Jeff Howe, Bobby Burton and Hank South react to the breaking news that Ty'Anthony Smith is no longer with the Texas football program. Smith was the Longhorns' second-leading returning tackler and an important rotational piece, leaving Texas with significantly less experience behind projected starters Justin Cryer, Rasheem Biles and Brad Spence. The crew examines whether linebacker has suddenly become the biggest concern on Will Muschamp's defense and which players must step forward before the season begins. Can freshmen Tyler Atkinson, Rocky Cummings and Kosi Okpala handle expanded roles, or will Steve Sarkisian explore the transfer portal for emergency depth? With the second scrimmage approaching, Texas must quickly find answers in a room that now has virtually no margin for error. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this episode Work Of Wrestling host Tim Kail dives back into a discussion about morality in professional wrestling. He begins by cautioning listeners and readers from getting caught in the web of analysts who "build monuments to their own intelligence". Then he outlines his basic moral philosophy as good and evil existing as poles on a spectrum. He examines why morally grey characters and even villians are en vogue, why there's still value in characters like John Cena, and ultimately what he hopes to give his readers and listeners. My mornings are broken. I'm working on fixing it.Some combination of coffee, reading, writing, exercise, personal hygiene, then work. They started feeling like a bowl of Greek yogurt where I pick out the best blueberries. Negotiated mornings end up with me doing what I want to do. I leave the must-do berries in the bowl. I'm good at that. The routine. The rituals. Or the process. It matters. Maybe you're nodding right now because you agree or your finger is drifting to the close button because you've heard this before. Me too. What I hadn't considered was this. The process matters more than the outcome. When I was in my early 20s I read something like, "you should tell everyone your goal. Be loud about it. If you do that, you'll have more motivation to get it done."I did that once and just thinking about it makes my head shake back and forth automatically in embarrassment. Most people who hear about my time in the military think it happened right after 9-11. It didn't. That was two years later. After 9-11 I went to the Marine Corps and started the process to become an officer. I'd join them for PT every week as we moved along. And I told everybody. At work. Personally. Anyone who would listen. I bought a sticker, "United States Marine Corps," and put it in the back window of that black Audi A4 so I could tell everyone behind me too. Red text, yellow outline. I can still see it.I went into the future, grabbed an identity I hadn't earned yet, and brought it back. I was rewarding myself with an identity before the work.We shouldn't keep it all to ourselves. "They want to be on the journey with you," Princess Buttercup taught me. She's right. We should bring our closest people along. Big changes, dreams, failures. Your people deserve to know. And you might need them. But not everyone is your people. When we kidnap a future identity and apply it to ourselves today, it makes us less likely to do the work that earns it.A couple years later I did the complete opposite, which I also don't recommend. I enlisted in the Army and didn't tell a soul. Equally embarrassing.A few people needed to know I was going in the Marine Corps. The rest needed to hear it when I earned that sticker and could call myself a Marine. I brought the outcome forward because it let me enjoy the mental sugar high without doing the work. I fell in love with the outcome and identity, not the process. If you want to be a runner, don't go around telling people you're a runner. Tell the people closest to you that you're trying to be one and that you've been doing five runs a week. Ask them to check in on you. Help you push through. Some things are worth sharing widely. You can bring a group of people in behind you and they'll hold you up. Building a company is one of those. Two people close to me are building their own companies. Both hitting their stride. So good to see. Profitable. I've watched them both work the thousands of things it takes to build a profitable company. Not the commercial people put on LinkedIn but the documentary: payroll, SEO, closing the books, firing, hiring, down websites, working capital, and conflict.I've never heard either one of them, not once, talk about the identity or the outcome. Sure, they talk about getting profitable but NEVER about an exit or Inc. Magazine cover story or anything remotely close. They're too busy doing the work. They're in the process. They've never introduced themselves as an entrepreneur, founder, or CEO. They don't talk about the thing they are building in the future sense. They talk about goals, but not an end state. They have a vision, but they are too experienced to say they know for sure. They know they are just making it up as they go.They do talk about what they are doing today and next week. They talk about the problems they're chewing through. Then they wake up and solve them. They ask for help from the people closest to them, work the problems with their team, and things get better. Then they hunt for more problems. They are hunters in the truest sense. Sensitive, aware, connected. In the woods. Quietly stalking along their path. Heel, toe. Heel, toe. No accolades, no pomp, no future identity brought back to today. Just the work.I've watched both of them get better. Big problems a couple years ago are three minutes of work today. Or an eye roll. I don't know if they love building, but I do know they aren't in love with some outcome, some future identity. They haven't put the sticker on their car.Much of what we do will not end up where we want. We try things. They go right and they go wrong. That's the whole reason the process matters more than the outcome. If you get good at the process, the failures aren't because you didn't do the work. They end up being something external. Ideally. The older I get, the more comfortable I am with that. And even enjoy it. Rarely in the moment, usually looking back. Eventually, I recognize it as part of the process too.Why didn't I become a Marine? The most generous answer is the universe was conspiring to have me do something else. The more accurate answer is I didn't want it bad enough. Why didn't I want it bad enough? Maybe because I'd already brought the identity forward. The process wasn't what I loved. I loved the sticker. I loved the idea. My ego wanted that eagle, globe and anchor on the car. Or maybe on my back. I was too immature to recognize what I was doing then — bringing the identity forward. Chasing the outcome without actually doing the work.Hopefully, I won't make that mistake again. Today I'm just trying to be the quiet professional who loves the process, silently making my way toward something I want, or think I want. Keeping my people close to me. Heel, toe. Heel, toe.Take care, friend. Be good. -kv This is a public episode. If you would like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit kellyvohs.substack.com

Welcome back to Nattering With E! Today it's episode 186, and we're going a different route than your normal podcast. In professional wrestling, one of the most important aspects of a wrestler's gimmick is how good their entrance theme is. Heel or Face, liked or disliked, entrance music can be the one thing that sets you apart from the rest of your coworkers. Today we'll be looking at six wrestlers I wasn't a fan of, but had or have iconic entrance themes! As always, catch this and all my episodes of Nattering With E on the Nattering With E Network and Visionaries Global Media, where you get your podcasts.

The guys also recap AEW Redemption, discussing the standout performances, surprises, and what the event means moving forward. Madlik Podcast – Torah Thoughts on Judaism From a Post-Orthodox Jew
We've all heard the old cliché that "history repeats itself," but the Torah actually reveals a massive flaw in that idea. The Greeks believed history repeats itself. Enlightenment thinkers believed history marches relentlessly forward. The Torah suggests they're both missing something. In this episode, Geoffrey Stern and Rabbi Adam Mintz begin with a single Hebrew word—eikev—and uncover a uniquely Jewish philosophy of history. Through the insights of Ramban, Giambattista Vico, Johann Gottfried Herder, Isaiah Berlin, and Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, they discover a vision of history that is neither an endless cycle nor a straight line of inevitable progress, but a sometimes crooked, yet ultimately purposeful journey in which the past continually echoes into the present. Along the way, they explore Vico's revolutionary claim that history—and indeed all of the human sciences—is fundamentally different from the physical sciences. Nature may be governed by universal laws, mathematical formulas, and today's algorithms, but history is lived, remembered, recorded, and thereby created by human beings. It can therefore be understood only by entering the language, imagination, memory, and lived experience of a people. From Herder they learn that every nation and culture possesses its own authentic voice, and from the Torah that every generation must reinterpret its inherited story without abandoning it. Discover why Jewish history doesn't simply repeat itself—it rhymes. Key Takeaways History Doesn't Repeat. It Rhymes - The Torah rejects both the Greek idea that history endlessly repeats itself and the Enlightenment belief in inevitable progress. Jewish history moves toward redemption, but along the way the same moral challenges return, inviting each generation to respond anew. Eikev Is More Than a Word - The opening word of the parsha—eikev—means "because," "heel," and "crooked path." Through Ramban, we discover that Jewish history is purposeful without always being direct. God's covenant unfolds through the winding paths of human choices rather than along a straight line. History Is Made by People, Not Formulas - Vico, Herder, Isaiah Berlin, and Rabbi Jonathan Sacks help us appreciate what the Torah has always assumed: unlike the physical sciences, history cannot be reduced to universal laws or algorithms. It is created by people, cultures, language, and memory—and can only be understood by entering their lived experience. Barely have the keys to Number 10 changed hands, and the pastime of tearing down a woman for what she wears has swung into depressingly predictable action. Forget about the NHS, the economy, and the housing crisis — the real scandal is Andy Burnham's wife's wardrobe. So writes Suzanne Breen from the Belfast Telegraph. She joins Shane to discuss.
Everyone on a GLP-1 is watching the scale; almost no one is watching their bones. Bone loss isn't an inevitable part of aging; it's a reversible signal that something deeper is going wrong, and it starts far earlier than most people are ever warned. In this episode, Dr. Gabrielle Lyon sits down with Dr. Douglas Lucas, a former Stanford-trained orthopedic surgeon turned bone-health specialist, to discuss:Why bone loss begins around 45 during perimenopause, not 50, and why waiting for your first DEXA scan at 65 is far too late to prevent itThe blind spots in the standard DEXA scan: a scan-to-scan margin of error near 6% and no read on bone quality, only quantityBone turnover markers (CTX and P1NP) you can test from blood to see whether you're building or breaking down bone in real timeWhy the "protein is bad for bones" and "alkalize your diet" beliefs are myths and why protein, minerals, and adequate calcium matter more than calcium aloneWhat rebuilds bone at home: resistance training, real impact like heel drops, and vertical vibration plates used ~10 minutes a dayUnderstanding your bones as a living, changeable organ system means you can catch loss early, measure it honestly, and reverse the trajectory, instead of accepting decline as your fate.Thank you to our sponsors:Head to https://bit.ly/4ftfObn and use code DRLYON for 25% off sitewide. If there were ever two people who have had a greater impact on each other over the past 25 plus years... it's Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn!!!! But all the matches, the blood feuds, and the heated rivalries had a starting point and that was back in 2009 during the ROH Final Battle!!! The PWR Boys will talk about one of the most infamous heel turns of the 2000s as Kevin Steen contemplated retirement, only to fool the fans and his best friend El Generico!!! Was this a turn that peaked TW's interest? And also how have they parlayed that to arguably one of the greatest 2000s feuds in modern wrestling history!!! The Boys will delve into that reflection.

Jase, Al, and Zach confront the fear-driven control that keeps parents hovering long after their children need room to grow. Jase recounts the radical prayer he prayed when his own kids rebelled and explains why parents must ultimately trust God with the people they love most. The guys connect Abraham's obedience, living faith, and the hope of resurrection to the difficult work of letting go without giving up. They also challenge Christians to move beyond merely believing in God and begin living as though they truly believe him. If you are a woman over 40, burnout doesn't always come from working too hard. Sometimes it happens because you've slowly drifted away from the life you actually want.If you're a woman over 40 juggling career demands, family responsibilities, aging parents, relationships, and everyone else's expectations, you may recognize the feeling: you're constantly busy, yet somehow disconnected from yourself. In this powerful episode of the V.I.B.E. Living Podcast, we explore why so many midlife women feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and stuck—and how to begin finding their way back. Our guest is Dr. Cynthia Bentzen-Mercer, a board-certified executive coach, human capital strategist, and bestselling author who introduces a powerful framework she calls "drift"—the gradual, often unnoticed movement away from your values, priorities, and well-being. Together, we discuss why burnout is often an alignment problem rather than simply a workload problem.Cynthia shares her practical Five Ps of Human Flourishing—People Health, Physiological Health, Purpose, Prosperity, and Potential—and explains how they can help you identify where your energy is leaking and where meaningful change can begin. We also discuss the early warning signs of burnout, including chronic exhaustion, Sunday-night anxiety, emotional depletion, and the subtle ways women become trapped in cycles of complacency, avoidance, or constant caretaking. One of the most actionable moments of the conversation is Cynthia's Seven-Minute Pivot, a simple daily practice designed to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and begin making meaningful progress one intentional step at a time. We also tackle the difficult topics of boundaries, guilt, people-pleasing, and why learning to say "no" is often one of the healthiest decisions a woman can make.Whether you're navigating career burnout, a season of reinvention, empty nesting, caregiving, or simply wondering why life no longer feels aligned, this episode offers practical tools and fresh perspective to help you reconnect with what matters most.Cynthia also shares resources to continue your journey, including her diagnostic assessment and her books, Now, Near, Next, and Human Capital Investment Strategy. If this conversation encourages you, subscribe to the V.I.B.E. Living Podcast, leave a review, and share this episode with another woman who may be ready to stop drifting and start living with greater purpose, energy, and intention.Bio Dr. Cynthia Bentzen-Mercer is a Board-Certified Executive Coach, Human Capital Strategist, and bestselling author with more than 30 years of C-suite leadership experience. Tim Kail believes in a moral binary undergirding the fabric of the universe. What does this mean for the way we process moral dilemmas, and what can professional wrestling teach us about the world? In this wide-ranging moral conversation, Tim Kail explains why he believes the prevailing arguments for subjectivity represent a manipulative force in the culture, and that we need common, moral anchors to bind society together. He discusses how to process wrongdoers, giving people a chance to make ammends, listening to one's inner most self for guidance, and deciding whether to give artists a second chance. He also explores the real reason babyfaces get bood and heels get cheered in the modern era, and why it has nothing to do with the audience's moral desires.
