matches every week on Wednesdays and Fridays comes the WWE and their continuous long and boring build to the Day 1 PPV which is under 2 weeks away. I also give you my thoughts on the big news from this past week within WWE, which is Kevin Owens signing a new deal with WWE for an estimated 2-3 million dollars per year and how he will stay in the WWE for another few years, killing all the rumours about him potentially leaving the WWE to join AEW. Last week MJF teased being in his hometown and being cheered as the hometown hero. This left us wondering if anyone would cheer for MJF, I mean MJF is feuding with CM Punk, how can you boo CM Punk. Well they did it, CM Punk swerved the audience coming out to MJF's theme song and Long Island did not like it. What a great narrative, just like when WWE goes to Canada, AEW was in The Twilight zone where MJF is the most loved man.
This week Cody Rhodes almost killed himself by putting Andrade El Idolo through a flaming table with a reverse superplex. Cody definitely deserves a lot of respect for his street fight this week. On the other hand, WWE deserves no praise this week. On RAW this week in two separate promos, had superstar releases were blamed on other superstars. Even if you don't care about the wresters you gotta admit that it was done in bad taste.
Who doesn't have a favourite Championship belt from WWE? WWE has some of the most iconic belts in wrestling history. From great ones like the classic Intercontinental Championship which was brought back by Cody Rhodes, to the bad ones like the 24/7 Championship, and the divisive ones like the John Cena spinner WWE Championship. Join Frankie and Emerson as they put together their Tier List of WWE belts.
This year especially it feels like WWE has given up on Survivor Series. With a terrible rushed build, THE EGG, and hinting at The Rock showing up when they knew he wasn't, Survivor Series was a mess of a show. Join Frankie and Emerson as they round up this week in wrestling, including the great promos and matches from AEW.
This week Frankie and Emerson go head to head in a WWE trivia quiz. Who will win? Who knows more about WWE?
After the releases 2 weeks ago, we thought that we were in the clear for a while, but WWE had other plans. This past week we seen 8 more releases, consisting of Jaxson Ryker, Teagan Nox, Drake Maverick, Shane Thorne, John Morrison and the rest of Hit Row. Just like the last releases WWE got rid of a problematic wrestlers in Jaxson Ryker and Top Dolla. Join Frankie and Emerson as they go through the releases and talk about their time in WWE. Plus with Survivor Series today, we talk about the go home shows on RAW and Smackdown.
Here at Fact Of the Matter, we aren't looking forward to Survivor Series. The show that stops all storylines so we can pretend RAW and Smackdown are against each other. Probably the only interesting match on the card is the main event Roman vs Big E, obviously Roman is the biggest star in the company and Big E is the most beloved champion in a while. The matches could be good but that won't stop the feeling that this show is just a waste of time.
After All Out changed the wrestling world, AEW got a rush of new fans ready to see what happened next. With amazing matches like Kenny Omega vs Bryan Danielson, Pac vs Andrade El Idolo, Minoru Suzuki vs Bryan Danielson and many more in between PPVs, Full Gear had to be a banger. This show just kept getting great match after great match announced. Did the show live up to the hype?
Survivor Series continues to be the least thought out PPV from WWE, and with the PPV around the corner you'd think WWE would have the matches make sense and give the wrestlers a reason to team up. Well no, its just red vs blue. Most of the teams are made up of superstars from the other brands before the draft so it seems pointless, then the teams were just announced on twitter, then they changed their minds and took people out of the teams. Nothing makes sense.
Can Adam Page beat Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship? This question will finally be answered this Saturday at Full Gear. This is another stacked card for All Elite Wrestling, with matches like Miro vs Bryan Danielson, Superkliq vs Jurassic express and Christian Cage, plus many more. Join Frankie and Emerson as they predict the winners and losers of the card and also talk about where they think some storylines will go to.
WWE is at it again, this year has marked a disturbing new trend behind the scenes. WWE have released even more wrestlers, this marks the fourth time this year that they have done mass talent releases. A lot of shocking releases have happened this year like Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman and now that list includes Nia Jax, Eva Marie and Keith Lee. On a lighter note, join Frankie and Emerson as they review AEW Dynamite, Rampage and rant about WWE.
With the NXT rebrand to NXT 2.0, we met a lot of new faces like Bron Breakker, Tony D'angelo and the best one out of all of them Von Wagner. Join Frankie and Emerson as they they discus about all the new 2.0 superstars on NXT.
This past Wednesday ROH put out a statement saying that in 2022 they would be taking a hiatus to restructure the company and that all their wrestlers contracts would be ending at the end of the year after Final Battle and all wrestlers can wrestle anywhere they want starting now. Where are stars like the Briscoes, Jay Lethal, Jonathan Gresham, Rush, Bandido, and many more go? and can ROH survive when they come back?
We haven't talked about NXT in a while. Now with their first special in the 2.0 Era, we finally have something to talk about. Join Frankie and Emerson as they give you their thoughts on the show and their predictions.
Who was expecting anything good from Crown Jewel? WWEs favorite time of the year, as their wallets get filled with blood money and the wrestlers get forced onto a plane and pray every night that they'll make it back home.
Join Emerson and guest Johnathan as they predict Crown Jewel and give you their thoughts on the King of the Ring and Queens Crown tournaments.
Last week it was announced that Smackdown was going to have an extra 30 minutes in a special episode, this meant that AEW and the WWE main Roster would be going head to head for the first time. Did Smackdown bringing back Brock Lesnar work? Did the Rampage Buy-in get AEW the dub?
Frankie and Emerson take a split up the AEW roster and give Dynamite and Rampage their own rosters. Who will be the first round picks? Where will the champions end up? Will tag teams be broken up? Find out on this week's episode.
The WWE Draft is now in the books, there were a couple good brand swaps, but the absolute tragedy is The New Day still being broken up. The second anniversary show for AEW Dynamite was a banger, from the amazing opening 8-man tag to the no filler, all killer main event.
Continuing from our fantasy draft from last week, Frankie and Emerson book their brands first PPV. Frankie books Armageddon for Raw, who will the first round pick Roman Reigns defend the Universal Champion against? Emerson books No Mercy for Smackdown, with WALTER drafted to Smackdown who will he face first?
Extreme Rules 2021, more like Regular Rules 2021, RAW was more extreme than Extreme Rules. From the worst finish of a WWE PPV, to what might be the worst draft in WWE history, we run down this week in WWE. Plus we review AEWs shows, Rampage and a great tribute show for John Huber as Dynamite was in Rochester this week.
Finally it's time for the WWE Draft, to Celebrate we're doing our own draft. Join Frankie and Emerson as they make some crazy drafts. Who will be the first picks? Who will be called up? What champions will be drafted? and most importantly Who has the best roster?
AEW Grand Slam is now in the books. AEW does it again, in giving us some great shows. Bryan Danielson vs Kenny Omega, the debut of The Superkliq, Britt Baker vs Ruby Soho and many other great matches. Plus with Extreme Rules happening tonight, Roman and The Bloodline took over RAW and Smackdown.
This week marks AEW's first show in New York City, they have put together a PPV quality card. So we're treating it like a PPV, but WWE actually has a PPV. WWE adds another installment of Extreme Rules this weekend, and let's be honest there's only one match anyone cares about. Who will win The Head of The Table or The Demon? Join Frankie and Emerson as they give their predictions for Extreme Rules and both nights of AEW Grand Slam.
What an eventful week of wresting, NXT 2.0, Big E wins the WWE Championship, Ric Flair got canceled, plus Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson are having a match this week at AEW Grand Slam. Join Frankie and Emerson as they run this past week in wrestling.
With two great back to back pay-per-views from AEW, we're on an AEW high. Join Frankie and Emerson as they reminisce on these 2 and a half years of AEW and put together a tier list.
ALL OUT 2021 will go down in wrestling history as the day that AEW became the home for pro wrestling. With rumors of multiple signings coming to AEW, the world watched as Ruby Soho, Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson became ALL ELITE.
No wrestling show is perfect, especially in WWE. We might be in love with Tony Khan and AEW, but there are some things on Dynamite and Rampage that can be improved. Join Frankie and Emerson as they give their thoughts on what WWE and AEW can do to make their weekly wresting shows better.
How is Nia Jax still under contract? There have been countless stories of Nia being unsafe in the ring, and now she's shooting with Charlotte. Join Frankie and Emerson as they get ready for AEW All Out by reviewing Dynamite and Rampage.
This Sunday is AEW's biggest PPV of all time for one reason, CM Punk. After 7 years Punk made his return to the business, now tomorrow he makes his return to the ring along with a stacked card. Kenny Omega vs Christian Cage, Miro vs Eddie Kingston, The Young Bucks vs Lucha Bros in a steel cage and many more great matches.
